Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 12: There Are Hickeys on His Neck
CHAPTER 12: CHAPTER 12: THERE ARE HICKEYS ON HIS NECK
The next second, Raina Lowell saw the call record being cut off.
She called again, but it indicated that the line was busy.
She was really blocked.
Does Adrian Grant hate her so much now? It’s not enough that he doesn’t want to see her; he even wants to separate her from the children.
She had no idea where Adrian Grant would be going with Isabelle Everett so late.
Raina Lowell sat alone on the sofa in the living room, filled with despair.
Her heart felt like it was being pierced by a needle, with pain and bitterness spreading continuously.
Madam Cole came to persuade her several times to rest, but she remained motionless.
Thinking about the contract Adrian Grant had her sign, she thought if she went to the company, she would surely see Adrian Grant.
Early the next morning, Raina Lowell freshened up and went directly to the company.
During the five years she had spent with The Grant Family, old Master Grant liked Raina Lowell and would often take her to the company to show her face.
So in The Grant Group, all employees with more than four years of tenure recognized Raina Lowell’s fresh and bright face.
They thought she was the Little Princess of The Grant Family, the sister of Adrian Grant.
When Raina Lowell arrived at the front desk, the receptionist greeted her with great respect, nodding her head:
"Miss, good day, are you looking for the Chairman or the President?"
Raina Lowell knew their respect for her stemmed from the many times her grandfather brought her here.
She responded politely, "I’m looking for Adrian Grant."
"Alright, this way please, I’ll take you to the elevator."
Without needing an appointment, the receptionist directly led her into the VIP elevator.
The elevator went straight to the floor of the President’s office.
Just as Raina Lowell stepped out of the elevator, she ran into Adrian Grant’s special assistant, Caleb Landon.
Thinking about how her two children were taken away by Caleb Landon.
She panicked, losing composure as she rushed over to grab Caleb Landon, refusing to let go.
"Assistant Landon, where did you take them? Can you tell me?"
Caleb Landon glanced at the entire secretary office because of Raina Lowell’s appearance, dozens of eyes swept over them.
He lowered his voice and told Raina Lowell, "Come into the President’s office and we’ll talk."
Raina Lowell also understood that her matter couldn’t be publicized.
Otherwise, it would bring a great impact on both Adrian Grant and The Grant Corporation.
She obediently followed him into the office.
But inside the office, there was no Adrian Grant.
Looking at Caleb Landon, Raina Lowell impatiently asked again:
"Tell me, where have you taken Aurora and Evelyn? They’re alright, aren’t they?"
Caleb Landon, also only about thirty, dressed in a sharp suit, looked proper.
Looking at Raina Lowell, he involuntarily sighed:
"I’m very sorry, I did so on the President’s orders, but Madam, you shouldn’t have kept it from the President."
"Do you know what your actions mean to a man or even a husband?"
What man can tolerate his wife, who once gave birth to children for someone else, keeping it a secret?
Moreover, our President is such a proud and noble person.
To marry Raina Lowell, an orphan, he already lowered himself significantly.
In the end, this woman not only bore children for someone else but also kept it hidden, raising someone else’s children outside.
Caleb Landon thought of it with anger, and naturally, their President was even less able to tolerate it.
Raina Lowell did not want to argue.
She just wanted her children.
She was somewhat emotionally agitated, exhausted from a sleepless night, she kept asking:
"Just tell me where you’ve sent them, what right do you have to take my children?"
If she couldn’t see Aurora and Evelyn again, she would go insane.
After a torturous night, she didn’t want to wait any longer.
Caleb Landon also knew that as a mother, suddenly losing her children, she must be worried and anxious.
He spoke the truth, "The children are safe, the nanny you hired is taking good care of them, but I can’t tell you where they are."
"If you want to see them, you should first seek the President’s forgiveness!"
Raina Lowell was so anxious she was about to cry.
"How can I plead when Adrian Grant won’t even give me a chance, he clearly wants to push me to the brink."
If she had known Adrian Grant would be so cold and ruthless, she wouldn’t have agreed to get the marriage certificate with him back then, no matter what.
Thinking about last night, Adrian Grant being with Isabelle Everett tore her heart apart.
Caleb Landon handed her a tablet.
"The President drank too much last night, and might come in later, do your duties according to the schedule listed.
Make sure the President doesn’t dwell on your past so you might get to see your children."
Raina Lowell took the tablet, looking at Caleb Landon with tears in her eyes.
"Could you secretly tell me where they are? I won’t say it was you, can I just glance at them from a distance?"
Caleb Landon shook his head in refusal.
He reminded her, "For the reputation of the President and The Grant Family, and the company, you shouldn’t be in contact with the children recently."
"Especially this matter must not be known by the Old Master, otherwise you know the President’s means."
He opened the door and left.
He had no sympathy for the tears brimming in Raina Lowell’s eyes.
Raina Lowell staggered a step, almost collapsing from weakness.
Should she beg for Adrian Grant’s forgiveness?
How should she plead?
Should she kneel, or threaten with her life, or stay by his side as a servant?
Thinking of the labor contract Adrian Grant had her sign with the company, wasn’t it just to trap her by his side as a servant?
To please that man’s satisfaction, Raina Lowell carefully studied the schedule and notes on the tablet.
At ten in the morning, the door to the President’s office was pushed open.
Raina Lowell instinctively got up from the sofa and saw Adrian Grant coming in.
She tried to stay calm, not mentioning the children first, quickly going to brew a cup of coffee as he likes.
When she brought the coffee over and gently placed it beside Adrian Grant’s documents.
Raina Lowell clearly saw a hickey on his neck.
So bright and noticeable, as if freshly marked this morning.
Thinking of him being with Isabelle Everett last night, Raina Lowell suddenly felt an aching weight on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Yet she held back her discomfort and concern, speaking in a husky voice:
"Adrian Grant, I can stay by your side and do anything, but can you let me see my children?"
Adrian Grant didn’t look at her.
His eyes focused on the pile of documents on the desk, pretending to review.
But he couldn’t deceive himself; hearing Raina Lowell talk about her children made him feel as if sharp needles were stabbing into his chest.
The sharp pain piercing his heart felt suffocating.
In the end, he couldn’t hold it in, his bloodshot eyes coldly glaring at Raina Lowell.
"Who is the children’s father? Did you get involved with him after going abroad?"
Raina Lowell was in a daze.
She dared not recall that night four years ago.
Nor could she let anyone know she gave birth to a rapist’s child.
Lowering her head, she suppressed her emotions, her voice choked with sobs:
"He was my senior, he was nice to me, so we just..."
Adrian Grant couldn’t bear to hear her talking about her and another man.
He immediately raised his hand, cutting her off, struggling to hold back the erupting emotions.
"I really want to kill you and those two kids, do you know that? How could you be so shameless, having another man’s children, and yet being so captivated under me."
He felt she was filthy.
Thinking of every night spent entwined with her this past year made him feel utterly disgusted.
