CHAPTER 13: CHAPTER 13: RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER...

Raina Lowell looked at Adrian Grant’s face full of disgust for her, listening to his words of humiliation, and tears fell like a flood.

"Are you blaming me? I never thought of coming back to be your wife again. You could cancel our engagement for Isabelle Everett, so why can’t I have children with someone else?"

Four years ago, if he hadn’t taken her to the club, would she have been drugged and assaulted?

If he hadn’t taken Isabelle Everett to cancel the engagement in front of Grandpa, would she have gone abroad?

Clearly, she didn’t want to become the mother of two children.

Nor did she want to become like this.

Clearly, he was also at fault, so why was he saying such humiliating things to her now?

Raina Lowell felt her heart breaking into pieces from the pain.

She felt so uncomfortable, she couldn’t help but squat down and cry out loud.

Adrian Grant looked at her.

In an instant, he became violently enraged, sweeping all the files off the desk, grabbing Raina Lowell, and shouting in a restrained rage:

"Do you think I care about you having kids with someone else? What I care about is you deceiving me, hiding it from me. If I didn’t investigate, were you planning to hide it from me for a lifetime?"

"Raina Lowell, do you know you’ve trampled on a man’s dignity?"

"You’re already a mother of two, how can you still pretend to be a shy maiden and get tangled with me, huh?"

He was so violent he really wanted to strangle her.

If she were dead, perhaps he wouldn’t be this furious.

Raina Lowell sobbed, trying hard to stop crying, terrified and not daring to look at him.

"Then what do you want? Separate me and my children? Would that make you happy?"

"What else?"

Adrian Grant disdainfully pushed her away, his tall figure standing before her, as intimidating as a mountain.

"You have nothing but a wretched life. Without the Grant Family, how could you have the ability to study abroad?"

He really didn’t want to see her weepy, pretending to be weak and pitiful.

He turned his back to her, leaving behind the words:

"Get lost, and don’t show up in front of me for the next three days."

Raina Lowell wiped the tears from her cheeks, standing there unwilling to leave.

With bloodshot eyes, she stared at Adrian Grant, "If you don’t let me see my children, I won’t leave."

Adrian Grant clenched his fists, grinding his molars, his handsome face twisted as if about to kill someone.

His back was stiff and straight as he growled, word by word, "I told you to get lost."

"I won’t leave."

Raina Lowell stubbornly held on, unwilling to compromise for her children.

Not allowed to appear for three days.

Which meant she couldn’t see her children for these three days either.

Aurora and Evelyn, if they didn’t see her for three days, who knows how much they would cry.

They were so young, born into an imperfect family from the start, now without a mother’s company.

How is this any different from her childhood without parents?

The roads she walked, she absolutely couldn’t let her children go through again.

Adrian Grant turned around, glaring at her venomously, gritting his teeth.

Ready to go ballistic and have her thrown out.

Raina Lowell lowered her head, threatening:

"If you don’t let me see them, I’ll go confess everything to Grandpa. I believe Grandpa will stand up for me."

Grandpa doted on her so much, even if she had someone else’s children, he might be disappointed.

But he surely wouldn’t keep her and the children apart.

If it comes to that, she really has no other choice but to ask Grandpa for help.

"You wouldn’t dare."

Adrian Grant stepped forward, grabbing her wrist violently, his eyes like sharp blades, coldly piercing her.

"If Grandpa knew you had two kids out of wedlock, he might die from anger. If you dare go to him, I’ll just kill your two kids."

Raina Lowell met his gaze, eyes red with anger, "You wouldn’t dare."

"If you don’t behave, watch and see if I dare."

Adrian Grant flung her aside again.

Despite his anger, he knew very well that this couldn’t be brought to the elders.

Otherwise, where would his face be?

Suppressing the rage in his chest, he had no choice but to compromise.

"Go out and do your primary job."

Raina Lowell still stood motionless, her delicate, fair face puffed with stubbornness.

"I want to see my children."

Adrian Grant was about to explode with anger, gritting his teeth and yelling, "Do you believe I’ll have them killed now."

Raina Lowell was really afraid he’d act recklessly, hurriedly squatting down to pick up the papers on the floor.

After tidying up, she quickly left the office.

The moment she stepped out, Adrian Grant couldn’t help but erupt again.

The previously suppressed violence and impulse were all vented on the items across the table.

Not long after, the whole spacious and luxurious office was a total mess.

Raina Lowell was at the door.

That was where her workstation was.

Her duty was as Adrian Grant’s executive assistant.

She was both secretary and assistant, but only responsible for Adrian Grant’s life, attire, and itinerary reporting.

Other arrangements, Caleb Landon would handle and pass on to her.

As lunchtime approached, Raina Lowell adjusted her mindset and went to prepare lunch for Adrian Grant.

When she returned, she found her coworkers in the secretary office looking at her differently.

Raina Lowell knew that being parachuted in as Adrian Grant’s assistant would invite gossip.

She didn’t want to interact with them, so she carried the food into the office.

But the chaos before her, and not far away, at the sofa, Isabelle Everett was dining with Adrian Grant.

Made her just-relaxed heart tense up again.

Were they not pretending anymore, being so overt?

Raina Lowell knew that Adrian Grant loved Isabelle Everett in his heart.

But despite being not yet divorced, Adrian Grant so blatantly being with Isabelle Everett still bothered her terribly.

Instead of going up and asserting her claim, Raina Lowell awkwardly backed out of the office, shutting the door.

She thought she wouldn’t care about Isabelle Everett’s presence.

But seeing them under her nose made her heartache like it’s being torn apart.

To prevent others from noticing her abnormality, Raina Lowell buried her head, wanting to head to the bathroom.

But before she could leave, the office door opened.

Isabelle Everett, elegant and radiant, with exquisite makeup.

Wearing designer heels, proud and confident, she exuded glamour.

She looked at Raina Lowell, a hint of disdain in her eyes, "Adrian wants you to come in and clean up."

Raina Lowell really wanted to ignore it.

But her two children were in Adrian Grant’s hands, and if she didn’t do as he said, who knew what he might do to them.

Raina Lowell bravely walked past Isabelle Everett into the office, sensibly starting to clean up the mess on the floor.

Isabelle Everett looked at her condescendingly.

She really couldn’t understand why Adrian Grant would keep such a woman by his side.

Very concerned, Isabelle Everett obnoxiously stepped away from the mess, coming to sit beside Adrian Grant, feigning sympathy.

"Adrian, why have Raina do such work? No matter what, she’s still your sister."

Adrian Grant and Raina Lowell had been married for a year, unbeknownst to others.

Even Isabelle Everett always thought that as long as Adrian Grant was still with her, she had a chance to climb up and become Mrs. Grant.

But now leaving Raina Lowell by his side, she was getting anxious.

Adrian Grant didn’t even glance at Raina Lowell, coldly replying:

"She’s not my sister, she doesn’t deserve it."

"Huh? What happened?"

Isabelle Everett glanced at Raina Lowell, deliberately asking, "Did you and Raina have a fight?"

Adrian Grant, a bit impatient, yet actively hugged Isabelle Everett’s slender waist, drawing close, his tone flirtatious:

"When we’re together, don’t mention others, it’s unlucky."
