CHAPTER 1501: CHAPTER 1501: THE HUNT FOR THE DESCENDERS (PART 9)
In an instant, Ye Qiu felt as if he was completely drained. If it weren’t for the ghost face doppelganger by his side, he would have surely fallen off the cloud and exposed himself to Shang Di.
With just a counterattack against those targeting the Supreme Emperor Bell, Ye Qiu’s strength was instantly drained.
The consumption of the Supreme Emperor Bell was far beyond Ye Qiu’s imagination.
A glint of determination flashed in Ye Qiu’s eyes. After this strike, no further attacks came, and the Supreme Emperor Bell returned to calm.
"You guys didn’t have it easy either." A bitter smile appeared on Ye Qiu’s face. He said this to those attacking the Supreme Emperor Bell, as a reminder that he had been drained of his power in an instant to give them a taste of hardship.
The price was not small. As for near Taishan, the sound of the Supreme Emperor Bell caused the man in white and the protectors of the Demon Lord Holy Son to retreat one after another, their faces looking rather grim. They wiped the blood from the corners of their mouths, and after glaring at the Supreme Emperor Bell for a while, they unwillingly departed.
Everyone who witnessed this scene was astonished; even the two strong individuals had no way to deal with the Supreme Emperor Bell.
...
The events on Taishan had not yet spread. Ye Qiu took out star coins and immediately began to absorb and refine them to restore his strength. The ghost face doppelganger stood as a guard, not only protecting Ye Qiu’s safety but also keeping an eye on Shang Di’s movements.
After four hours, Ye Qiu’s strength had recovered by half. He glanced at the ghost face doppelganger, and his mind was filled with more memories of his training room, under the watchful eyes of the ghost face doppelganger.
Seeing that Shang Di showed no intention of escaping, Ye Qiu breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that Shang Di might take advantage of the time he was recovering to flee.
Many descended entities kept vigil by the sea, searching the waters daily for Ye Qiu. Half a month had passed, and they found nothing.
Many even thought that Ye Qiu was not at sea and might have already left silently.
Some of the descended didn’t want to keep holding on and were preparing to explore Wangyue Peak.
Even the strong members of the Mo Shan Sect were starting to waver.
"Once the three-month period ends in another half month, it will no longer be considered breaking the oath."
Along with the strong of the Mo Shan Sect, three other descended entities eagerly awaited the three-month period to end. They were holding back anger, wanting to regain their dignity after being defeated by a native with their imperial-level strength. This shame had to be quickly washed away.
Even in the search for Ye Qiu, they were the most diligent and frequent in their efforts.
Little did they know, Ye Qiu was actually right under their noses, observing them from the sky without revealing any presence.
Shang Di felt that in another two days, he could attempt to break away from the strong of the Mo Shan Sect. The power of faith within him had grown large enough to potentially manifest into an incarnation. If he could accumulate strength for just two more days, he would have considerable combat power.
During these days, he had endured much from the strong of the Mo Shan Sect, and he longed to leave.
"Just two more days, two days will pass quickly."
Shang Di began planning how to escape from the strong of the Mo Shan Sect.
He had to plan meticulously, ensuring no mistakes, otherwise, if the strong of the Mo Shan Sect discovered his plan early, it would be disastrous. It was important to remember that the strong of the Mo Shan Sect was not alone; there were three helpers.
While Shang Di was planning his escape, Ye Qiu waited in the shadows for the moment Shang Di tried to flee.
Two days passed swiftly.
At night, a few clouds obscured the moonlight, making the sea’s surface appear pitch black.
The sea breeze carried a salty, fishy smell, and the seawater continuously scrubbed the land as fine sands slowly encroached upon it.
A figure quickly flashed past the sandy hill and darted into the dark sea.
Swoosh.
Shang Di continued to run wildly, creating a wave as he dashed across the sea surface.
After running for a hundred miles, Shang Di glanced back at the vast distance behind him. "Finally, I’ve shaken off that fellow."
For these days, he had been showing utmost respect before the strong of the Mo Shan Sect, appearing very humble, all for the goal of surviving and leaving today.
"All my patience has been worth it." Shang Di shed his earlier humility, revealing his true self.
Aura of majesty began to emanate from him, showcasing his divine presence.
With his survival, Shang Di decided that he would not return to China in the foreseeable future. Currently, China was too dangerous, not to mention Ye Qiu, who had immense potential as an opponent. Just dealing with the descended was headache enough. He was afraid of getting entangled with these people again, which would be disastrous.
As for ambition, Shang Di had it too, but unless he could return to his peak strength, he wouldn’t easily reveal himself. For now, China was a place of trouble, and he preferred to stay far away from it.
Just as Shang Di was fully focused on leaving this chaotic land of China, a figure followed closely behind him, letting out a chuckle, "So late at night, where are you headed?"
Hearing the voice, Shang Di was startled.
Turning back, he saw the strong of the Mo Shan Sect following him.
"Weren’t you meditating? How come you’re here?" Shang Di questioned.
The Mo Shan Sect strong had a smile on his face. Shang Di realized the other had deceived him; the meditation was a façade to secretly tail him.
"So, you knew all along," Shang Di said.
"Knew? Haha, for over a thousand years, a former master now follows my lead with respect. Isn’t it enjoyable? Why would you want to escape and disrupt my enjoyment?" The Mo Shan Sect strong said casually.
Shang Di’s expression hardened, "So you knew who I was all along? You said you couldn’t remember just to deceive me?"
The Mo Shan Sect strong had said this much, and Shang Di understood that all his earlier actions were already seen through; the other party had simply chosen not to expose him.
How ironic!
What a huge irony, Shang Di felt played for a fool by his opponent, completely kept in the dark.
"Go to hell!"
In a fit of rage, Shang Di could no longer hold back. Those days of respectful behavior before the Mo Shan Sect strong were vivid in his mind, and now learning that his act was fully understood all along was utterly mocking him.
The incarnation of faith clapped its hands, causing the Mo Shan Sect strong to retreat suddenly, dodging the attack and swiftly summoning the power of guidance.
"Extinguish!"
"Kill!"
The Mo Shan Sect strong engaged in battle with the incarnation of faith, causing massive waves on the once calm sea, breaking the night’s silence within moments.
The attacks unleashed blinding light, shining through the night as Shang Di dared not linger, leaving the incarnation of faith to clash with the Mo Shan Sect strong while he himself slipped into the darkness.
"Hmm?"
Seated atop the Bahuang Sword in the sky, Ye Qiu saw Shang Di trying to escape. He chuckled, and with a thought, the Bahuang Sword immediately pursued.
Swish, swish, swish...
Within a few breaths, several figures reached the sea surface, seeing the Mo Shan Sect strong battling the incarnation of faith, they immediately joined the fray.
In a matter of moments, the incarnation of faith was shattered.
"Chase him down. This guy almost killed us a thousand years ago. We can’t let him escape now."
The Mo Shan Sect strong exchanged glances with the few others, and instantly, four figures pursued in the direction where Shang Di had disappeared.
