Chapter 43: Some Things Can Be Self-Taught
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: SOME THINGS CAN BE SELF-TAUGHT
Qin Guanglin stood downstairs for a while, guessing which floor He Fang might live on. Of course, he couldn’t figure it out and realized he was looking at the girls’ dormitory building. He quickly lowered his head and turned to leave.
What a perfect 520... It seemed like something was missing? A bunch of flowers?
Next time, he would make it up to her with two bunches!
He ambled to the bus stop, took the bus back, and as soon as Qin Guanglin entered the door, he saw Qin’s Mom still sitting on the sofa. Hearing him, she turned off the TV and looked back at him.
"Are you back?"
"Yeah, why aren’t you asleep?"
Qin’s Mom patted the sofa, "Sit here."
"What’s wrong?" Qin Guanglin sat down as told and seeing Qin’s Mom’s serious face, he couldn’t help but ask, "What happened?"
"You... cough!" Qin’s Mom cleared her throat, "He Fang... that..."
"Hmm?" Qin Guanglin frowned, "What about He Fang?"
Qin’s Mom looked solemn and thought for a moment, "How far have you two progressed... cough!" She cleared her throat again, "...To what extent?"
She hadn’t planned to meddle in the young people’s affairs, but seeing the trend that seemed problematic, the two had been shut in the room all day until late. She didn’t know what they were doing in there and she couldn’t sit still. She had to talk about it to prevent this kid from making a mistake.
"How far have we progressed?" Qin Guanglin’s face turned red, "Just to the extent you saw."
"Why are you blushing?!" Qin’s Mom’s expression grew even more serious as she glared at Qin Guanglin. "Did you do something to her?"
"What could I have done?" Qin Guanglin looked around and stood up, avoiding eye contact with his mother, "I’m going back to my room. You should sleep early."
His behavior only made Qin’s Mom more suspicious, and suddenly she became furious, "Sit down!"
"..."
Qin Guanglin obediently sat down, feeling uncomfortable. With nowhere to put his hands, he simply shoved them into his pockets.
"You only ever cause trouble!"
Slap! Slap!
Qin’s Mom, infuriated by his demeanor, slapped his back twice, "She’s still in school! Haven’t I talked to you about this?!"
"Why am I the bad guy..." Qin Guanglin shrank his neck and grimaced, not daring to move, "Don’t talk nonsense."
Qin’s Mom was furious. After chatting with He Fang that night, she liked the girl even more—capable and sensible, also hailing from a single-parent family, all alone and studying in Luo City. It would be great if the two could end up together, but how could this kid just ruin her like that?
That’s outrageous!
If he really did that, this kid would be utterly immoral!
Seeing Qin’s Mom’s hostile gaze, Qin Guanglin hurriedly explained, "We did nothing, just hugged..."
"Do you think I’m a fool?!" Qin’s Mom grew angrier and slapped him again, "You two hugged all day and did nothing?"
"Nothing!" Qin Guanglin argued stiffly.
"Really?" Qin’s Mom was skeptical; the kid seldom lied.
"Really!"
"Behave yourself!" Qin’s Mom’s anger subsided a bit, "Loitering around until late just to hug in the room?"
"What else could we have done?" Qin Guanglin complained, though they did also kiss, which was embarrassing to admit.
What else could there be? If I want to do anything extra, I need to get Qin’s mom’s permission first, or He Fang will have to scold him first.
Qin’s Mom felt a bit embarrassed, she really thought too much. That fool, even if he had the intention, he didn’t have the guts. She was sitting right in the living room, what could he possibly do?
"Was it really just a hug?"
"Really..." Qin Guanglin drew out his words. What was there to question about this?
"Then why were you both blushing when I came out to drink water?" Qin’s Mom thought of something else and felt it wasn’t that simple.
"It was just... just a hug on the sofa." Qin Guanglin continued to defend his innocence.
"You definitely weren’t being honest and were handsy with her." Qin’s Mom glared at him, sure that the obedient He Fang couldn’t resist him. This guy is slyly bad.
"How is hugging being dishonest? She’s my girlfriend, and I’m going to marry her."
"To marry her, you need to treat her well. How is bullying her okay?" Qin’s Mom interpreted being handsy as bullying.
"Okay, okay, I won’t bully her." Qin Guanglin reluctantly said. If this went on any further, he’d be labeled a rogue, but really, they were both initiating, and how could he explain that frustration?
"You are both still young, don’t do what you shouldn’t do!" Qin’s Mom warned him, "If you dare mess around, I’ll thrash you!"
She was worried that Qin Guanglin might leave a bad impression on He Fang if he were too bold, which wouldn’t be good for either of them.
"I am already twenty-four. I’ve even passed two of my zodiac years." Qin Guanglin fished a fruit candy out of his pocket and handed it to Qin’s Mom, "He Fang gave this to you."
Being with He Fang had indeed improved his emotional intelligence.
"Do you think I’m a fool? She gave me candy to eat?" Qin’s Mom glanced at it and didn’t even take it. "Keep it for yourself."
"I’m going back to sleep then." Qin Guanglin stashed the candy away. Eating it himself was better; he kinda wanted to save it anyway.
"Don’t bully He Fang, or I’ll beat you to death if I find out!" Qin’s Mom continued to warn him from behind.
"Don’t worry."
Qin Guanglin walked into his room and closed the door. Bully her? It was not easy to finally get the upper hand with her, so how could he miss a chance to tease her a little?
Qin’s Mom was still upset looking at his room door. Young people these days, back in her time, even holding hands would make her blush for a long time, and this guy just hugs her straight in a room, utterly shameless!
As for He Fang taking the initiative? Qin’s Mom didn’t even think about it. Such a gentle and polite girl, she was shy even the first time she came home, how could she be like this guy, definitely he must have cheekily forced her into the room...
"Ah, a good relationship, definitely shouldn’t mess it up."
Qin’s Mom murmured to herself as she turned off the living room light and returned to her room to rest.
Her fondness for He Fang was inexplicable; she just liked her from the bottom of her heart, satisfied with every detail. Qin’s Mom even thought that if these two ever came to a crossroads, it wouldn’t be bad to consider her as a formal daughter-in-law—if only the lad could be more promising, to truly become family.
Qin Guanglin lay down for a while, and maybe it was an illusion, but he could still smell the sweet scent of He Fang on his bed, faint and elusive as if she were still there.
Savoring for a moment the feeling of her curled up in his arms, Qin Guanglin suddenly leaped out of bed, turned on his computer, and searched for what to do about a stomach ache.
Brown sugar water... heating pads... wormwood foot soak... moxa therapy... massage...
He scrolled through the information, seeing that the recommendations were rather repetitive with occasional dubious folk remedies.
After researching for over thirty minutes, he found that massage and brown sugar water seemed the most practical. The others needed conditions he couldn’t meet at the moment or weren’t suitable. Who would use a heating pad in the summer?
Qin Guanglin thought about buying some brown sugar to keep at home, clicked twice, and was about to shut down the computer when a sudden impulse hit him. He reopened the browser and lightly tapped a few keys on the keyboard.
How to kiss...
Looking at the information on the computer, his eyes widened, and his expression resembled someone who had discovered a new world.
So there are so many techniques!
