CHAPTER 7: CHAPTER 7: SHE ACTUALLY HID IT FROM HIM AND HAD CHILDREN WITH SOMEONE ELSE

Adrian was a bit in disbelief at what he heard.

He stomped on the brakes and asked on the phone, "Are you sure there’s no mistake?"

Caleb was very certain, "No mistake, those two kids were indeed born by your wife."

Adrian glanced at the passenger seat, where the frightened woman lunged forward due to inertia.

His chest was instantly ablaze with anger.

But he held it in, maintaining his usual calm and gentlemanly demeanor.

After hanging up, he said nothing and still dropped Raina off at the mall.

Raina felt something unusual about the man beside her.

His face was as unpredictable as the weather outside.

She remained silent throughout the journey until they arrived at the mall, where the car parked by the roadside.

As she got out, she said to Adrian:

"Thank you for driving me here."

Adrian’s cold eyes pierced into her.

He really wanted to grab her and ask about the children.

But he refrained, speeding off towards the company.

In the CEO’s office.

Adrian snatched the report Caleb handed him.

As he read the black-and-white text showing that the cumulative paternity index (CPI) of the kids with Raina was over 10,000, and the relationship probability (RCP) was equal to or greater than 99.99%.

Seeing the test confirmed a maternal relationship, he was so angry he couldn’t breathe, almost suffocating.

Adrian leaned on the desk, taking several deep breaths to steady his breathing.

He still couldn’t accept that the woman he married over a year ago had already borne two children with an unknown father.

Heartbroken, he asked Caleb, "Can we still not find out who their father is?"

Caleb replied:

"Because the children were born abroad and it seems she planned it well, there’s no trace of the two kids’ information abroad."

"So their father’s identity remains a mystery."

Adrian waved him off, indicating there was no need to investigate further.

The children were born by Raina; he would confront her personally.

That damned woman.

How could she hide such a significant matter from him?

Does she think that divorce and leaving him would suffice to cover up the children’s existence?

This time, he definitely won’t let her off easily.

Adrian still struggled to accept the deceit and humiliation.

For the first time, losing his composure, he swept everything off his desk.

His heart inside seemed pierced with agony, making him feel unbearably hurt.

Raina took a taxi back to Stardust Bay after visiting the mall.

Arriving at nine in the morning.

The nanny was playing with the two children in the downstairs garden.

Raina spotted them and called out loudly:

"Aurora, Evelyn."

The two little ones were playing on the slide, and upon hearing her, joyfully ran toward Raina.

"Mom."

Raina squatted down to greet them.

Hugging them close, she felt an uncomfortable sensation in her heart.

She initially thought Adrian would soon divorce her, granting her freedom.

That way, she could reunite with her children without worry.

But Adrian refused to divorce, so she continued returning to Lowell Manor daily.

Hence, her time with the children was limited.

Fortunately, the kids were very obedient.

Raina took them home.

The nanny went to prepare lunch.

Upon entering the kitchen, she glanced at Raina.

She dared not mention someone came inquiring about the children.

After all, she received a handsome payoff.

She hoped the person who visited was indeed the children’s father, so Miss Lowell wouldn’t have to struggle alone.

Raina spent the afternoon with the children, preparing to leave for Lowell Manor when Adrian called.

The voice was icily cold, "I’m at the mall entrance, come out; grandfather wants us back at the old residence."

Upon hearing this, Raina hurried toward the mall.

Lying as she rushed, "But I haven’t finished work, could you wait a bit longer?"

"No need to wait until work’s done; the mall is mine, you can leave anytime, I’ll give you three minutes."

Adrian didn’t allow her more excuses, promptly ending the call.

Raina panicked.

Quickly hailed a taxi to the mall.

But despite her haste, the rush hour and traffic meant an additional thirty-minute delay.

Upon sighting Adrian’s car still parked by the roadside, Raina hurried over and climbed in.

Observing the old man in a suit driving, his cold and distant demeanor radiated an oppressive force.

Aware she’d kept him waiting, Raina apologized.

"I’m sorry, I needed to change after work and made a restroom stop, causing some delay."

Adrian tucked away the phone tracking her, silently and sternly driving away.

He was impressed with himself, maintaining composure upon discovering his wife bore another man’s children, deceived him, and lied.

Maybe his maturity and patience led him to forgive his young wife.

And that sustained his tolerance.

Raina still sensed Adrian’s displeasure.

Softly, she suggested:

"Next time, tell me beforehand when picking me up, so you don’t have to wait long."

"Since we’re visiting grandfather, with that long face, he might think we’re having relationship troubles."

Grandfather remained her sole relative in this world; she didn’t want him worrying about her.

Regarding her children abroad, she never intended to confess to grandfather.

Adrian snorted, staring ahead.

His handsome features were as cold as ice, lips tightly shut, and his firm grip on the steering wheel had fingertips turning white.

In his eyes, unseen by Raina, a crimson hue emerged.

Even his voice turned raspy:

"Raina Lowell, over the past year, have I treated you poorly?"

Raina met his gaze, unsure why he’d ask such a question.

She couldn’t deny the harmony in their married life over the year.

Though lacking typical conjugal affection, Adrian certainly provided for her.

She lowered her head, an inexplicable panic rising.

"What do you want to say?"

Adrian angrily ground his teeth, wanting to confront her about the two illegitimate children.

Considering they were about to meet grandfather.

He feared their issue might worsen grandfather’s illness, so he swallowed back his words.

Responding, "Nothing, just a thankless wretch."

How could she not be a thankless wretch?

The Grant Family supported her for five years, funded her studies abroad.

Yet she went ahead, secretly giving birth to two bastards abroad.

Returning home, she concealed it, shamelessly being his wife for a year.

Adrian mocked his own foolishness.

A whole year had passed before discovering Raina’s illegitimate children abroad.

If not for her mentioning divorce, and his investigation.

Raina might’ve continued hiding it from him indefinitely.

Realizing the depth of her scheming, manipulating him at will.

Adrian felt the urge to destroy her and those children.

Raina felt a sudden stab in her heart, eyeing Adrian, discerning his reference might be about divorce.

With furrowed brows, she defiantly stated:

"I know I’ve benefited greatly from the Grant Family; if you think my divorce demands are too much, I’ll leave with nothing."
