CHAPTER 77: SYSDI 77: MAKING UNINTERRUPTED LINES

Lunch came by relatively quickly. So did dinner.

There was nothing much that had happened for the entire day. Evan heard that Spire disappeared to the training hall again by the afternoon.

He had asked that information from Joshua, and the servant had only heard about it more from the others that had passed by the training room and the east wing.

There is not a lot of information given, but Evan was still able to know that Spire is busy with training with her own father.

Meanwhile, Evan had busied himself with reading the books. He would have started absorbing the blank books but he can’t do that yet. It was a shame.

Soon, it was light’s out. The entire manor is draped in silence. Evan made his way towards the window and covered it with the thick blankets that Joshua had spread open for him in the morning.

After making sure that there would be no more gaps that is not being covered by the curtains, Evan took a step back and into the center of the room.

He is not looking to use fast travel once again, but he does not have a choice. It is either the fast travel and slowly get used to it, or just began running towards the stone hill cave and hope to everything that he can get there and back here before sunrise.

Evan had checked the drawers too, just to see if he can find a writing material that is not a pen to make the uninterrupted line. All he saw was ink, however, which means there is nothing here.

So, Evan decided to do a short fast travel back to his own childhood home and then, take a broken pot and use that as a chalk to write on the walls and make the uninterrupted line.

He has no idea if it will work. But doesn’t really have any other options or materials that he was able to think of.

So, with the panel in front of his face after he said status, he braced himself as he asked to be teleported to his childhood home.

There was still the bright light that surrounded him. Surprisingly enough, the move felt easy and quick, and it doesn’t hurt at all.

The fast travel he had done before was the most painful thing that he had ever experienced, and now, it doesn’t even hurt.

Maybe he is starting to get used to it?

Evan didn’t dwell on it much longer because he knew that he is on a time crunch. He made his way towards the garden. There is still no signs of anyone being in the house at all so there is no need to explain to anyone what he was doing here.

He got a broken part of a pot. He got a fairly big one that would not break at the single move of his hand across the walls as he draws the line.

After taking it, he used another fast travel and headed for the cave once again. He didn’t have a fast travel option to the entrance of the stone hill cave, and he would have chosen that if he did have the option.

He made sure to have his room curtains drawn too, and that none of the light coming from him will seep out from the room that he is currently.

There is the familiar burning pain that Evan remembered. He didn’t feel this similar pain. Is it because of the distance? But he is much closer to the stone hill cave than he was in Spire’s family manor.

So why does it still hurt?

’Finally ready to begin the final quest?’

Iva asked, popping almost out of nowhere in Evan’s mind.

Evan nods his head. "Yeah. I decided to finish the side quest anyway. I think it just makes sense for me to finish just so I don’t think about what could have been too much."

Iva hums in response. ’Whatever you want to do, remember I am here as your handy helper, silly~!’

"I know, I know." Evan says with a grin. He continued walking at the end of the path, agreed to leave the Cave of Underground Lake of Boon, and then instantly get teleported to the starting point of the main branches.

Evan looked at the right branch almost immediately, knowing that it would be the best idea to pass by the corridor that was not completed when the quest mentioned the completion.

Who knows what else was in the way? He remembered bats too.

Evan takes a deep breath. He lifted his left hand and started the line from the the triangle at the side of the smooth stone on the left. He began letting the pot write through the wall.

It wasn’t a straight line, but it continues to be uninterrupted as he walks slowly but surely.

Once there is a part of the cave where he had to go center, Evan was thinking about how he should do it. He paused, but then, he heard the rumbling of the ground.

Soon, he felt the walls and the ground shifting a little bit, allowing him to connect the left to the center path as he continued.

This kept happening whenever he had to go through the next path way too far from his intention. It seems all be had to do was be patient and let the ground and the walls shift their places for him to safely connect the walls.

Evan’s hand shook a little, feeling a sweat roll down his cheek as he paused for the last time. He had remembered about the last path was left and he is from the right.

He waited for the walls and the ground. At first, there was nothing. But then, the movement began again after a small pop sound echoed. It sounded as if there was a broken mechanism, and Evan had no idea what to do.

Then, the movement stops, and he finally saw the beautiful Lake of Boon from the other side. Now, how is he going to pass by all this water to get it the other side without breaking the line?
