Chapter 449: Ch 449: Something Related to Chaos Energy
The Three-headed Spider hissed a few times at Alex, then moved its eight long legs and charged towards him.
Alex held a blade and dashed forward, showing no weakness.
Soon, there were flashes of blades and movements of legs.
"Clang!" "Clang!" "Clang!"
One person and one monster quickly exchanged dozens of blows.
When they separated, Alex was still unharmed, but the Three-headed Spider's legs were in a bad state.
All eight legs now had blade wounds, from which green blood flowed.
The Three-headed Spider's eight legs trembled constantly from the pain.
Alex smiled slightly and muttered, "As expected of a True Divinity-leveled beast. I had to use almost my entire strength just to injure it a little."
The Three-headed Spider obviously couldn't understand Alex's words, but the moment it saw his mocking smile, it realized it was being ridiculed.
"Roar!"
The Three-headed Spider was enraged and let out a thunderous roar. Its massive abdomen swelled, and in the next instant, it spat out a thick mass of white substance aimed straight at Alex.
Alex reacted instantly, his figure flashing dozens of meters away. When he turned back, he saw that the spot where he had been standing was now completely covered in a sticky layer of web.
The web was white but carried faint traces of green. It was a clear sign of poison.
Seeing the poisoned web, a chill ran through Alex's heart. Good thing he moved quickly. If he'd been even a moment slower, he would've been struck.
Seeing Alex dodge, the Three-headed Spider roared furiously again and shot out another glob.
However, Alex dodged again.
But the spider didn't stop. It continued to shoot its poisonous webs again and again. As for Alex, he kept dodging.
But very soon, Alex realized something was wrong. He realized that because the surroundings were already covered in spider silk shot by the Three-headed Spider, his activity area was getting smaller and smaller.
'This spider is quite smart!'
Alex muttered inwardly and then decided not to continue playing with the Three-headed Spider.
When the Three-headed Spider shot out the web again, Alex dodged the web with a swift movement. Then he charged forward and arrived in front of the Three-headed Spider in an instant.
The Three-headed Spider clearly hadn't expected Alex to suddenly stop dodging and came directly for it. It was startled and unable to react when Alex directly stabbed one of its eyes while cutting off one of its heads.
"Pfft."
"Hisss~"
"Roar!"
The Three-headed Spider let out a miserable shriek as blood splattered everywhere. It retreated a few steps and trembled in pain. For a moment, it couldn't understand what had happened.
However, Alex didn't forget to take advantage of this opportunity. While the Three-headed Spider was trying to deal with sudden pain, Alex moved again and slashed at its other head.
"Shua!"
"Thud!"
Just like that, another one of its heads was sliced off from its body, dropping on the ground after flying a few meters away.
"Hisss~"
The Three-headed Spider let out another miserable shriek, and then green blood spurted from its body.
Watching the Three-headed Spider's green blood gush out, Alex smiled. He very coolly flicked the green blood off the blade in his hand and then charged forward again.
When Alex charged over again, the Three-headed Spider moved its eight long legs, intending to retreat into the cave, but unfortunately, it had severe wounds on its body, which slowed it down considerably.
Seeing the Three-headed Spider trying to retreat into the cave, Alex would not let it have its way. He immediately caught up to the Three-headed Spider and then jumped into the air. At the same time, he brought the blade forward, gripped it with both hands, trying to stab the spider to death.
The Three-headed Spider suddenly felt a great terror. However, it could do nothing about Alex at all. Alex was fighting this beast with all his strength. Although he didn't use any skill in this battle, he did use his entire strength.
Alex directly stabbed the Three-headed Spider from above.
The spider roared in pain and moved before turning and spitting dark green, poisonous mist at Alex.
Seeing this, Alex quickly retreated.
After the Three-headed Spider spewed a mouthful of poisonous mist, it was noticeably more listless. It stumbled as it walked. Still, it persisted in walking towards the cave.
After the poisonous mist dissipated, Alex again caught up to the Three-headed Spider and then stabbed another eye on the spider's only head.
The Three-headed Spider could sense that it could no longer escape. Since that was the case, the spider decided to attack Alex instead of retreating. Its face twisted into a ferocious expression. Clearly, this spider intended to fight to the death.
Alex wouldn't let it have its way. He leaped high into the air. When coming down, his blade plunged directly into the Three-headed Spider's only head from above.
The Three-headed Spider hadn't expected that it wouldn't even get a chance to fight to the death. It let out an unwilling wail and then collapsed to the ground.
Alex very coolly twirled his blade before looking at the spider's corpse. Then, shaking his head, he kept the blade inside the storage ring on his finger and then walked to the spider that soon scattered into fragments of energy before being absorbed by this world, leaving behind a single crystal.
This was a Legendary Crystal.
Alex stored the crystal and then entered the cave again.
He was very curious as to where such a large spider had been hiding, as he hadn't even noticed it when he entered. So, he searched for a bit and quickly found a good hiding spot for the spider.
It was behind the giant statue. The back of the statue just happened to block the line of sight of anyone entering the cave. Coupled with the fact that the cave was already dim, that spot became the perfect blind spot for hiding.
Alex thought for a moment and then leaped onto the statue's shoulder.
Sure enough, he saw a larger space behind the statue, just big enough to accommodate the spider.
Not only that, but he also saw that the space actually went underground. It means this cave had more open space down there, which was full of darkness.
Alex threw down a ball of fire.
As the ball of fire fell, Alex saw the space inside the cave more clearly. The cave was covered in spider silk, and the falling fireball was quickly caught by a strand of spider silk.
However, under the heat of the flame, the spider silk quickly burned through.
The fireball continued to fall and was soon entangled by another strand of spider silk. But this silk also couldn't withstand the heat of the flame and quickly broke.
This process continued repeatedly, and after a full minute, the fireball finally fell into the cave.
It was at this moment that a golden light flashed, which caught Alex's eyes.
"There's something there."
Alex muttered and immediately thought about the restless Chaos Energy inside his body.
He has to admit that the Chaos Energy was being attracted to something more intensely now that he was standing on the statue's shoulder. It was clear that something related to Chaos Energy was inside the cave.
Now that he saw the golden light flashing, Alex couldn't help but wonder whether that thing was related to Chaos Energy or something else.
Whatever it may be, he has to go down and take a look.
Alex looked at the spacious cave down there, covered in spider silk. Then he formed a few more fireballs before throwing them all down.
The fireballs fell one after another, lighting up the darkness below. Each time the spider silk touched these fireballs, they were burned to ashes. Soon, the cave below grew brighter, and Alex could see more clearly.
The walls of the cave were covered with thick layers of spider silk, like a giant net. Some parts had even hardened, looking as tough as stone. Strange bones were stuck inside the silk, showing that many creatures had died here before.
In the center of the underground space, faint golden light flickered again, shining through the thick threads of web. It looked mysterious and beautiful, like a treasure hidden inside the darkness.
Alex narrowed his eyes. His Chaos Energy stirred restlessly, as if it wanted to rush out of his body. This confirmed his suspicion. He knew at that moment for sure that whatever was down there was directly connected to Chaos Energy.
He took a deep breath and clenched his fists. At the same time, he didn't hesitate to make a decision to go down and investigate the situation.
Anything related to Chaos Energy was simply too important.
Without wasting more time, Alex jumped down from the statue's shoulder. His body moved like lightning as he descended into the underground cave.
"Thump!"
Very soon, his legs touched the ground, making a loud noise that echoed in the air.
Then the first thing Alex did was release his Divine Sense. He wanted to check whether the Divine Sense was working or not now that he was already deep inside the cave.
Unfortunately, his Divine Sense didn't work at all. It was still completely restricted by an invisible power.
