CHAPTER 79: SYSDI 79: MAKING UNINTERRUPTED LINES 3

----- ----- -----

Warning!

Invisible trap imminent. Please step back and keep a reasonable distance away.

----- ----- -----

It is the same trap that he had gotten before! And he almost stepped right through too.

Danger sense is really useful!

Just like the warning, Evan stepped back slowly, arm, wrist and fingers more than a little tired by now from gripping the pot as he tried to evade the dangers.

By the time he reached the end of the hallway, he moved the line back up at the wall and calmed his breathing.

He had been sweating profusely as he made his way through. This is much harder to accomplish than the main quest that he had already finished.

When Evan was ready to continued, instead of pushing forwards, he stayed low on the floor again. He didn’t want to waste way too much energy, especially since he remembered just how badly the next corridor would be.

Besides, other than the heavy steps, it would also be dark. It is much easier to stay close to the ground, maybe crawl instead as he continues the line. That way, he knew that he didn’t break the line much more efficiently.

The weight of the corridor is much heavier than when he once he got there. It is as dark as he could remember. And because Iva has not disturbed him the entire time, it was just as quiet too.

He gritted his teeth and crawls forwards, never once forgetting about the line he had to draw as he crossed through.

It almost felt like a lifetime. All Evan could heard were pained and exhausted sound coming from his own mouth and body as he hoped that he is closing the distance.

There was no light. Nothing anywhere that would tell him if he is making progress at all.

He did not dare give up. Evan had conquered this room before and he knew that he can do it again.

That is why he decided to do the side quest after all.

A few more movements later, Evan’s free hand that he is using to help himself crawl, finally realized that it is much lighter on where it is.

With an almost renewed strength, Evan began to move a little quicker now. He is close.

And then, he got to the end.

He slumps on the ground for a moment, still minding the line he had to make. He finally made it. He just need to finish going through the walls from here on out. Just a little bit more and he will be finished with this side quest.

Evan was lying on his stomach on the ground for a while before he shifts to sitting position. Then, he takes a deep breath.

There is no use staying here for a lot longer. He will rest when this is done.

He awkwardly began moving up to start drawing the line back up to the wall. He remembered that he began the line from the smooth stone from the right branching path, so he figured that he would connect the line to the other side of it too.

He took a left turn, arms still drawing the line. Then, the very long, straight corridor. He remembered how it took him thirty minutes to get through this long hallway, so he had to run while minding the line.

He can practically hear a loud sound of a clock’s tick tock. It probably meant that he is running out of time.

By the end of the hallway, an out of breath Evan finally connect the line to the smooth stone, directly opposite the line from the other side.

----- ----- -----

The panel did appear before Evan but he felt his entire body give in that he fell to the ground.

Evan is lying down on the ground, clothes soaked with sweat and his face is also dusty from all the crawling he had to do. He is exhausted beyond relief, trying to run as fast as he could to cover the distances he needed.

Not only did he have to run on some parts while maintaining the line by the end, but he also had to be really careful on some parts or end up with having to redo the entire thing.

If he had to redo all of it, Evan did not think he would have the time. Just the dark corridor took everything from him.

He would have better chances starting with the left branching path, he is realizing it now. But the short run he had to do after that dark corridor knowing that going through that counts as a finish line, it had felt great.

At least, he is done with it now.

He looked at the panel that had appeared for him, reading what it contains. His eyes went wide when he realized that, yes, he simply won’t have the time to go back, so his assumption was right.

And now, he is finally about to find out what the reward is really, truly about.

See the All-Seeing only if you dare.

Evan remembered reading those words when he got the warning from Navia.

He had already suffered enough to get through with the corridor to finish the side quest. What more suffering could the reward grant him.

If that is even a reward?
