CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66: IN FRONT OF MY SON, DO YOU THINK I’D EAT YOU?

On both sides of the lobby of the seven-star hotel, stood a row of well-dressed senior management personnel.

Evidently, they had been informed early on that Lu Jihan would be coming, so they had prepared in advance. As soon as he appeared, they bowed respectfully in greeting.

"Good day, President!"

The grand display made Song Yinyin shiver with fright.

Was this level of extravagance really necessary?

Beside her, Lu Jihan did not even blink as he strode casually into the hotel lobby.

Song Yinyin, however, came to a halt.

Why had Lu Jihan brought her and Dabai to the hotel?

Her heart was in turmoil, uncertain of what might happen next.

Lu Jihan took a few steps, noticed the woman beside him was motionless, paused, and turned back to look at her.

"Come in," he said with a hint of mockery in his voice, raising an eyebrow, "Am I going to eat you in front of our son?"

Song Yinyin felt momentarily embarrassed.

As if he’d dare!

She held her son’s little hand tightly, still keeping a distance from Lu Jihan.

Seeing her continued distance and resistance, Lu Jihan’s face darkened slightly. He furrowed his brows and returned to her side.

Unprepared, Song Yinyin’s nose accidentally bumped into his firm chest, and she looked up to glare at him in frustration.

That glance left her momentarily stunned.

Lu Jihan stood just under the crystal chandelier, with one hand in his suit pants pocket, slightly turned. The light cast shadows on his perfectly defined profile and broad shoulders, exuding an aura of noble authority, like an emperor — so strikingly handsome.

Standing so close, caught off guard, Song Yinyin’s heart skipped a beat.

In a daze, she overheard whispers from others—

"Hey, who is that woman with the child? She seems to know President Lu? Could she be President Lu’s guest?"

"Not likely a guest; look at how plainly she’s dressed. Hardly seems like President Lu’s guest. Her style is too low-class."

"But if she’s not President Lu’s guest, then why did President Lu and Assistant Shen come to fetch her personally? And even alarm the hotel executives? This is too mysterious, could she be... President Lu’s woman? And who is that little boy?!"

As the rumors grew more and more absurd, the gazes of onlookers were filled with various shades — inquisitive, jealous, envious, or shocked...

The speculative murmurs reached Song Yinyin’s ears, and she felt her heartbeat growing more intense.

She didn’t know how to handle this unexpected situation.

As she was lost in thought, Lu Jihan extended his hand to take hold of Song Dabai’s little hand, looked up to meet her eyes, and said, "Come with me."

Song Yinyin snapped back to reality, quickly took a couple of hurried steps, and followed behind Lu Jihan and her son.

In the elevator, she turned her head to look at the man beside her, somewhat confused.

Why did he bring her to his hotel?

Wasn’t he worried that his employees would find out he already had a five-year-old son?

As if reading her mind, Lu Jihan slightly turned his head, and cast a sidelong glance at her face, "Since I’ve acknowledged my son, I’m not afraid of others knowing about his existence."

For a moment, she couldn’t find words to argue, so she just lowered her head and stared at her high heels absentmindedly.

Lu Jihan glanced back at her, saw her head low, with the nape of her neck showing a pinkish hue under the light.

He slightly curled his lips and slipped his hand into his pocket.

Soon, they reached the presidential suite on the top floor. Lu Jihan pointed to the corner of the living room filled with children’s toys and said, "Dabai, go play over there by yourself. Your mommy and I need to talk."
