Chapter 395: Chapter 389 Lost

Just after leaving Tunaras, Leon encountered a magic ship, which was a Tyrant Ship.

The Tyrant Ship is carved by Beholders using their dissociation beams from stone, and they use these ships to roam the Astral Sea, searching for worlds to conquer and enemy Beholders to destroy.

No two Tyrant Ships look exactly alike, but they all have one or more features reminiscent of their creators, such as bulbous shapes and eye stalks.

The spherical room on the Tyrant Ship’s command deck is akin to a magic exorcism rudder that only a Beholder can tune to, even if he captures it, he can’t operate it. Because of this, Leon didn’t attack that Tyrant Ship until he remembered that killing a Beholder could yield its eyeballs, which are rare alchemy materials.

Leon also didn’t know why, but on his way to find a Color Pool, he often encountered Celestial Creatures, Evil Demons, and mortal adventurers. Could it be that everyone is searching for Color Pools, walking the same path?

A unicorn with a protruding spiral ivory horn on its forehead, its magical touch can cure diseases and injuries, unicorns appear in groups, freely galloping in the Astral Sea.

A gentleman would not bear to see the death of animals nor eat their meat upon hearing their cries. Thus, gentlemen avoid the kitchen. Leon does not mind eating meat; he loves it so much he even seeks rare alchemy materials everywhere. But killing those beautiful creatures on a large scale, he finds a bit hard to bear; there is still some kindness in him.

Leon did not harm the unicorns, nor did he harm the feathered snakes, deeply wise snake-like creatures with radiant wings and graceful manners, showing their connection to the Celestial Realm.

The first Color Pool Leon found was magenta.

The golden Color Pool leads to the Celestial Mountain, the pitch-black Color Pool to the Chaos Sea, the diamond-blue Color Pool to the Mechanical Realm… Leon remembered that the magenta Color Pool leads to the Madness Tunnel.

The Madness Tunnel, also known as the Demon Hall, is a mad plane formed of tunnels carved by wild winds on heaps of rock. It is cold, noisy, dark, and devoid of natural light.

Most inhabitants of this plane are creatures exiled to it. They have no hope of escape, many driven mad by unending wind or forced to hide where they can shelter from the wind, eventually becoming nothing but distant cries of pain.

Leon was not a masochist, had no interest in suffering, and had no interest in the Madness Tunnel. He turned away immediately, afraid of getting too close to the Color Pool and being sucked in. He realized he needed a clear destination.

Vilakis’ Astral Prism had not yet been stolen, the story of Baldur’s Gate 3 had not begun. Otherwise, visiting Ferren would have been nice; it’s part of another Desolate Universe thing… He reminded Vilakis to be cautious, surely Vilakis wouldn’t be so careless, perhaps he had already nipped the story of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the bud.

Having an Astral Prism doesn’t mean there’s a Baldur’s Gate 3, after all, this just a world based on DND, filled with modded rules, house rules, and secondary settings, who knows if there’s the same story.

Let’s change places.

Leon found a floating boulder to lie on, lost in thought as he considered that as a Red Dragon, the Celestial Mountain was definitely off-limits, so was the Twin Heaven… Those planes with good elements, the upper planes, were all out.

In the end, what alignment did he belong to? Surely not a good alignment, and compared to his mother and sister, he wasn’t chaotic evil… His mother and sister were still so evil, but after repeatedly knocking sense into them, they learned to follow rules, now perhaps they were considered neutral evil.

Again comparing Cecilia, a Green Dragon was typically lawful evil.

He wasn’t as evil as Cecilia, liked seeing lovely things, for example, he was a pure love advocate, hated Minotaurs, liked perfect endings, liked justice triumphing over evil… The premise being not to interfere with his interests, he wouldn’t sacrifice for others.

Moreover, he wasn’t as lawful as Cecilia, who sometimes adhered to rules, whereas he felt procedural justice wasn’t so essential, substantive justice wasn’t much of an issue.

Was he then a less lawful evil kind of lawful evil? Couldn’t be absolutely neutral, could he?

Perhaps Joseph Garden, Leon thought going to Joseph Garden wouldn’t be a problem.

The territory of Joseph Garden was rugged mountains and deep valleys, windswept battlefields. Its land floated above a sea of volcanic rock, beneath were ice caves vast enough to accommodate all giants, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and other beings.

Heroes come to Joseph Garden to test their courage, facing not only the plane itself but giants, dragons, and other terrifying creatures roaming across the vast land of Joseph Garden. Besides Mechanical Creatures and Undead Creatures, any creature attacked or killed by spells would revive at dawn.

His combat skills were somewhat lacking; perhaps he could hone them in Joseph Garden.

Possessing Extraordinary Essence, Leon didn’t need to sleep, but sometimes he liked to close his eyes, empty his mind, such as when he enjoyed blowing wind on the observation deck atop the Volcano, or before crossing enjoyed sitting in a park’s shade blowing wind.

Leon relaxed for a moment, feeling someone approach him; seeing it wasn’t a threat, he didn’t immediately stand up. Only when the person came closer did he open his eyes and see an ugly face.

“Young man, do you have any troubles?” The ugly face belonged to a Hag, this Night Hag had purplish-black skin, light-colored eyes, and slender crooked horns. Compared to other Hags, she was human-height and plump rather than skinny and gaunt, “Tell grandma; grandma will help you.”

“You think I don’t know what you are?” Leon raised a hand and cast an immobilization spell, casually taking out a sword and chopping off the Night Hag’s head.

Leon began to rummage through the Night Hag’s corpse, gaining a Heart Stone, which upon touch could instantly cure diseases, and a soul bag… Well, he admitted he was eyeing the Night Hag’s treasures.

He was quite a face-smeller; for pretty people or things, he’d be willing to be a bit more forgiving; otherwise, wild monsters weren’t worth noticing.

Leon paid no attention to the Night Hag, tidied up, and continued forward, suddenly realizing the silver-gray sky had darkened in an instant, soon becoming pitch-black like a moonless night.

Leon quickly realized he encountered a mind storm, not a material wind but a storm targeting travelers’ thoughts rather than their physique, composed of lost memories, forgotten ideas, fleeting thoughts, and subconscious fears.

A mind storm causes two effects: positional effects and psychological effects. Leon could ignore psychological effects; he easily walked through them, but positional effects were unavoidable, as long as he wasn’t randomly sent to a plane by a Color Pool.

The mind storm dispersed as quickly as it came, and the sky soon returned to normal. Leon found he was still in place… without a reference point, he didn’t know whether he was there or not; the Astral Sea is a realm of thoughts and dreams without geography; anyway, he was still in the Astral Sea.

Leon spent some time finding the Color Pool, not the indigo one, but a purple-blue one, seemingly lost direction because of the mind storm.

The purple-blue Color Pool probably led to the Bottomless Abyss.
