Chapter 730

    “Cut!”

Unfortunately, the okay sign did not come. The staff had to move quickly to shoot the same scene again.

It was a superhero movie with a lot of action scenes that involved flying, using magic, teleporting, and other things that ‘ordinary’ people could not do.

Often, they had to shoot short clips of scenes that would last less than a second in the movie, such as running or hanging scenes.

This scene was one of them.

They were shooting the scene where the villain ‘Jeff McKay’ fell from the sky.

And since it was an action scene, it was not the actor Kirk Lawrence, but the stuntman Kim Jaeyeon who was shooting.

    “Is the wire okay, Jaeyeon?”

    “Yes. It’s fine.”

Kim Jaeyeon answered the staff’s question, checking the safety belt on his upper body.

He was wearing a wire for safety. Jonathan, the director, approached him and spoke.

“You had a good speed, but your expression was too stable when you fell, Jaeyeon.”

    Kim Jaeyeon nodded.

It seemed that the landing technique that he had trained for had unconsciously manifested.

“I want you to show more of the feeling of being smashed into the ground, as if you had lost your sanity after seeing the shadow. Can you do that?”

    “Yes. I understand.”

Kim Jaeyeon and Jonathan exchanged words. Seo-jun watched them with a smile.

They were both older than him, but he felt proud of them.

Seo-jun was waiting for the next shoot at the actor’s seat under the shade.

After this scene, he would shoot the scene where ‘William’ witnessed the ‘villain, Jeff McKay’ who appeared in the act. That’s why Kirk Lawrence was sitting next to Seo-jun.

The set changed as the action scene began.

The right part of the cathedral spire, which was broken by the ‘black-green tentacles’, was covered with green chroma key to make it with CG.

The tables and chairs, and the props that looked neat as if a wedding ceremony would take place soon, were messed up and scattered on the floor. Of course, the altar was also replaced with a broken one.

It looked like a battle was about to happen.

    “Ready,”

    Seo-jun’s head turned reflexively.

Jaeyeon, who was wearing a wire, was floating in the air.

It wasn’t that high, but he wondered if it would be hard for someone with acrophobia, since the only thing he could rely on was the wire.

    “Action!”

With that shout, Kim Jaeyeon fell from the sky.

And he crashed into the ground without mercy. Of course, there was a soft mat below to replace the green chroma key.

    “Cut! Okay!”

Jonathan, who was looking at the video taken by the large cameras, shouted.

“We’ll go right to the next shoot!”

Seo-jun and Kirk Lawrence got up from their seats at Matthew’s, the assistant director’s, shout.

Kirk Lawrence looked at Seo-jun, who was heading to the set with an excited face.

He had watched him today while shooting together, and Seo-jun Lee always had that happy expression when he was shooting.

    ‘Is he okay?’

He wondered if that ‘positive emotion’ was okay when he was acting as the bright ‘William Lee’, but it might be a bit hard for the scenes he would shoot later.

Of course, he had seen the [Shadowman Series], and he wondered who would worry about whom in terms of acting skills.

Maybe it was because of the delicious cookies, or maybe it was because Seo-jun’s atmosphere made people feel comfortable and friendly.

Kirk Lawrence worried about Seo-jun for a moment.

    ***

    “Ready, action!”

The villain, Jeff McKay, who had made a violent appearance by breaking the cathedral spire and ruining the outdoor wedding venue, was standing still in the dust that seemed to have broken down somewhere.

The alien creature ‘Arodo’ that was parasitic on Jeff McKay’s body also lay its black-green tentacles on the ground and remained still.

    William looked at Jeff McKay.

It was the first time he saw him in the bright light, but he recognized him right away.

The sharp eyes, the pale face, the scruffy beard.

The dark prison, the face of the man he saw under the moonlight.

    He could never forget it.

    Whooosh.

A black flame sprang up in the depths of his heart.

It felt long to William, but it was a very short moment.

    -All agents, attack!

Taylor, the director, reacted as soon as he saw Jeff McKay.

“Lee! You have to evacuate now!”

Taylor’s voice came through the radio, and the shout of the first agent came through the other ear. William snapped out of it.

    “Ah, yes!”

He wanted to take revenge on that villain right away, but there was nothing William could do right now.

He was very angry, but it was inevitable.

The first agent got into the driver’s seat and William got into the back seat.

The sound of the first agent’s fighter and the agents attacking came from behind the departing vehicle.

    -He’s not moving right now…!

Instructions and reports were coming and going from the radio plugged into his right ear.

William turned his head and looked behind.

He saw the battle scene that was getting farther away through the car window.

The dust cloud was swaying because of the shelling.

Jeff McKay, who was being attacked mercilessly, had no reaction at all.

    He felt uneasy.

It was like the calm before the storm.

William couldn’t take his eyes off the battle scene.

And as if William’s guess was right, a shout came from the radio.

    -Target! He’s moving…!

Before he could finish the report, black-green tentacles stretched out from the dust cloud.

And they stabbed the fighters who had attacked him like skewers.

    Kwaang!!

Some of the fighters who were hit by the fatal blow exploded with a huge flame.

The black-green tentacles did not stop there.

They threw the fighters that were stuck on the tentacles in all directions and smashed them into the ground.

    Kwang! Bang! Kwaang!

    Loud noises from all directions.

The trees in the park broke and flames rose. The first agents who were injured and evacuating came into William’s sight. His hand on the backrest was clenched so hard that the veins showed.

    Whooosh.

    Another black flame sprang up.

    Bang!

    Screech-!

With a loud noise, the car that William was riding in turned sharply to the side.

The movement tilted William’s body to the side. He was only looking at the back of the battle situation and was surprised to look ahead.

He saw a long gray object.

It was an unfamiliar sight, but William knew what it was at once.

It was the first agent’s fighter.

The first agent’s fighter had crashed in front of the car that William was riding in.

    Kwaang!

The fighter, which was crushed by the black-green tentacles and smashed into the ground, exploded with a loud noise in front of William’s eyes.

And soon it started to burn.

The cruel and hot heat was transmitted to William and the first agent who were in the car.

    “Th-the pilot…”

    His heart sank.

William was anxious as the First agent, who was driving in reverse to avoid the blocked road by the blazing fire, opened his mouth.

His mission was to evacuate the civilian William Lee safely.

“Don’t worry, Lee. They must have escaped before the crash.”

He explained as if to reassure him, but his speculative remark only made William feel more suffocated.

The voices coming from the radio also did the same.

Amidst the reports and orders, the explosions continued to sound. He could feel the will of the First to defeat the villain, even in their state of pain and agony.

    Slowly.

    His heart sank.

The hot flames that he felt from outside, somehow felt cold to him.

Just like the body temperature of the Shadowman that he felt a few days ago at the abandoned factory.

    Whoosh.

    Another one.

    A black flame burst out.

Sensing William’s emotion, Jay and his partner, who had been hiding in the shadows until now, worried that William might be targeted by the villain, revealed themselves.

They tried to divert William’s attention from the battle scene by moving around.

    But William did not blink.

He just stared at the battle scene with his calm and sunken black eyes.

As if he felt the silent commotion, the First agent looked back through the rearview mirror.

    “…Lee?”

The First agent unconsciously opened his mouth.

The person there had a completely different vibe from the boy who was looking at the battle scene with a worried expression just a moment ago.

    Then,

    Bang!

    There was a loud noise.

It was not a sound from far away.

    It was right behind.

It was the sound of the car’s back door falling off.

And it was by William Lee’s attack!

    “Lee!!”

The startled First agent stopped the car and turned around, calling out to William.

But as if he did not hear his scream, William got out of the car and started walking towards the battle scene where explosions and flames were erupting everywhere.

With a strangely calm, yet heavy, and yet formal gait.

The black shadow underneath him flickered like a flame.

    “Director!”

The First agent pressed the button of the radio and shouted.

    -What’s going on?

The voice of Director Taylor came along with the explosion.

    “Lee has escaped!”

    -…What?

    “William Lee!”

    The First agent corrected himself.

    “No!”

The person who was sitting in the back seat a while ago was not William Lee.

The owner of that atmosphere that made his spine chill without him knowing was the person who had been under the watch of the First for a long time.

“Jin Natra is heading to the scene!!”

    ***

The big cameras filmed the inside of the car.

There were green chroma keys everywhere, making it hard to empathize with the background, but the two actors did a great job of acting.

    “Jo, the pilot…”

“It’s okay, Lee. They must have escaped before the crash.”

At the line of the actor who played the role of the First agent, Seo Jun looked at the fighter jet (which would be made with the green chroma key) and activated his abilities.

[(Evil) Death Knight’s Chivalry (IntermediateLow) is activated.]

[(Evil) Marshed’s Shadow Art (Low-IntermediateLow) is activated.]

Was it because he used them after a long time, or did he feel that the abilities were enjoying themselves? Or maybe he was enjoying himself playing the villain after a long time, he thought, and smiled inwardly. He focused on the filming again.

They were low-level abilities, but they used magic as their energy source.

Just like when he filmed [Shadowman Series], the entire set of [Shadow and Knight] was filled with a dark and eerie atmosphere.

They were filming the scene where ‘William Lee and the First agent escape’, so everyone was away from the set, but the chilliness reached here as well.

    “Wow. This is Jin Natra…!”

Philip Yoon rubbed his arms with goosebumps, but kept admiring. The staff and the other actors who saw Seo Jun’s ‘Jin Natra’ acting for the first time were the same.

It was several times more amazing than what they saw in the movie.

“He has a totally different vibe from his usual self.”

“Right. I didn’t think he couldn’t do it, but, you know…”

Sophia Kelly exclaimed and Kirk Lawrence continued.

They only saw him for a short time, but he was so gentle and friendly, whether he was sharing cookies or acting as ‘William Lee’.

“He really looks like a villain!”

Everyone nodded at Philip Yoon’s words.

    Villain.

That was the only explanation they needed.
