Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 1522 - 1574: The Lion Tamer
CHAPTER 1522: CHAPTER 1574: THE LION TAMER
In terms of predation ability, among the felines, lions and tigers are the absolute kings of kings. Even leopards cannot compare to these two fierce beasts. Two pitiful sheep were so scared they were frozen in place, even forgetting to run. They were tackled and bitten by several lions, while two Bengal tigers on the other side also bit and killed another sheep.
A few minutes later, the two sheep were torn apart, and their flesh was eaten in large bites. The bloody smell wafted over, making Sashar very excited as he clapped the railing and shouted loudly.
Li Yifei rested his hands on the railing, appearing very calm.
Beasts should roam the forests and wilderness, not be kept in captivity. These fierce beasts look intimidating, but they have lost their wild nature. They seem to have been raised from a young age and almost never hunt in the wild, only able to eat such food that doesn’t have the ability to run, or even flee.
Once these beasts were full, Sashar clapped his hands, and immediately a servant went in to collar the beasts, tied them with thick ropes, and took them out.
Sashar thought Li Yifei would draw back and show fear, but Li Yifei had no reaction at all. He continued holding his arms as if watching a show, very peaceful.
Sashar led two lions and, cocking his chin at Li Yifei, said: "Hawk, you pick two as well. These guys have eaten, and they shouldn’t just fall asleep; they need to be walked like dogs."
Sashar had a mind to tease him. These beasts, no matter how tamed, were still killer beasts and identified people. To strangers, a loud roar from these beasts would be enough to scare many people away.
Even when they’re full, if they aren’t satisfied, they will attack people.
For Sashar, if Li Yifei got bitten, he’d compensate with money. If unfortunately bitten to death, he could just pay a little more.
Li Yifei guessed his thoughts, smiled slightly, and took large strides toward the beasts. As expected, the beasts let out low roars, seemingly warning Li Yifei, some baring their fangs to intimidate him.
The two lions Sashar was leading also growled lowly, warning Li Yifei.
Li Yifei did not stop and continued to walk over. The beasts started to struggle, showing their sharp claws toward him.
The gigantic claws seemed like they could tear Li Yifei apart in a single swipe, and the large mouths seemed ready to swallow his head in one bite.
Li Yifei was already within the beasts’ attack range, and as they were about to charge, Sashar’s grin widened, as if waiting for Li Yifei to be pounced on and bitten.
However, one or two seconds later, Li Yifei merely said lightly, "Quite obedient."
The two lions and two tigers across from him suddenly quieted down, genuinely quiet, like tamed puppies, making a whimpering sound. They lay down on the ground with their butts raised and tails wagging.
Gah? Sashar’s smile froze. He couldn’t believe his eyes; how was this possible? How did Li Yifei do it?
There had been people who showed heroics in front of Sashar before—a special forces soldier, a mercenary—thinking that having killed many, even the smell of blood on their body would scare off the beasts. But that person was soon tackled, his legs and arms bitten off, and even though saved, he was crippled.
Because this had happened before, Sashar used it to test Li Yifei.
And the result was that these fierce beasts submitted like this? More docile than dogs.
Even the two lions that Sashar was leading lay down, showing a fawning expression.
"You... how did you do it? How did these guys suddenly become so docile?" When Sashar walked these guys, he always had a team of subordinates with guns, ready to shoot if the beasts got out of control.
Li Yifei stretched out his hand, patted the head of one lion, and upon hearing Sashar’s question, he turned his head and grinned, revealing white teeth: "Maybe I’ve killed their fellow kind, and these guys hold reverence for me."
Actually, he used the might of an Innate Expert. That intangible presence is very effective on more sensitive wild animals. It’s a breath of the natural innate laws, just like when animals face thunder, they shiver, or when they face a storm, they feel fear, or when they face wildfire, they flee in panic. The aura of an Innate Expert released by Li Yifei was stronger than those natural auras, so just releasing a bit made these guys almost scared stiff.
Thankfully, Li Yifei only released it for a few seconds, scaring the beasts, and then withdrew it.
Thus, these terrifying big guys transformed into docile little dogs, almost sitting up with their front paws out, making panting noises, which would make Sashar think he had raised several dogs.
Li Yifei led two lions and two tigers by himself, while Sashar led two lions. They walked up front, with the beasts prancing back and forth like little puppies, apparently very happy and excited.
This guy is indeed a bit strange, Sashar thought to himself.
After walking for quite a while, these beasts acted like dogs, and Sashar’s preliminary test of Li Yifei was achieved.
So, he called for Li Yifei to head back, and in his heart, he gave Li Yifei a high score: excellent marksmanship, boldness, and now he could even tame wild beasts. Watching Li Yifei being flanked by two lions, continually nudging him with their heads, Sashar thought for a moment that he had never enjoyed such treatment, so he felt a bit envious.
After driving the lions and tigers back into their pen, Sashar noticed those creatures seemed somewhat reluctant to part with Li Yifei, standing on their hind legs by the fence and making woeful sounds.
Back at the villa, Sashar stared at Li Yifei for a while before answering a phone call, just nodding and making a few sounds of acknowledgment.
Sashar hung up the phone and said, "That issue is settled now, but you really surprised me."
Sashar had just learned that a large group of members from the Anchor Organization had been killed in the outskirts of another city. The location was not far from where his car had been found.
The Arab uncle was tight-lipped and didn’t mention Li Yifei, but people from the same village reported that there were dead bodies, prompting the police to investigate. The result was shocking—not just dead bodies, but a massacre.
Dozens of people were killed. This was a significant event worldwide, although in the Middle East and some parts of Africa, even larger massacres occur, but they are rarely reported due to information blockage.
Upon investigation, the police discovered that the deceased were members of a terrorist organization called Anchor Organization. It could’ve been internal conflict among the terrorists or the act of some mercenaries or special forces.
In Sashar’s opinion, this matter was likely connected to this Hawk in front of him.
He had no evidence; it was just his guess.
Li Yifei remained expressionless and asked, "Oh? How was it handled?"
Sashar chuckled and said, "At the place where the car was found, many people died, all part of the group that kidnapped your compatriot."
"Ha-ha, I’m not capable of that, killing is illegal after all," Li Yifei shook his head.
Sashar did not expect Li Yifei to admit anything, nor was he intent on dwelling on this matter, instead saying, "This afternoon, let’s broaden your horizons. Since you’re here, you’re my esteemed guest. I never judge friends by their background; after all, none are wealthier than I am. As long as they suit my taste, it’s all good. There’s a banquet tomorrow night, and I hope you can attend."
"Actually..." Li Yifei elongated the word, waiting until Sashar looked over with a raised eyebrow before continuing, "I also don’t judge friends by their background. Even if they’re richer than me, if I find them pleasing, I’ll befriend them sincerely. But if I don’t like them, even God himself can’t help."
Sashar was stunned for a few seconds; Li Yifei’s words were bolder than his. A few seconds later, Sashar burst into hearty laughter, tears nearly forming as he slapped his thighs, not caring about his image.
After he had laughed enough, Sashar said, "That’s what I like to hear, very good. Hawk, you really fit my taste. Alright, there’s no need to pay for that car; my garage is yours. Take any car you like for a drive."
Li Yifei shook his head and replied, "No need for that; I think my Knight Fifteen is quite good. It’s imposing, and I don’t have to worry about getting hit on the road."
"Indeed," Sashar didn’t inquire where that car came from, but a simple check could reveal its origin.
After a lunch prepared by a French chef brought over by Sashar, Li Yifei got into Sashar’s car and followed him to a desert area.
The vast desert appeared barren, but looking back, one could see the towering buildings of Dubai city center, and even the Dubai Tower, the world’s tallest building, faintly visible.
A half-hour later, they arrived at a large estate. Upon entering and reaching their destination, Li Yifei saw a group of people dressed in Muslim robes gathering together.
Before getting out of the car, Sashar said, "These are all my relatives. Today is a competition, and those bodyguards in the back are whom I brought to participate."
It turned out that these people in Arab robes were all princes or dukes.
Li Yifei habitually scanned the area, noting that they were all ordinary people.
Behind these people stood many others; some were tall and imposing, others exuded an aura of murder, and some appeared to disregard everything.
Li Yifei understood; this was a competition within the circle of wealthy princes like Sashar.
After Sashar got out of the car, Li Yifei emerged, suddenly noticing an East Asian face. The princes were momentarily surprised but didn’t think much of it.
Sashar exchanged pleasantries with them, and Li Yifei understood it was nothing more than talking about things like, "I heard Prince so-and-so recently tried a few African women, how was it, did you get HIV?" or "Uncle so-and-so, you’ve been doing great lately, looking much younger. Your nephew got a few Polish girls, and you should try them out sometime," or "Where did you recently buy a villa? Let’s all go play together."
