CHAPTER 407: REMEMBER, REMEMBER THAT FEELING

"Ah!" groaned Idan, in pain.

His mind was busy searching for an answer to the question of why he couldn’t take his Spirit Form. While his body was recovering quickly due to the abundant flow of fire elemental energies.

From the first minutes of Erza’s appearance, Idan noticed that there was a large amount of light energy in the air. But no matter how he tried to interact with the element of light, his body could only absorb a small part of it. Compared to how his body absorbed the fiery energy, this was just a drop in the bucket.

"Perhaps because of the loss of connection with the Lumiar bloodline, I have lost my basic understanding of the element of Light?" A thought flashed through Idan’s mind when another attempt to establish a connection with the element of Light failed.

Another powerful attack landed on Idan, and he barely managed to defend himself with fire blades. Due to the difference in strength, he was sent flying.

"Damn!" cursed Idan, trying to stabilize his position in the air.

Idan couldn’t concentrate because of the unbearable pain and Erza’s constant attempts to kill him. He was too busy trying to dodge and not die to think about anything else.

At this moment, when Idan was in a difficult situation, he suddenly felt the call of his first star.

"Ned?" called Idan, recognizing who was trying to contact him. And then, like a bright lamp lit above his head, he remembered something he had already forgotten.

"How could I forget about that?" exclaimed Idan, trying to dodge Erza’s next attack.

"Remember, remember that feeling,"

he repeated to himself, trying to recall how his avatar a few days ago, with the help of Ned, used a combination of the elements of Light and Fire.

"Although it wasn’t a perfect match back then, it was already something," Idan muttered, slightly distracted by how Erza’s punch sent him flying again after his injury.

"It’s working!" Idan exclaimed with joy when, after several attempts, the absorption rate of the element of light increased significantly. He also noticed how the absorbed energy began to accelerate the healing process of his wounds by interacting with the element of fire.

"What if..." he suddenly had a crazy idea.

"I hope I don’t become a masochist because of this," Idan said to himself, gritting his teeth and barely dodging Erza’s next attack.

Boom!

The blow landed squarely on the target, and Idan fell to the burning ground with great speed.

Erza stopped walking and stared intently at the place where Idan had fallen. Her face expressed not joy, but thoughtfulness and anxiety.

"It’s strange," she mused. "All this time, he managed to defend himself or tried to dodge the blow, but this time he purposefully took the blow on himself." Idan’s strange behavior did not escape Erza’s attention.

"Ha ha ha ha," laughter could be heard from the sea of fire. "It’s working!"

The severe wounds on Idan’s body began to heal quickly due to the combined efforts of the elements of fire and light. Under Idan’s persistent guidance, fire and light began to merge with each other, and at the same time, the absorption of the element of light by Idan’s body increased many times.

Idan burst out of the flames and hovered in the air next to Erza, looking at her with a smile. His wounds had almost completely healed, which surprised and angered Erza.

"Die already!" she shouted, delivering another blow. Idan gritted his teeth and took it on himself again. The pain was unbearable, but he decided to take the risk to achieve his goal faster.

He fell to the ground with a crash again.

This time, Erza didn’t wait for him to get up, and brought down all her spells on the place where he fell.

"Aaaaaaa!" — Idan couldn’t hold back a cry of pain, unable to bear it all.

His thoughts were occupied only by the feeling of pain, and nothing else could distract them. At some point, the desire to die began to creep into his mind, and he began to regret his decision to take the risk.

And then, when he was on the verge, something changed inside him. The two elements, Fire and Light, began to merge together, and Idan took this as a sign. He took advantage of the moment and tried to assume his Spirit Form again.

And then the pain that had almost broken him began to subside.

Erza, noticing that Idan had stopped screaming, suddenly lost him. She stopped and felt joy for the first time in a long time.

"Ha ha ha, are you dead after all?" said Erza, looking at the sea of fire, but not finding any signs of its presence.

"Loser, even with the help of the world itself, you couldn’t stand up to me!" she exclaimed, putting all her anger into these words.

"Damn it! I’ve spent too much effort on this guy," Erza muttered, checking her condition. She knew that there was also a Guardian of the Light who had gone to finish Arabel off.

Thinking that she had dealt with Idan, Erza was somehow sure that the Guardian of Light would also deal with Arabel.

"No," Erza suddenly said, looking at the sea of fire. "I need to leave this world as soon as possible before this world does something else."

And so, when she was about to return to the portal in order to return to her home world as soon as possible, her attention was attracted by a bright flash of light that burst out of the sea of fire.

Erza barely managed to put up a defense before a sharp arc, cutting through her barrier, crashed into her body and sent her flying. Her defense absorbed most of the attack power, and it was only because of this that she wasn’t split apart.

Deep cuts appeared on her face, arms, and body, from which dark blood began to ooze.

Following that, ten bright blades shot out from the sea of fire, rushing towards her. Erza instantly created a shield of darkness around herself. The blades slammed into her defense one after another, but were stopped, leaving numerous cracks on it.

After the attack, Erza’s gaze fell on a creature that appeared from the sea of fire, holding a red sword in its hands.

Her eyes trembled as she recognized the creature as Idan.

Idan’s body was engulfed in flames, as was his hair. However, unlike his usual Spirit Form, which Idan gained when he took control of his Alpha of Fire bloodline, Idan’s current flame was the result of the fusion of the elements of light and fire.
