CHAPTER 1534: CHAPTER 1586: NIGHT TALK

With that mention, Li Yifei immediately understood what she was referring to, and he smiled wryly, saying, "This really is... hard to explain. Anyway, I’m not like the people you’re thinking of. My wives have all loved me since I had nothing. Now, even though I have more, it’s all things we’ve worked hard to achieve together, not because I have money, or because I’m handsome, or because my life... uh, it’s not what you think."

Li Yifei almost slipped up, almost saying it was because he was good in bed, though that was also true.

Wu Shuwei smiled, having caught the slip in Li Yifei’s words. She shook her head with a smile and said, "I believe you. Let’s toast to your wives again! You’re quite lucky."

For someone who doesn’t believe in marriage, or rather doesn’t particularly believe in love, let alone someone like Li Yifei with a harem of women, Wu Shuwei doesn’t even think monogamy is reliable. She can’t quite imagine what that kind of relationship would be like, or what kind of stories might occur.

In fact, Wu Shuwei isn’t much older than Li Yifei; they can be considered contemporaries. Wu Shuwei has a clear and flexible mind when it comes to business, while Li Yifei wasn’t very savvy about business before. However, in recent years, through some hands-on experience, he has grasped many intricacies, combined with the Li family’s comprehensive development, participating in both domestic and international trade. So when they opened up the conversation, their discussion became more broad-ranging.

Wu Shuwei no longer asked about Li Yifei’s relationships with women, instead shifting the conversation to business topics.

From international trade, to shipping, to futures, to stocks, to finance, they talked from the Waltz to the European Union, from ASEAN to the prospects of Hong Kong and Macau, and then to the situation in East Asia.

When it came to Hong Kong, Li Yifei chuckled a few times, and Wu Shuwei immediately understood his sarcastic laughter. Recently, things had gotten a little out of hand there, especially with some young people. But without incitement and support, they wouldn’t be making such a fuss.

Wu Shuwei then said, "Look ahead."

Li Yifei grinned and said, "Indeed, looking forward is necessary. You and I are just ordinary people, it’s not for us to worry about. Anyway, no one in my family is going to shop or buy things in those places."

"Come to think of it, I haven’t been there either!" Wu Shuwei said, holding her wine glass, resting her chin on her hand, smacking her lips and gazing upward thoughtfully.

That expression was quite cute, Li Yifei complimented, raising his glass for a drink.

They chatted back and forth, returning to the Middle East conversation, where Wu Shuwei even analyzed the Middle East situation. Li Yifei was slightly surprised, as women usually have a low sensitivity to politics, especially with powerful military interventions, but Wu Shuwei’s analysis made perfect sense.

"Game!" Wu Shuwei softly uttered two words after finishing her analysis.

"He who is strong, is heeded." Li Yifei nodded.

"Yes, our country is strong now, but not strong enough yet. However, there’s no need to rush. We still need the efforts of us little people, piling up bit by bit." Wu Shuwei sighed.

Li Yifei nodded in agreement, mentioning a sense of national pride. Li Yifei was confident he was top-notch in that aspect; after all, the life and death experiences of recent years were because of this.

They continued chatting, and before they knew it, they had finished another bottle of champagne.

The mix of two kinds of alcohol, along with the after-effects of the wine, got Wu Shuwei thoroughly drunk. Even though she can hold her drink quite well, getting drunk twice in one day left her dazed, with misty eyes, totally slouched on the sofa, head tilted, looking at Li Yifei, with slightly parted lips, breathing softly.

A drunken woman, ah, Li Yifei clicked his tongue, setting down his wine glass, and looking at Wu Shuwei said, "Go to your room and sleep."

If he didn’t send her back now, Li Yifei felt he would be tempted more. Didn’t he see that Wu Shuwei’s sleeping gown had torn a bit? Perhaps she felt hot or was about to go on a drunken spree.

Wu Shuwei pushed away Li Yifei’s hand, pouting, and said, "Are you planning to do something naughty?"

"No, I’m telling you to go back to sleep."

"Nonsense, that’s what that lecherous old man said today." Wu Shuwei replied.

This was really drunkenness, Li Yifei scratched his head and said, "Well, if not, just sleep here."

"No, I’ll just stay for a while. Earlier you talked about the Middle East, so what do you think of the current situation in South Africa?" Wu Shuwei tried to sit up straight, looking at Li Yifei and asking.

Li Yifei sat back and said, "I’m not concerned about South Africa. I’m thinking, it’s already late in the night, you better go to sleep, or else you won’t be able to get up tomorrow!"

"No way, just finish what you were saying, then I’ll go to sleep. Otherwise..."

"Alright."

Li Yifei gave a brief account of South Africa’s situation — its economy, military, and even the country’s stability and development, all from his perspective.

Wu Shuwei listened with glazed-over eyes, not because Li Yifei’s insights were shocking, but because she was truly drunk, yet she didn’t want to sleep. She rarely let down many of her defenses to chat with a man, and wanted to continue chatting.

After asking about South Africa, Wu Shuwei continued to ask about East Africa, West Africa, Egypt, and even numerous countries in Europe.

Li Yifei didn’t want to answer, so she played tricks and refused to let Li Yifei touch her or leave.

Li Yifei had no choice but to answer question by question. When he finished talking about Russia, he found Wu Shuwei had already closed her eyes, her body slowly sliding down until her head was resting on the sofa, completely asleep.

"Ha..." Li Yifei chuckled, stood up, and said, "Do you want to sleep here or go back to the bedroom?"

Wu Shuwei didn’t respond, so Li Yifei walked over, picked her up, and though she was asleep, she instinctively grabbed onto Li Yifei as he carried her back to the room, gently placed her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket.

Li Yifei took a few glances before turning around and walking out, returning to his own bedroom.

Lying on the bed, Li Yifei too fell asleep shortly after. But after more than an hour, the sound of vomiting came from Wu Shuwei’s room. Li Yifei opened his eyes and immediately got out of bed, rushing out. Since Wu Shuwei hadn’t locked her door, Li Yifei opened it and saw her already crouched on the ground, a puddle of vomit beside her, and her hand resting on it. She seemed unable to hold on any longer, about to fall into the vomit.

Li Yifei quickly gathered her up, not minding the mess, and directly carried her into the bathroom, letting her lean against the toilet.

A strand of True Qi flowed into her from behind, soothing her stomach and alleviating the urge to vomit. After circulating once, Wu Shuwei felt much clearer. Her stomach wasn’t strong; she drank rarely, and even less often to excess, so each time she drank too much, it took a long while to recover.

"I’m... fine now." Wu Shuwei said weakly, leaning against the toilet.

Li Yifei responded with a "hmm" and said, "Take your time to recover, I’ll go clean up for you."

Cleaning up the vomit was something Li Yifei hadn’t done for a long time, but he had to do it, otherwise, the smell in the room would be too strong.

Wu Shuwei glanced back at Li Yifei and noticed he was only wearing underwear, with, seemingly, a more prominent butt than hers. The sight struck her nerves and vision. His physique was really good, his skin perfect, despite many scars...

Scars... As Wu Shuwei was lost in thought, she saw Li Yifei returning, this time facing her.

Naturally, Wu Shuwei’s eyes landed on a certain bulge, and it took her a few seconds to realize what it was. But Li Yifei came to grab a bath towel, planning to use it to wipe the vomit on the floor.

A few minutes later, Li Yifei was done cleaning, tossed the towel into the trash can, opened the window to let in some air, a wave of heat surged in. This season in Dubai, it’s like a furnace, even at night.

"How about now? Want me to give you another massage?" Li Yifei came into the bathroom and asked Wu Shuwei, who was still lying there.

"Still a little uncomfortable, and feeling weak all over, with a headache," Wu Shuwei said without looking at Li Yifei.

A masculine scent drew near, making Wu Shuwei feel flushed and hot.

Li Yifei’s large hand pressed against Wu Shuwei’s back, working to soothe her again. This time, he spent a little longer, considering how she’d been through the wringer a few times, and her body was probably depleted, he used more True Qi to alleviate her fatigue.

Several minutes later, Wu Shuwei truly felt better. Li Yifei withdrew his hand and said, "Alright, go to sleep, and don’t drink like this again."

"Mm, well... goodnight. I’ll take a shower and then sleep," Wu Shuwei said.

"Okay!" Li Yifei turned and left.

Not sure when Wu Shuwei fell asleep, or perhaps she didn’t at all, but in the morning, when Li Yifei came out, she was already in the living room, and breakfast had been delivered. Li Yifei nodded to her and said, "Good morning."

"Good morning," Wu Shuwei grinned.

Li Yifei thought she seemed quite spirited. After washing up, he sat down at the dining table to eat. Wu Shuwei also set down her laptop, came over, pulled out a chair next to him, and started eating.

Li Yifei glanced at her, and Wu Shuwei said, "I waited for you, so I haven’t eaten yet."

"Oh, then hurry and eat," Li Yifei said.

Today, Wu Shuwei seemed in good spirits. After breakfast, she went back to her room, changed into business attire, applied light makeup, and appeared before Li Yifei. She spun around and asked, "How do I look?"

Li Yifei gave her a serious look up and down, and then gave a thumbs up, saying, "Very good, you’re ready to go out."

Wu Shuwei smiled with satisfaction, picked up her bag, walked to the door, and just before opening it, she stopped, turned to look at Li Yifei sitting on the sofa, blinked and asked, "Do you have anything going on today?"

"Why?" Li Yifei smiled slightly, looking up at Wu Shuwei as he replied.
