CHAPTER 10: CHAPTER 10: THE CHILDREN’S FATHER HAS LONG BEEN DEAD

Raina Lowell’s legs gave out in shock, nearly causing her to collapse to the ground.

Her delicate, round face was ashen.

The property staff watching the surveillance with her showed some sympathy and reached out to support her.

"Miss Lowell, do you know this person? If not, we should call the police. Your two children are so adorable, don’t let them get abducted."

Raina Lowell tried her best to remain calm and composed.

She gestured to the property staff that it was unnecessary to intervene, then staggered out of the surveillance room, her head pounding as if hit by a heavy object.

She had no idea how Adrian Grant knew about her children’s existence.

Even less did she know where they planned to take her children.

No wonder Adrian Grant forbade her from returning to Lowell Manor.

Turns out, he knew everything.

Raina Lowell recognized it was her fault; she shouldn’t have hidden this from Adrian Grant.

But the children were innocent.

Terrified that Adrian Grant might harm her children, she hurriedly pulled out her phone to call him.

But the call wouldn’t go through; it seemed he had blocked her.

Raina Lowell dared not hesitate and, after stabilizing her emotions, immediately hailed a taxi back to Lowell Manor.

Adrian Grant would definitely be there.

He undoubtedly wanted her to seek him out and confess voluntarily.

Though scared of seeing Adrian Grant’s outburst, she’d brave any danger for the sake of her children.

At ten p.m., Raina Lowell arrived at Lowell Manor.

She approached the door, but her fingerprint couldn’t be recognized, and face recognition failed to unlock it.

It seemed Adrian Grant truly didn’t want her to return, so he changed all the codes.

Raina Lowell had no choice but to call Madam Cole to let her in.

Madam Cole rushed to the door, noticing Raina Lowell’s anxious expression, as if there was something urgent.

Madam Cole opened the door to let her in, reminding her:

"Ma’am, Sir is busy in the study, but he’s been quite upset since he returned. Did something happen between you two?"

Raina Lowell said nothing.

Hurriedly entering the house, she went upstairs and forcefully pushed open Adrian Grant’s study door.

Saw that Adrian Grant was sitting in front of the computer, the screen was black, and he wasn’t working.

He was just sitting there quietly, his face terrifyingly dark.

Holding her breath, Raina Lowell approached him, her heart pounding in her throat.

"Adrian, Adrian Grant, have you found out everything? Where did you take them?"

The man merely glanced at her coldly.

As if he hadn’t heard anything, he placed his hand on the keyboard, lighting up the computer screen, pretending to work.

Raina Lowell, anxious, moved closer, her voice trembling.

"Adrian Grant, I know you told Caleb Landon to take them away. Tell me what you plan to do, why you took them?"

Her babies are only three years old, so well-behaved and adorable.

This man better not do anything drastic.

Otherwise, she would never forgive him.

Adrian Grant suppressed the fury within his chest and looked at Raina Lowell, feigning ignorance.

"What are you talking about? I didn’t understand a word?"

Raina Lowell felt suffocated, becoming more anxious.

"Can you stop pretending? Can you tell me where you’ve sent my Aurora and Evelyn?"

She was so anxious she was about to cry.

Yet he remained calm as if the matter didn’t concern him.

"Pretending about what? What Aurora and Evelyn? Raina Lowell, what on earth are you talking about?"

Raina Lowell knew he was being deliberate.

Without any rationality left, she laid bare everything.

"Aren’t you just trying to find out why I divorced you? That’s right, my reason for divorcing is because of those two children."

"I gave birth to someone else’s children while studying abroad. I don’t love you at all."

"If it weren’t for Grandpa, I wouldn’t have become your wife. So, please return my children to me, and I’ll disappear immediately, never hindering you and Isabelle Everett."

Raina Lowell knew she and this older man could never be together again.

Now that he knew about her children, he surely wouldn’t maintain the marriage with her.

All she hoped was that he’d show mercy and return her children to her.

Adrian Grant’s eyes were like icy daggers, coldly piercing Raina Lowell.

Listening to her words, every sentence felt like a sharp blade stabbing into his heart.

He didn’t know where such tolerance came from, yet he remained seated there, calm and composed.

He even laughed, asking Raina Lowell:

"You’re my wife, yet I had no idea you had two children outside?"

However, Raina Lowell hadn’t anticipated his reaction.

She thought this man would explode, would grab her and question her.

Might even hit her, scold her, humiliate her.

But he didn’t.

He just sat there, staring at her, so calmly it sent chills down her spine.

Raina Lowell knew the fault was hers.

She shouldn’t have hidden it from him.

She lowered her head, proactively admitting her mistake.

"I’m sorry. I should have confessed when you took me to the civil affairs bureau for the marriage certificate, but at the time I thought we’d soon divorce, so I didn’t tell you."

"I always knew you didn’t like me. You married me because Grandpa pressured you, and I’ve been waiting for you to divorce me so I could take Aurora and Evelyn abroad."

"Adrian Grant, if you blame me for deceiving you, you can do whatever you want to me, but I beg you not to hurt them. They’re so young; they know nothing."

Raina Lowell knew she had no right to feel aggrieved.

Especially not to shed a single tear in front of this man.

But she was really worried about her children.

Afraid they would be frightened.

Afraid Adrian Grant would transfer his rage onto them and do something.

Her anxiety caused tears to flow uncontrollably from her eyes.

Adrian Grant remained remarkably calm.

But the heart within his chest was in shattered agony.

He didn’t understand why he felt such excruciating pain.

But more than anything, he was furious.

Angry at how this woman toyed with him.

He couldn’t just let her off, letting her escape with the two children unscathed.

"The Grant Family gave you money, sent you abroad for studies, and this is how you repay them?"

Staring at Raina Lowell, Adrian Grant genuinely wanted to choke her to death.

But he wouldn’t gain anything from her death; it wouldn’t be easy to explain to the family.

So he had to keep her, slowly torturing her.

After all, he had ways to make her wish she were dead.

"I know it’s my problem."

Raina Lowell raised her hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes, looking at Adrian Grant to see he still didn’t want to lose his temper.

She was very surprised by his reaction and hurriedly admitted her mistake and apologized.

"I’m sorry for disappointing you all. I owe the Grant Family money; I’ll pay it back slowly. Can you please return my children to me?"

Adrian Grant no longer looked at her, suppressing the dissatisfaction and anger within himself, but answered irrelevantly:

"Who is the father of the children? During this year of our marriage, did you have an affair with him?"

If she dared have an affair while married to him, he would definitely not show her any mercy.

Raina Lowell quickly shook her head, "No, the children’s father died before they were born."
