CHAPTER 104: CHAPTER 104: EVELYN AND ADRIAN GRANT’S PATERNITY TEST

Adrian Grant stopped in his tracks, turned to look at Raina Lowell, and responded without denying:

"Yes, I slept with her, but it was only that one time four years ago."

He doesn’t clearly remember the details of that night.

But he knows very well that he touched Isabelle Everett.

"Was it on the night of your birthday, in the hotel?"

Raina Lowell pressed further.

If so, what happened that night might have been after she left, and Isabelle Everett took her place.

Only then, Isabelle Everett never revealed that she slept with a stranger.

Raina Lowell could hardly bear the thought that Isabelle Everett calculated against her, and the one who ultimately forced her might have been Adrian Grant.

There couldn’t possibly be something that absurd.

Truly unknown why Raina suddenly brought up the matter from four years ago.

Adrian Grant felt there was no need to lie, so he nodded and said, "That’s right."

He was curious how Raina knew what happened between him and Isabelle Everett four years ago on his birthday.

What exactly does this woman want to ask?

Today seems so strange.

Raina Lowell got a clear answer, and she was almost certain in her mind.

She went upstairs to find Adrian Grant’s hair with follicles in the bathroom.

Even though she was still unsure if Adrian Grant was the father.

Her mind felt inexplicably uneasy.

During her three years abroad, she hated the man who had forced her back then.

If it weren’t for Aurora and Evelyn being so adorable and obedient, she wouldn’t have gradually forgotten about that night.

Thinking of her daughter’s death and Adrian Grant’s indifference.

If he truly was their father, she would never forgive him in her lifetime.

Watching Raina walk away.

Adrian Grant was still puzzled.

He found it harder to decipher that little woman’s thoughts.

How she randomly asked about the events from four years ago.

Why she cared whether he had slept with Isabelle Everett.

She herself had already given birth to a child with someone else, yet cared about him sleeping with someone else?

Adrian Grant felt this matter wasn’t worth worrying about; after all, he and Raina were already divorced.

Now, he remained by Raina’s side out of sympathy for her losing her daughter, afraid she’d struggle to cope, so he stayed to take care of her.

Still somewhat worried about Raina, he followed her upstairs.

Raina Lowell couldn’t find any hair in the bathroom.

Had to get it directly from Adrian Grant’s head.

Just as she was walking out of the bathroom, she ran into Adrian Grant, who had followed her, and she didn’t avoid him but instead approached him proactively.

"Adrian, can you stay with me tonight?"

Adrian Grant understood perfectly well that he was already engaged to Isabelle Everett.

No matter that he didn’t love that woman.

But he had to maintain his principles, definitely couldn’t lose control like before and end up with Raina again.

That would also be disrespectful to Raina.

He took a step back and replied solemnly:

"I can accompany you. Even if we’re no longer husband and wife, for my grandfather’s fondness for you, I’ll still care for you as if you were family."

The meaning was clear; he could accompany her but couldn’t engage in any immoral acts again.

Raina Lowell wasn’t stupid; she understood perfectly.

That’s for the best.

All she wanted were a few strands of his hair; she didn’t want to have any further involvement with him.

That night, Adrian Grant still kept watch while Raina Lowell slept.

He leaned against the side without getting into bed.

Still feeling drowsy, while sleeping, Raina Lowell propped herself up and pulled a few strands of his hair.

The action woke Adrian Grant.

He opened his eyes and coincidentally saw Raina very close in front of him, suddenly feeling a warm surge through his body, Adam’s apple moving.

Raina Lowell still retained the act of pulling his hair, stiff, with only her eyeballs moving.

"If I said I treated you as my son, would you believe it?"

Adrian Grant: "You think I’d believe it?"

Raina Lowell felt awkward, quickly retracting her hand and lying back.

"If you don’t believe it, fine, let’s sleep!"

Her guilty appearance made it impossible for the man beside her to sleep peacefully again.

Especially when she approached, a fragrant scent wafted.

Adrian Grant thought he had strong self-control.

At least after not being a couple with Raina anymore, he certainly wouldn’t long for her body.

But at this moment, he really wanted her.

He raised his hand to hold Raina Lowell’s hand, gazing deeply into her eyes.

"You said before you loved me, is it true?"

If it’s true, he’ll find a way to break off the engagement with Isabelle Everett and return to her soon.

Raina Lowell felt nauseated, pulled her hand away and turned her back on him, "Let’s sleep, I’m tired."

Adrian Grant didn’t give up, leaned close to her, breathing with ambiguity:

"Raina, if you still want to be with me, just wait a while. I’ll quickly resolve the matter between me and Isabelle Everett."

He so wanted to always be with this little woman.

If it hadn’t been necessary, how could he have possibly divorced?

Raina Lowell was unwilling to even glance at him.

Hearing his words made her feel even more disgusted.

Too lazy to respond, she pulled the quilt over her head and slept.

Without getting a response from Raina, Adrian Grant, though slightly disappointed, accepted her wishes, not disturbing her rest.

The next day.

After Adrian Grant left for the company, Raina Lowell took the hair straight to the hospital.

Coincidentally, Ethan Everett, arriving to deliver breakfast to Isabelle Everett, saw her.

Afraid she came to harm Isabelle, Ethan Everett followed her for a distance, only to find she was headed to the DNA testing center.

Unclear what Raina Lowell was doing at the DNA testing center, Ethan Everett didn’t interfere but turned to Isabelle Everett’s ward.

When he arrived, he relayed the matter to Isabelle Everett.

"I saw Raina Lowell downstairs; she went to the testing center. This kind of woman probably doesn’t even know who her child’s father is, perhaps she’s testing every man to find out."

Isabelle Everett lifted her head, staring at Ethan Everett, "What did you say?"

"I said Raina Lowell is at the paternity testing center downstairs."

Isabelle Everett’s face turned pale.

Could Raina Lowell know that Adrian Grant is the father?

Considering Raina Lowell has been with Adrian Grant these days, maybe she suspects something and went to test.

She absolutely couldn’t let Raina Lowell discover that Adrian Grant was the father; otherwise, Adrian Grant would definitely help her investigate the kidnapping of the children.

If it leads to her, she would be doomed.

Isabelle Everett took the breakfast Ethan Everett handed her, found an excuse to make him leave.

"Brother, I’d still like some fruit, can you buy me two pounds?"

Ethan Everett didn’t think much of it, agreeing to her request.

As soon as he left, Isabelle Everett quickly called someone to bribe the doctors at the testing center.

After Raina Lowell submitted the samples for testing, she encountered Ethan Everett while leaving at the door.

She pretended not to see him, bypassing to leave.

Yet Ethan Everett stepped forward to block her, face filled with cold ruthlessness.

"Raina Lowell, you hurt Isabelle, and you’re so shamelessly indifferent?"

Indifferent was one thing, but now Adrian Grant even stood up for her.

She sure knows how to find backup.

If today this woman voluntarily went to apologize to Isabelle, he could let her off lightly.

Otherwise, he’d make her suffer inexplicably.

Raina Lowell looked at Ethan Everett.

For some reason, every time she saw him, she felt a deep sense of familiarity.

But remembering he was Isabelle Everett’s brother, she could only maintain a cold demeanor, rudely saying:

"If Isabelle hadn’t treated me like that, I wouldn’t have hurt her. If it’s truly my fault, the law will punish me, please step aside."
