Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 2: Her Two Children
CHAPTER 2: CHAPTER 2: HER TWO CHILDREN
Raina Lowell looked at those two children, her heart a mix of emotions.
They were born three years ago, but she didn’t know who their father was.
Four years ago, at the age of 20, during Adrian Grant’s birthday banquet, she was drugged and had an encounter with a stranger in the dark.
Upon returning home, she overheard Adrian Grant discussing breaking off the engagement with her grandfather.
At that moment, Raina Lowell knew that she and Adrian Grant were impossible.
So she chose to go abroad.
Unexpectedly, just two months after going abroad, she found out she was pregnant with twins.
Raina Lowell didn’t want to keep the children.
But the doctor said if she aborted them, she might never have the chance to be a mother again.
She had a difficult condition for pregnancy.
Raina Lowell thought she and Adrian Grant would never have any emotional entanglements again in this life.
Nor was she likely to marry anyone else.
So she gave birth abroad.
When the children were two, Adrian Grant personally contacted her.
He said her grandfather was critically ill.
As soon as she returned to Southgate, she was taken by Adrian Grant to the civil affairs bureau to register for marriage.
Raina Lowell was unwilling but learned her grandfather was dying.
Before passing, he wished to see her marry Adrian Grant.
To fulfill the old man’s wish, Raina Lowell had no choice but to agree.
No one expected that even though they got married, her grandfather’s health improved day by day, and the matter of divorce kept being postponed.
Raina Lowell dared not let anyone know she had given birth.
She calmly acted as Adrian’s wife for a year without him finding out.
At this moment, looking at her two children, Raina Lowell realized she must divorce and leave.
Otherwise, she couldn’t imagine the consequences if Adrian Grant found out about the children.
The two little ones, upon seeing their mom approaching, were overjoyed and ran toward her on their short little legs.
"Mommy, Mommy..."
Their voices were soft and sweet, melting one’s heart.
No matter her thoughts, Raina Lowell still crouched down to embrace them.
Aurora and Evelyn, dashing into their mom’s embrace, each planted a kiss on her cheek, softly asking:
"Mommy, why did you come back so late today?"
Aurora, the older sister, was well-behaved and delightful, like a little porcelain doll.
Especially her big round eyes with double eyelids, lively and adorable, very endearing.
"Mommy is really hardworking, let me give Mommy a back rub."
The speaker was Evelyn, also the younger brother.
Though the brother was a bit skinnier, he was also quite good-looking, with a face like a peeled egg, exuding a pinkish glow.
The brother was more composed and intelligent than the sister, perceptive of others’ moods.
He understood well how to please Mommy.
Even though Raina Lowell was crouching, both little ones were not as tall as she was, yet they affectionately circled her to give her a back rub.
Such thoughtful and considerate children, how could she not soften towards them?
Raina Lowell held the children’s hands, leading them to sit on the couch, accompanying them in reading and learning words.
The nanny beside them smiled and said:
"Miss Lowell is truly blessed to have such obedient and lovely, as well as understanding twins."
Plus, they’re only three years old.
It’s said children at this age are challenging, yet Aurora and Evelyn are different, exceptionally obedient.
When adults aren’t around, they would read and learn words on their own.
They would even prepare gifts for their mom by themselves.
Having cared for many children, I can say these two are the most attractive and well-behaved I’ve ever seen.
Raina Lowell only smiled.
In truth, the existence of these two children was a conflict in her heart.
Sometimes she resented their presence, resented their father.
She also resented why she decided to give birth to them in the first place.
Yet when actually separated from them, she missed them dearly, fearing they weren’t well-fed or warmly dressed.
So she hid their existence from Adrian Grant and brought them back from abroad to Southgate.
She only hoped that before she divorced Adrian Grant, he wouldn’t discover they existed.
After spending an hour with the children,
Raina Lowell glanced at the time; it was getting late.
She had to return to the home she shared with Adrian Grant and quickly finalize their divorce.
Returning to Lowell Manor.
It was very late.
Raina Lowell had just entered the villa when Madam Cole hurriedly handed her slippers, whispering:
"Madam, why did you come back so late? Sir has been waiting for you for a long time."
Raina Lowell was a bit incredulous, "Adrian Grant is back?"
"Yes, he’s waiting for you in the dining room to have dinner."
Madam Cole informed her that Mr. Grant was quite unhappy and asked her to quickly go and appease him.
Raina Lowell, after changing shoes and removing her coat, crossed the foyer.
Sure enough, she saw in the lavish and spacious dining room, the man dressed in a blue vest and black shirt, sitting there gracefully, working.
Raina Lowell didn’t deny it; he truly had allure.
His innate nobility and calm demeanor marked him as a successful figure in high society.
Moreover, he possessed such a sharply handsome face, with strikingly chiseled features, and a taut, flowing jawline.
He was just sitting there, his long, slender fingers with well-defined knuckles typing swiftly on the keyboard.
His focused, abstinent demeanor was mesmerizing.
Raina Lowell realized that although her affection for him had been fading since she went abroad,
after living as a normal couple with him for a year, she had fallen for him irretrievably again.
If it weren’t for Isabelle Everett and those two children she had outside, she truly wished to spend the rest of her life with him.
The man noticed her presence, closed his laptop, and feigned sternness.
"What kind of work do you do every day, that keeps you out from morning till night?"
He wasn’t even this busy.
For a year now, even he didn’t know what this little woman was out doing every day.
Raina Lowell braced herself, walked over, and with a stern face, answered off-topic:
"I waited for you at the civil affairs bureau all day, why didn’t you appear?"
Since he and Isabelle Everett kissed in public, and she no longer wanted to live on edge with him.
So, this marriage must end.
"I thought you were just joking."
Adrian Grant rarely showed patience, motioning towards the seat opposite him, commanding:
"How big of a fuss hasn’t subsided yet? Sit down and eat."
Raina Lowell stood still, her attitude firm, "Adrian Grant, I’m not joking with you, I want a divorce."
Adrian Grant’s expression finally turned serious.
His eyes also became cold and intimidating.
"Raina Lowell, don’t make me angry, even a tantrum must know its limits."
He still couldn’t understand; he only celebrated Isabelle Everett’s birthday, how could it anger her so?
If he truly had anything with Isabelle Everett, would it even be possible for her to be Mrs. Grant?
Adrian Grant figured, this little woman’s young, he could tolerate her antics.
So he didn’t hold it against her.
But Raina Lowell was determined and left behind a message:
"My mind is made up; I’m packing my things now. Even if you don’t agree to the divorce, I won’t live here with you any longer."
