Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 481 - 473: Gather the Flowers While You Can
CHAPTER 481: CHAPTER 473: GATHER THE FLOWERS WHILE YOU CAN
Fiora’s ability to take action was not to be underestimated; she quickly sketched out a plan in her mind and then left the office for the lift-off platform, which was a big open space. She reverted to her Dragon Form and flew close to the shimmering sea surface towards the Volcanic Island, soon approaching the island.
Isily was a street wanderer, and Leon wasn’t much better, idling around all day—no one knew where he might be.
Thinking about how Leon always loved soaking in the lava bath, enjoying lying on the Volcano Top’s viewing platform to leisurely blow the sea breeze, bask in the sun, and enjoy the scenery... Fiora suddenly flapped her wings and spiraled towards the Volcano Top, only to find Leon sitting on the seaside rocks, fishing leisurely.
Without hesitation, Fiora changed direction and swooped down towards Leon like an arrow released from a bowstring. Just before crashing into the ground, she made a sudden stop, flapped her wings rapidly to decelerate, and landed steadily beside the rocks, transforming into human form, saying, "While we’ve been working hard outside, you’re hiding here fishing."
Leon glanced at Fiora nonchalantly, a slight teasing smile playing on his lips, as he said, "It’s best not to let me get busy, or at least it would be a war."
Fiora bit her lip, walked up, glanced into Leon’s bucket, and gently nudged it with her foot, hearing a "clang" sound, feeling slightly better, and asking, "Why is there not a single fish?"
"Why else?" Leon sighed helplessly, "I’ve been set up by the Ocean Goddess."
"Winning and losing are common affairs in the military, victories and defeats are very normal; is it necessary to be so petty?" Leon said to himself, "I just wanted to catch a few fish, but an hour has passed, and not a single one has bitten my line."
"Could it be a problem with your fishing skills?" Fiora questioned.
"Absolutely not." Leon paused, his gaze falling on Fiora, "So did you come all the way here just to mock me for being ’air force’?"
Fiora came to Leon’s side, squatted down beside him, waited for Leon to turn and look at her, and said gently, "I missed you."
"I’ll come to your place tonight." Leon said with a bit of emotion, gently reaching out to touch Fiora’s hair.
Fiora smiled noncommittally, looked around and said, "I remember we met here, right?"
"No fight, no acquaintance." Leon recalled.
"I still remember," Fiora said with a slight upward curve of her lips, "you tried to deceive me by saying you were a Ruby Dragon. I was really naive back then."
"Gah, just kill me." Leon couldn’t help but laugh, "How could someone who says things like that claim to be naive?"
"Say that again, and I’ll push you into the water." Fiora threatened, pretending to be angry, then sighed, "Time flies so fast, it’s been decades in the blink of an eye."
Decades, even for dragons with long lifespans, isn’t short, and could warrant some reflection.
"I believe I was a teenage dragon back then." Leon lifted his fishing rod and took a look.
"Now you’re just a young dragon." Fiora wrinkled her nose, "Your actions really make people forget your age; how are you still not an adult yet?"
Fiora stretched her waist, sat with Leon for a while, and then left, turning to find Isily.
"Why are you here?" Isily’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Fiora, her gaze filled with nervousness and unease. Earlier, she hadn’t thought much of it, and had said something really harsh about Fiora, now fearing that Fiora was still angry at her.
Fiora looked solemn, took a deep breath, and said, "I’ve thought it through; we absolutely can’t just sit here and wait for our demise."
"Correct." Isily became excited, nodding emphatically, "Have you come to terms with it?"
Fiora revealed a resolute smile, extended her hand to Isily, and said, "Let’s work hard together. Let’s sleep together tonight and have a good chat."
"Sure." Isily did not suspect it; although it’s rare for one dragon to invite another to their lair, they had known each other for so long that as a Silver Dragon, she’d already grown accustomed to human ways, looking forward to spending time as best friends would, chatting through the night.
And so, Isily and Fiora went off work together, ate at the government cafeteria, and returned home as a pair.
When Isily had first been kidnapped to the Volcanic Island by Leon, Fiora had taken her to her lair for protection, making this not Isily’s first time entering Fiora’s lair, albeit after a long interval.
"I don’t remember it looking like this before." Isily now acted like a curious baby, her eyes bright, looking around and touching here and there, "Your lair looks like a fortress or a stronghold."
"Bronze Dragons value function over appearance and prefer to build their lairs with a military commander’s perspective." The Bronze Dragon raised her head slightly, "My lair has multiple ways in and out known only by me."
"Even Leon doesn’t know?" Isily tilted her head curiously.
Fiora paused and corrected herself, saying, "Except me and Leon."
Isily hummed.
"You are much bigger in size than me."
"Of course, I am not only a Titan Dragon, but I am older."
"You want to transform into a Titan Dragon too."
"There will be opportunities."
"Your wing finger bones are so short... It’s this special arrangement that lets you bronze dragons use your wings flexibly like a manta ray’s large fins in the water, right?"
"That’s right, this wing structure allows us to swim faster in the water, but when flying in the sky, we’re not as fast as you all."
"Cecilia has such a strong desire for power, she doesn’t want to rest properly even when pregnant, unlike Tassera who does nothing but prepare for childbirth once pregnant."
"Dragons aren’t like humans; pregnancy doesn’t really impact dragons. If she wants to keep working, there’s nothing wrong with that."
"Why are you speaking up for the colorful dragon?"
"I’m just telling the truth."
In the spacious room deep in the nest, Isily was chatting intensely with Fiora, her ears suddenly perked up, and she stood up alertly, looking around and said, "Did you hear anything?"
"I did." Fiora bared her teeth.
"Who dares to intrude into your nest?" Isily pondered, "I’ll go check it out."
Just as Isily was getting up, she widened her eyes when she saw a red dragon.
"What are you doing here?" In fact, Leon was even more bewildered.
Isily hurriedly explained, "Fiora called me over."
"She called me too." Leon said, turning to look at Fiora, expecting an explanation.
Fiora, after all, is a Metal Dragon, the righteous Knight Lady, though slightly corrupt, not easily so. She looked at Isily and said guiltily, "Didn’t you agree we’d work together to prevent Zhen Dan Kingdom from becoming a realm of colorful dragons?"
"No, I agreed with you, but not..." Isily’s tail lifted as she stamped her feet anxiously.
"Aren’t you being reckless?" Leon vaguely guessed something, and immediately put on a stern face.
"I don’t care, I’m leaving first." Isily said, both angry and anxious.
"Sorry." Fiora clutched her head, unable to imagine she did something so absurd, "It’s all due to my immense pressure... Tassera got pregnant, then Sharon, now Cecilia too, yet there’s nothing from me."
Leon knew that because Tassera and Cecilia got pregnant one after the other, Fiora was constantly anxious, but didn’t expect it to go this far. Feeling sorry, he gently comforted her, "I don’t know what you’re worried about; these things can happen early or late, it’s perfectly normal."
"Yeah, exactly." Isily chimed in, "You’re still young, why rush?"
Leon and Isily took turns soothing Fiora, until Fiora’s initially tense mood gradually relaxed, and the anxiety in her eyes slowly dissipated... Indeed, she has an understanding partner and a good sister.
"Just take a good rest today." Leon said softly, "We’ll head out first."
A short distance out of the nest, Isily regretfully said, "I shouldn’t have pressured Fiora so much."
"What exactly happened?" Leon raised an eyebrow and asked curiously.
"How should I put it?" Isily transformed into human form, becoming a silver-haired girl who left footprints on the beach, hesitatingly explaining what happened during the day.
Leon watched the moonlight pour like water over Isily, like a fairy descending to earth, and said, "You guys... Wherever humans gather, there is drama."
Isily was just about to say something when she keenly noticed Leon’s gaze and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"I noticed you’re quite pretty." Leon said boldly.
"Of course." Isily held down her fluttering silver long hair with one hand and her skirt with the other, swaying in the wind, "Your look..."
Leon wasn’t some naive boy, on the contrary, he was a carnivorous red dragon. Mostly because he was already prepared for it, who knew such things would happen, and now he was holding back, saying, "Hmm, haven’t you always thought there are too few Metal Dragons in Zhen Dan Kingdom?"
"You can’t always pressure Fiora while you stay out of it." Leon continued.
"What are you planning?" Isily backed up repeatedly.
Leon looked at Isily with blazing eyes. He had long known her feelings but hadn’t thought much about it. Rarely Today, he felt impulsive, and the silver-haired girl had grown quite a bit compared to before, he said, "Run fast, don’t let me catch you."
"Immobilization spell, Gathering Form and Scattering Energy, and Long Rainbow Escape." Isily’s long eyelashes trembled slightly, "Who could outrun you?"
The waves crashed against the rocks, making a splashing sound.
"No way." Isily’s voice was as soft as a mosquito’s.
"I’ll just hold you, won’t do anything else." Leon said.
