CHAPTER 60: SYSDI 60: ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL 3

It does sound like a good idea. However, the more Evan think about it, the more it falls apart. Usually, abilities gets past down from bloodlines, either from mother, father, or both. While most gets only one ability, there are the very, very few that could get both.

Evan doesn’t really know much about it at the moment, but from what he noticed, some of his friends ability were from their parents.

That was the only explanation he had and he had no other evidence that proves otherwise. It might not be in any way a solid truth. So, he knew that he is lacking in that knowledge.

’I think I need to do a bit more reading about the rarity of summoners first.’ Evan replied to Iva mentally.

His eyes still closed as he pretends to meditate. ’That way, I don’t just suddenly know summoning ability when my parents are elemental types of water and wind.’

Iva sighs. ’In that case, it will be easier if you have a water type then. Which also means that I don’t get free reign of moving around. Bummer.’

That... Was what Evan had been planning. The only problem was, he didn’t have a single ability that is related to water. If he only has one, it would be a good idea to pretend it is the only thing he can do.

...at least until he has enough proof that he can have more than one that is completely unrelated to what his parents have.

’Do you think there is any chance that one of the blank books we got from the library had a water based ability in it?’ Evan asked, almost excitedly.

His mind keeps going back to when he has able to have the Cure ability by chance. He did not even know he can get abilities other than what the watch provided. But he knows he will start finding more of those in the future, if only to be more versatile.

’Not sure until you actually check it out. There could be a chance, that’s for sure~’ Came Iva’s sing song tone.

Evan only needed one water spell. Just one. If that would help his case, then so be it. He just have to be ready for the entrance exams he had been preparing for so long now.

He finally opens his eyes when there is nothing else to talk to Iva about. He turns to the side and saw that Spire is looking at him with her head tilted at the side.

"How was meditation?" She asked, to unsure but there is curiosity in her eyes.

Evan cleared his throat before leaning back more comfortably in the car seat. "It’s okay. Have you been watching me?"

Spire gasped out loud as if offended. "I was not watching you! I was just curious!"

She huffs out loud, crossing her arms in front of her and looks at her right, so he couldn’t see what expression she had.

"I’m not accusing you." Evan sighs. "It’s a simple question with a simple answer. Anyway, how long do we have to be in the car?"

"In another hour or so. But if you need some rest, we can make a small stop at the City Square." Spire says, leaning closer to the door to peak at the window.

Evan shook his head. "I don’t think that’s wise. I can sit still in another hour. No need to worry."

It is a little dizzying, just sitting in the car seat with nothing to do. When Evan had his eyes closed, he didn’t feel as if his vision is moving too much. But now, he had had to lean his back to the backrest and his head in the door.

The hour seemed to pass by in the slowest that Evan had ever experienced. When the car stopped with a move of finality of having arrived at the destination, he is the first one out, opening the door as he had observed others did and stepped out immediately.

He hoped that would be the last time he is going to ride a car. But then again, he knows that is just wishful thinking.

"Welcome to the Valrepite manor." The driver says. He had opened the door for Spire and he bowed. Young Lady Spire, your father is aware of your arrival. What are your orders?"

Evan took a while to recover. The fresh air out the car helped tremendously. He looks around his new surroundings, only paying half a mind on what other conversation is happening around him.

The Valrepite manor is truly a manor fit for nobility. The path they passed by is in a smooth lined path made out of stone. Flowing water from a small circular lake made out of smooth white stone pours from the top and down as if a man-made waterfall.

There is green everywhere. If it is not a path were a car could be on, there are grass on them. Even the trees that grew on the sides were all in equal distance between each other, lined up as if in formation.

Bushes had some flowers in them, but even if the autumn season is approaching, the vivid greenery was still more apparent than the usual shades of orange and brown for now.

"I will meet my father along with Evan." He hears what Spire said. "I’m assuming he has read the response Evan had that Adrian had sent."

"Yes, he had, Young Lady Spire." The driver nods his head. "Your servant will be waiting by the door. He will be leading you to your father."

Spire turns to Evan, who is looking at her and the driver. "Let’s go. I’m sure father is eager to speak to you after you accept his proposal."

Without another word, she began to move, looking back every once in a while to see if he is still following her.

Evan sighs as he followed her. Looks like a new part of his life is about to begin.
