CHAPTER 36: CHAPTER 36: RAINA LOWELL CONFESSES—UNABLE TO CONCEIVE AGAIN

Elias Sheridan was somewhat puzzled.

He stared at Raina Lowell in confusion, "Why? Have I caused you any trouble?"

He genuinely liked those two children.

Raina Lowell took a cab back to Lowell Manor.

Knowing that Adrian Grant would return from his business trip today, she personally went to the master bedroom to change the sheets and bedding.

She also prepared clothes for Adrian Grant to change into.

She had asked Caleb Landon. It was about an hour before Adrian Grant would be back.

Raina Lowell then personally went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Madam Cole tried to persuade her to rest but was unsuccessful, so she could only assist from the side.

"Why does Madam suddenly think of preparing food for Sir?"

Raina Lowell remained silent and did not answer.

However, he did not reject her approach, even though he knew her purpose was certainly because of her two illegitimate children.

With a stern face, he coldly went to the bathroom.

After putting down the suit jacket, Raina Lowell went to set the tableware.

After Adrian Grant returned from the bathroom, she enthusiastically pulled out a chair for him.

Adrian Grant sat down with pleasure as Madam Cole served the last bowl of rib soup, smiled, and said:

"Sir is in for a treat; these dishes are all personally made by Madam today."

Raina Lowell sat across from him, personally serving Adrian a piece of rib, as if the couple never had any conflicts, returning to behaving courteously like before.

But Adrian Grant was uncomfortable inside, facing Raina Lowell’s gaze, his handsome face cold and arrogant.

"No need for such pretenses, just say what you’re aiming for."

Raina Lowell asked Madam Cole to leave first.

She dared not meet Adrian Grant’s eyes, lowered her head, and said honestly:

"It’s not that I don’t want to give you children, I’ve always wanted to, but I am unable to."

Adrian Grant’s expression slightly changed and he stared at her, "What do you mean?"

Raina Lowell continued:

"Back when I got pregnant with Aurora and Evelyn, I didn’t want them, but the doctor said that if I aborted them, I wouldn’t be able to have children again."

"So I kept them, but still damaged my body severely and can’t conceive anymore."

Adrian Grant fell silent.

The originally cold face suddenly softened a lot.

Looking at Raina Lowell’s eyes, there was even a hint of pity.

So she didn’t want to have children because she couldn’t?

Because her body was frail, afraid she couldn’t become a mother again after an abortion, she gave birth to Aurora and Evelyn?

Adrian Grant buried his head in the food, his mood suddenly turning very complex.

Adrian Grant remained silent.

His dining gestures were elegant and composed, sitting there appeared more stable and noble.

He knew Raina Lowell dared not lie about this matter.

After all, they had been married for a year and never taken any precautions.

If she could get pregnant, she would have long ago.

Thinking about four years ago, he had relations with Isabelle Everett too, he had no right to ask others to remain chaste only for him.

Moreover, he didn’t have any so-called virgin complex.

"Adrian, I am willing to do whatever you want me to, and I will work hard to earn money and repay you, but don’t separate me from the children, okay?"

Gratefully, she served him more food and sincerely said, "Thank you, I will definitely strive to be a good wife for you in the future."
