System: Replicating The Heavens
Chapter 458: Ch 458: Alex V/S Zerath (2)
Chaos Energy surged inside and outside Alex's body like an endless tide. His veins glowed faintly as power rushed through him. He gripped the Evil Lion Blade tighter but did not swing it right away. Flashy techniques were useless against Zerath because his body was too strong to the point of becoming unshakable by ordinary attacks. After all, no matter how beautiful or powerful Alex's previous attacks appeared, they could not leave even a scratch on his body. Alex knew that if he wanted to hurt Zerath, he would have to unleash a much stronger power.
Alex opened his information panel in his mind and then focused on the section showing his [Special Physique] and [Bloodline]. There, he focused on the [Bloodline] section, where he first eliminated [Ancient Sovereign Bloodline (40%)] and [Primordial Chaos Bloodline (5%)]. These two bloodlines were too powerful. Alex didn't want to activate them unless it was very necessary. So, he focused on the other two bloodlines: [Lightning God's Source Bloodline] and [Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline (40%)].
Finally, he decided to activate the [Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline].
A dangerous heat filled his chest as Alex muttered in his heart: "Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline, activate!"
The moment he spoke, a terrifying transformation started. His blood immediately started boiling as if molten lava was running through his veins. His skin darkened slightly, almost in an instant as veins turned black like ink. A deep red glow appeared in his eyes, making them look like two burning abyssal flames. His aura twisted and changed, now carrying an overwhelming hunger and a pulling force, as if his very presence could drain life itself.
At the same time, dark, shadowy patterns started spreading across his arms and chest like tattoos alive with energy. From his back, faint outlines of monstrous wings shimmered, as if the abyss itself wanted to tear through his body and be born. The ground beneath his feet cracked and withered.
The Evil Lion Blade reacted too. Golden light dimmed on the blade and turned pitch black. Almost in an instant, the blade was wrapped in a thick crimson aura that pulsed like a beating heart.
Alex exhaled deeply and felt that his breath was now chill and cold. He also felt his strength had multiplied and his senses sharpened. Although his cultivation didn't increase in the slightest, he could feel that the quality of his strength had increased by at least three times.
In simple words, Alex was at least three times stronger than before.
Finally, he raised his head and locked his eyes on Zerath. It was time for the real battle.
As their eyes met, the air shook as if the heavens themselves were trembling in fear. A terrible aura spread out from Alex's body, pressing against the walls of the grand hall and shaking the entire city, which was already destroyed.
Zerath froze for a brief second at Alex's sudden eruption of power. He was also surprised to sense something related to the abyss on Alex's body. His deep-red eyes widened slightly but soon curved into a wicked grin.
"So… you have Abyssal blood in you,"
Zerath's voice was dark and heavy. He nodded intensely as his eyes flashed with excitement. "Good. This will make killing you even more satisfying!"
Alex did not answer. He simply gripped the Evil Lion Blade, which was now pitch black and wrapped in a crimson aura, and took a step forward. As he took the first step forward, the ground under his foot collapsed instantly, leaving a deep hole, dust bursting upward like smoke.
In the next instant, his figure vanished.
In fact, it was not just Alex; even Zerath disappeared the moment Alex vanished.
"BOOM!"
The next moment they appeared, their bodies collided heavily. One used his blade against the other's fist, causing a terrifying shockwave to burst outward, shattering everything like they were made of paper.
Alex's arms shook violently. Blood sprayed from small cracks in his skin as Zerath's raw strength pressed down. However, this time, it was not just him; even Zerath was injured, bleeding with dark blood.
"Kekeke," Zerath laughed loudly after the collision. Then he spoke in a thundering voice, "Stronger! Yes, much stronger than before. But still too weak to kill me!"
He lifted his horned head, and the Abyssal Horns of Ruin lit up in a deep red glow. Then he slammed his head forward.
Alex crossed his blade to block, but the collision sent him flying backward through three walls. His body smashed into the broken debris, coughing blood as his ribs cracked.
Ka-cha!
But Alex didn't take even a second to stand up. He wiped the blood off his mouth, and he charged at Zerath again.
The next exchange was even more brutal. Alex roared as he unleashed Evil Lion Slash again. This time, his attack was not only powered fully by Chaos Energy but also by the Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline.
"Roar!"
A giant black lion made of energy erupted from the blade as it rushed toward Zerath with terrifying momentum, tearing apart space as if the world itself was made of thin glass. The air appeared to scream as it made bizarre noises, and the ground split into bottomless cracks that spread for miles.
"Bang!"
Zerath met the lion head-on, his body erupting with dark red flames that burned like molten blood. His fists smashed against the giant lion, and the collision shook the heavens. But this time, the lion did not disappear. It pressed forward, dragging Zerath back step by step, gouging trenches across the ruined earth.
Dark blood splattered everywhere out of Zerath's body as his flesh cracked apart like broken stone, spilling waves of abyssal energy that twisted the air and burned the ground wherever it touched.
Then Alex's figure blurred. He appeared above Zerath, slamming down with his blade in both hands. The blackened blade cut down like a mountain falling from the sky.
Shua~
BOOM!
Zerath raised both arms to block, but the impact sent shockwaves in every direction, leveling everything for thousands of miles. Hills collapsed, and even the faraway mountains crumbled like sand due to the aftereffects of this collision.
"Roar!"
Zerath roared furiously. His body glowed with blood-red flames as he pushed Alex back. However, Alex did the same.
Their clash simply shook the entire Domain World.
By now, even Alex's own body was covered in blood, yet his strength only grew fiercer. Every swing of his blade sent out torrents of abyssal energy mixed with Chaos Energy, creating storms of destruction. Space twisted and tore apart wherever he slashed, leaving behind black scars that devoured light.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Clash~
Crack!
Zerath fought like a beast unleashed. His body crashed through the battlefield like a meteor, punching, kicking, and smashing. Each of his moves carried the weight of a collapsing mountain. His horns glowed with abyssal runes, firing beams of destruction that melted the land instantly. But Alex's Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline burned hotter with every clash. He could even feel that the more he and Zerath bled, the stronger the "abyss" inside him howled.
It was as if his bloodline wanted both him and Zerath to bleed to death. It was a very bizarre situation where his own bloodline wanted him dead.
The battlefield, which had been limited to the city earlier, had already gone beyond the ruined city. Thousands of miles of land were reduced to rubble by now, and even the sky was torn open.
Alex's aura turned even darker as his veins burned like rivers of blood.
Finally, he rushed at Zerath again.
"Boom!" "Boom!"
Their figures collided faster than eyes could follow. The sky flashed with endless light and darkness as blade and fist struck again and again. The destruction caused by their battle became very difficult to explain, for it was more than just the destruction of land now. Even the rules of this Domain World had started affecting slightly.
As the fight between them grew fiercer, Alex erupted with power that no longer looked human. His Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline had gone through a strange transformation due to his and Zerath's blood now, which even he himself was unaware of.
By now, his eyes glowed like twin abysses, pulling in everything around him. The crimson aura of the Blood Devouring Abyssal Bloodline was spreading out of his body like a storm of blood. Dark patterns had covered almost his entire body. The wings behind his back had grown two meters wide, and his height grew by one meter.
Shua~
Alex rose into the sky immediately. At the same time, he unfurled his two-meter-wide blood wings with a sharp sound. If anyone could look at his wings now, they would see a pair of beautiful red wings lined with intricate dark patterns. For a brief moment, Alex looked less like a warrior and more like a terrifying yet strangely beautiful Crimson Butterfly spreading its wings over the heavens.
For some reason, as Alex's wings opened fully, the world changed immediately. The sky dimmed instantly, swallowed by a suffocating gloom.
