Sweet like Wine: Love Your Dimples Even More
Chapter 47 - 27: Silence, That Exciting Silence
CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 27: SILENCE, THAT EXCITING SILENCE
"WOW! Summer is really as cool as you said, darling! This is just amazing! Your mom, I’ve been bored to death looking at your brother’s indifferent gentleman face all day." Talia Tate’s way of first meeting was even more enthusiastic than Summer Fairmont imagined.
Before Artie Vaughn could "attach" herself to Summer Fairmont, Talia Tate directly took Summer’s arm and led her inside:
"Summer Darling, if you marry into our family, you can be as cool as you want every day, so cool that even Artie Darling wouldn’t dare to pout. You don’t know, if that girl comes back for a day or two it’s fine, but if she stays longer, I really can’t stand her habit of pouting."
Talia Tate said she couldn’t stand Artie’s pouting, but her way of talking was just a bit less embellished than The Pouting Siren, that’s all.
Summer Fairmont chose silence once again. This time not only because her Chinese wasn’t great, but also because she didn’t know how to face a senior who keeps calling her "darling."
"Summer Darling is truly too cool! No wonder Artie loves being with you so much. If I had such a cool friend by my side, I would definitely be filled with anticipation for life every day."
Summer Fairmont felt a bit guilty, even though she’s not a very polite person, she still doesn’t wish to not give the basic response in such a situation.
She could tell that Talia Tate had no ill intentions towards her.
Perhaps, it’s because she never had a role in her memory that could be called "mom."
Thinking it over, Summer finally searched through her Chinese vocabulary and found a somewhat versatile word.
"Thank you."
These two words were the only ones Summer could think of and say since she entered the house.
Talia Tate’s expression after hearing this was like this - ヾ(Ő∀Ő๑)ノ.
Her words were like this - "WOW! This is just too cool! Even saying thank you, is Summer Darling this cool? If there was such a cool darling in our family, even the air would have the scent of happiness."
Summer Fairmont finally understood why Artie has such a sunny personality.
Inheritance is too powerful.
Logically, it’s understandable that Artie was well-protected.
But Talia Tate experienced her husband’s death and the turmoil at Winters Spirits, she even hovered near death, yet she still maintains a youthful innocence and romance which is quite admirable.
Winters suddenly passed away five years ago, Talia Tate hadn’t even accepted the reality before she ended up in the ICU.
After hovering at death’s door for a month, from the day she was discharged, Talia Tate began to face life more positively.
Perhaps, it’s precisely because she was so close to death that she truly feels everything can be let go.
She doesn’t want her son to suffer too much.
While guarding her fearing something might happen, he also had to hide it from his sister.
While preventing a bunch of elders at the company eager to watch the drama, he also had to deal with competitors eyeing Winters Spirits.
These tasks were nearly impossible "missions" for Leo Vaughn who had just turned eighteen a week.
Just like the doctor said, Talia Tate’s multi-organ failure was almost impossible to recover from ICU.
Leo rushed back just to see Talia for one last time.
But Leo didn’t want to accept this reality, even with heartbeats and breathing stopped, he insisted on using ECMO to keep his mom alive.
He already had no father, he couldn’t accept him and Artie becoming orphans in just a few days.
Thus, over the span of a month, Leo’s vigilance gave Talia the will to live. She was not only Winters’ wife but also a mother to two children.
Talia created a miracle of life, which gave Leo great motivation.
After being discharged, Talia’s health was not as good as before, she felt what she could do was not to be a burden to anyone and to provide her son all the support and advice she could.
Talia grew up in a honey pot, never experiencing storms, and she married a very loving husband.
But when the real storm comes, the honey pot can still be a haven for her children.
Sometimes, excessive enthusiasm can be uncomfortable.
Summer Fairmont felt a bit at a loss with Talia Tate’s enthusiasm, but strangely she didn’t feel uncomfortable.
Just like how Artie’s constant pouting can make some people uncomfortable.
Artie knew this too, so when dealing with most people, she pays attention to her way of speaking and tries to avoid being labeled "excessive."
But Summer Fairmont felt the same about Artie; no matter how The Pouting Siren unleashed her energy, Summer wouldn’t feel uncomfortable.
The Devilish Lolita rose up the ranks of the pouting world because of Summer’s indulgence.
Talia’s constant "Summer Darling" didn’t make Summer feel uncomfortable.
But at this moment, the atmosphere at Artie’s house was indeed a bit strange.
Silence, that exciting silence.
The less Summer spoke, the more excited Talia became.
Over excitement is extremely dangerous for Talia’s current health condition.
"Mom, can you calm down a bit~ Hurry to the kitchen to see if anything’s unfinished, I’m taking Summer to my room for a tour." Artie took Summer to the elevator, heading for the third floor before Talia became overly excited.
An area of 160 square meters that’s pink to the point of being princess-like was more than over the top, but that’s not all of Artie’s room.
Pushing open a secret door behind the pink bathroom revealed a playroom nearly the size of Artie’s room.
"Summer, this is the biggest secret of Artie’s room, feel free to choose any doll you like, whichever one Summer likes Artie will send to you."
On the way back from the hospital, Artie had been preoccupied with a particular sentence.
In Master Sean Lowell’s hospital room, those three words Summer used to end Sean’s hope—"No dolls."
