Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 4: Paternity Test for the Children
CHAPTER 4: CHAPTER 4: PATERNITY TEST FOR THE CHILDREN
Adrian Grant told Caleb Landon to wait while he went to fetch Raina Lowell’s toothbrush.
As Adrian walked to the bathroom, he saw Raina packing her things, including her toothbrush and comb, into a bag.
Adrian stood by, trying hard to suppress his rage and impulses, and asked coldly:
"Leaving this late?"
Raina didn’t bother to look at him, "I’m going to stay at a hotel."
"Do you need these things to stay at a hotel?"
"I just like using my own."
Raina bypassed him and went to the dressing room.
Her attitude, coupled with what Caleb said earlier, made Adrian feel as if his heart was pierced by a sharp weapon.
The feeling was both sour and suffocating.
Adrian followed her to the dressing room.
He saw Raina making final preparations, really about to leave.
He stepped forward, abruptly grabbed Raina’s hand, and pressed her against the door of the wardrobe, his tall figure easily overshadowing her petite frame.
Adrian’s cold eyes cruelly scrutinized her from above.
"Raina Lowell, do you have someone outside?"
In front of Adrian, Raina truly appeared small.
In fact, she was 168 cm tall.
But standing in front of Adrian at 189 cm, it was like facing a mountain; his presence was so overwhelming that even breathing was difficult.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
Raina’s heart was guilty; she dared not meet his eyes and pouted:
"It was you who were unfaithful in our marriage, cuddling and being intimate with other women."
Adrian forced her chin up to make her look at him.
"I’ll ask you again, do you have someone outside?"
If she told him the truth, he might still be lenient with her.
But if she didn’t speak the truth or purposely concealed it, he definitely wouldn’t let her off easily.
At this moment, there’s only one thought in Raina’s tense mind, and that is divorce from this man.
Only after divorce, even if Adrian finds out she has two children outside, so what, he will no longer have the right to intervene.
She held her breath and insisted:
"I don’t, Adrian, let me go."
Raina struggled, trying to escape from this man quickly.
Adrian controlled his temper and bent down to forcibly kiss her lips.
When Raina resisted unwillingly, he took the opportunity to pull out a few strands of her hair from her head.
Raina felt uncomfortable and hurt, and with effort, pushed him away, then gave him a loud slap.
"Adrian Grant, you bastard."
She hated this man’s dominance and disrespect.
Since he was willing to organize a birthday party for Isabelle Everett and even kissed her in front of so many people.
Why is he touching her now?
Raina didn’t deny that she wasn’t perfectly clean either.
But at least in this marriage, she genuinely loved him.
Hadn’t considered any other man.
But him.
Cheating during marriage, extremely vile.
She no longer wants to live with him.
Adrian endured the slap and gazed deeply into Raina’s eyes, profoundly resentful.
He still didn’t question her about the children, harboring anger as he left.
Handing the hair to Caleb Landon, Adrian instructed:
"This matter must not be known to anyone."
Caleb nodded, took the sample, and quickly left.
When Raina finished packing and carried her luggage downstairs, she saw Adrian sitting on the sofa in the living room, his face cold and stern.
She walked up to him and asked coldly:
"Did you sign the divorce agreement? If you don’t come to the Civil Affairs Bureau with me tomorrow, I won’t be returning to this home anymore."
Anyway, she had made up her mind.
She must cut ties cleanly with this man during this period.
Adrian looked at her coldly.
Thinking that her leaving was possibly really due to those two children outside.
But he kept telling himself that it couldn’t be what Caleb said.
So before things were clear, he absolutely couldn’t act rashly.
He couldn’t do anything to this little woman.
Otherwise, given her fragile frame, if anything happened she’d likely be left with nothing.
Adrian sat upright, looking at Raina with a blank expression.
"Do you really want to leave me?"
Raina’s gaze flickered, using Isabelle Everett as a shield.
"You were so eager to celebrate Isabelle Everett’s birthday and kissed her in front of so many people. You clearly can’t let her go."
"I’ll grant you what you want; please leave me alone."
She clearly remembers, four years ago, this man broke off his engagement with her because of Isabelle.
If not for grandfather’s intervention, Adrian would have married Isabelle.
She ought to know her place, that it’s time to vacate the seat of Mrs. Grant and return it to Isabelle.
Adrian still worked hard to restrain his temper.
And forced himself not to let his mind wander.
Until the DNA identification was completed, he didn’t have the right to say anything.
Tight-lipped, Adrian sat there; though he appeared cold and imposing.
The tone he spoke with was still gentle.
"If you want to move out, I won’t stop you. For the divorce, you should first explain it clearly to grandfather. If he agrees, I won’t delay you."
Raina was taken aback for a moment.
Unexpectedly, Adrian was willing.
Looks like if it weren’t for grandfather, he might even want to leave faster than she did!
Since the other party agreed, what else should she brood over?
Raina nodded in agreement, "Okay, I’ll go to grandfather tomorrow to explain everything."
For some reason, even though she initiated the divorce and insisted on moving out.
Now that the other party agreed, she felt a surge of inexplicable bitterness in her heart.
Without hesitation, Raina carried her luggage and walked out the door without looking back.
Madam Cole saw her off.
Afterward, she returned to stand beside Adrian Grant and said worriedly:
"Sir, what happened between you and the madam that you want to divorce? And it’s so late at night; where can the madam go?"
Was Adrian inwardly feeling uncomfortable?
If he hadn’t known Raina had another family outside, how could he let her leave in the middle of the night?
He took out his phone and checked Raina’s location.
He wanted to see if Raina was heading back to that family she had outside.
Madam Cole continued to say:
"Sir, no matter what conflict you have with the madam, you shouldn’t let her leave at night. And if something unexpected happens..."
Adrian shot her a cold glance.
Causing Madam Cole to not dare to say more, quickly lowered her head and retreated.
Until he saw Raina indeed driving towards the Stardust Bay neighborhood, Adrian nearly smashed his phone in anger.
Damn it.
She really went to be with the two children.
She actually hid from him, having a family outside, raising two children.
Adrian felt like a giant stone was blocking his chest, suppressing and discomforting.
That night, he still couldn’t fall asleep.
Early the next morning, Adrian Grant personally went to Stardust Bay.
He found the door to apartment 2526 rented under Raina’s name.
Like a peeping tom, he hid behind the stairwell door, waiting for apartment 2526’s door to open.
At eight in the morning, that door finally opened.
Adrian saw with his own eyes Raina come out from inside.
Beside her were two children.
The children held her hand, unwilling to let go, sweetly saying:
"Mommy, you go out to work every day, it’s so tiring."
"Mommy should come back early."
"Mommy, we love you!"
