Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 1535 - 1587: Sarama’s Anticipation
CHAPTER 1535: CHAPTER 1587: SARAMA’S ANTICIPATION
"If you have no plans, I can take you out to see the world."
"Are you sure it’s to see the world? And not to be a bodyguard?" Li Yifei retorted.
Wu Shuwei furrowed her brows and said, "There might be a bit of that."
"I feel like that’s exactly your intention."
"So... will you agree?"
"No." Li Yifei shook his head.
Wu Shuwei suddenly felt a bit disappointed. It was almost unheard of for her to invite a man out so proactively, and after managing to say it with feigned composure, she was rejected. Disappointment was evident between Wu Shuwei’s brows. She took a breath, adjusted her emotions, nodded towards Li Yifei, and said, "Well, I’m leaving then, see you tonight."
As she turned to leave, she heard Li Yifei’s voice behind her, "But if there’s a feast involved, I might reluctantly accept this task."
Wu Shuwei paused just one step into her exit, her previously tense face relaxed, she turned back to look at Li Yifei, and said, "Then... go change your clothes."
Li Yifei closed his laptop, stood up, and stretched lazily, saying, "Alright."
Returning to his room, Li Yifei started changing clothes. Outside, Wu Shuwei had a hint of a smile on her lips, somewhat joyfully. When Li Yifei emerged, she quickly suppressed her smile.
Taking a look at Li Yifei, Wu Shuwei’s eyes brightened slightly. Li Yifei was definitely not a super handsome guy, but his physique was great—muscular without clothes, with distinct muscle lines, yet not overly bulky in clothes.
With a change of clothes, Li Yifei’s aura shifted.
"Fits very well." Wu Shuwei nodded satisfactorily.
Li Yifei pocketed his phone and said, "Let’s go."
Shortly after the two left, a Knight Fifteen stormed up to the hotel entrance, parking directly in front—a spot where parking wasn’t allowed. However, seeing the vehicle and its license plate, the security dared not intervene; they even stationed someone to guard by the Knight Fifteen.
Just like in Huaxia, certain license plates signified special privileges. As security at a top hotel, they wouldn’t lack such perceptiveness.
Sarama rushed into the hotel, showed a credential, and the front desk didn’t stop her; they even sent someone to escort Sarama upstairs.
Full of urgency, she arrived at Li Yifei’s room door. Sarama then slowed her actions, straightened her clothes, looking a bit anxious, and bit her lip. Sarama turned to the attendant and said, "You can go back. Thank you."
"Okay, if you need anything, just call me." The attendant left.
Sarama raised her hand several times before finally ringing the doorbell, waiting somewhat nervously at the door.
Looking down at her outfit, Sarama felt a mix of anticipation and worry about meeting, concerned whether her appearance would appeal to Golden Eagle.
But she just wanted to see Golden Eagle. She even hardly slept last night for this reason.
She couldn’t sleep, and neither could Sashar, dragged along by this sister who was heavily spoiled by the family. He had to find Li Yifei, and after exhausting his resources, finally discovered which room Li Yifei was in. However, upon learning that Li Yifei was staying with a woman, Sashar was very worried about his sister’s reaction.
Yet Sarama wasn’t sad at all. Instead, she smiled beside him, saying, "That’s right, that’s Golden Eagle, like a chivalrous hero, free-spirited, full of charm."
Sashar wanted to roll his eyes; in his sister’s eyes, he had always been the image of a playboy. Nicely put, it was reckless with money; bluntly, it was being a womanizer. Sarama had once told him face-to-face she would never marry such a man, yet now that Golden Eagle was with a woman, she said this.
"Pouting and glaring won’t help. Golden Eagle isn’t like you guys, but don’t get discouraged. You’re getting a bit better now; although not as great as Golden Eagle, you’re doing okay," Sarama added.
Sashar collapsed directly onto the couch. He could understand Sarama’s feelings for Golden Eagle, but he was really tired and wanted to sleep.
Overnight, Sarama waited eagerly for dawn. After waiting for daylight, she kept waiting for the time, fearing that if she went too early, she might disturb Golden Eagle’s sleep. After being reassured by Sashar, she had breakfast then rushed off to the hotel where Li Yifei was staying.
On the way, Sarama imagined several scenarios for their meeting. Would he recognize her? What if he didn’t? Or maybe he remembered her...
If it’s the latter, Sarama thought she’d be so happy she’d want to cry. But crying in front of Golden Eagle—would he dislike that? A man so formidable would surely dislike women crying, so she must hold it in...
Various emotions she had imagined were entwining around Sarama.
When the doorbell rang for the first time, Sarama felt as if her heart would leap out. She pressed her hand against her chest, took deep breaths, but still couldn’t hold back the excitement.
"Sarama, oh Sarama, where has the courage you’ve trained these years gone? Where has the composure in the face of major events disappeared to?" Sarama shouted in her mind.
After the first doorbell ring, Sarama waited for a while but didn’t hear any sound from inside. However, it’s normal in such a hotel with excellent soundproofing not to hear anything. Sarama rang again, waited a moment, and found the door still hadn’t opened.
She bit her lip, her pretty eyebrows furrowed, lowered her head, her long eyelashes fluttered a few times. Then she gathered courage again, raised her hand and pressed the doorbell.
After the sound, there was still no response. Sarama felt entirely not well, sinking into a sad atmosphere.
The same waiter hurried over and said to Sarama, "Respectful lady, hello, I just checked for you, the guest in this room went out just now, so there’s probably no one inside..."
Sarama suddenly lifted her head, walked quickly to the waiter and asked, "Are you sure?"
"Um... I just asked the front desk for you, someone saw the guest from this room leave, and also requested the room to be cleaned."
"Thank you!" Sarama felt relieved instantly, patted the other’s shoulder, turned around and walked away, suddenly stopping, walked back, rummaged through her bag for a gold-edged card, and stuffed it into the waiter’s hand, saying, "This is my contact information. Please inform me as soon as the person returns."
"Okay, no problem." The waiter nodded swiftly. Gold-rimmed business cards can only be made by real tycoons. Giving them away so casually to a waiter, such extravagance... Watching Sarama stride away, the waiter could only sigh; the world of the rich is truly hard to comprehend.
Sarama dashed out of the hotel, got into the car, took a few breaths, and then took out the phone to call Sashar.
Poor Sashar finally managed to see Sarama leave, just lay down on the bed drifting into dreams, in which he was entangled with several beauties in battle, only to be interrupted by the ringing phone. Looking at the number, Sashar wanted to roll his eyes but resisted the strong urge. He still answered the call, feeling if he didn’t, Sarama might rush over and wake him with ice cubes.
Once the call connected, Sashar, eyes closed, said, "Sarama, what happened? Didn’t Golden Eagle meet you?"
"He... went out." Sarama’s voice showed some disappointment.
Sashar chuckled and said, "Going out is quite normal, it’s okay, he will return."
"Didn’t you say he would be invited to the evening banquet?"
"Of course, but he’s out now, and I’m not sure when he’ll be back."
"Then... we’ll talk tonight," Sarama thought with slight regret.
What to do now? Sarama had planned it all along, finding Li Yifei and taking him to a special dinner, something she envisioned years ago and now just needed to realize.
Sarama certainly didn’t have only this plan; there were many she wanted to fulfill with Li Yifei, but... without seeing Li Yifei, she could only keep waiting for him.
Luckily, she’ll see Li Yifei tonight as he will attend Sashar’s evening banquet.
Sarama, who almost never dressed up in recent years, unexpectedly parked her car in a top-notch shopping street, walked in with long strides, and soon came out with a pile of clothes.
These are what she chose, intending to wear them to the evening banquet.
Meanwhile, Li Yifei was already accompanying Wu Shuwei, arriving at the company she was currently in. Since he promised Wu Shuwei, Li Yifei naturally wouldn’t renege, and he thought it appropriate to personally understand the company’s situation where Wu Shuwei worked.
Wu Shuwei didn’t anticipate Li Yifei coming to Dubai; his purpose was the same as hers, so she was unguarded. After arriving at the company, she gathered the key leaders in the conference room to hold a meeting, with Li Yifei surprisingly attending.
The presence of Li Yifei stirred curiosity among those people, but no one foolishly asked anything, knowing Manager Wu’s mood was bad these days, leaving the company in panic over rumors the branch might be closing, with everyone thinking they’d be back home in a few days.
Despite the meeting, everyone remained silent, distracted.
Li Yifei was lost in thought, not needing to listen as he already knew what Wu Shuwei was discussing. After a while, the sound in the conference room suddenly grew louder, and Li Yifei snapped back to attention, hearing Wu Shuwei instructing someone to grab a document and telling everyone, "We signed an agreement, and if they dare to default, we will resort to legal actions."
Though Wu Shuwei spoke firmly, the people in the room seemed unbothered, still bowing their heads with flat reactions.
