Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas
Chapter 141: An undercover agent
CHAPTER 141: AN UNDERCOVER AGENT
Kaelric’s POV
I left the council room immediately, as Macy, the other student council member, walked in. It seemed they had work to do as council members since it was a time when they planned activities.
Aria has been so busy lately with student council activities and sports practice that I hadn’t even come across her even by chance in a long while.
Meanwhile, I had family issues to attend to. The Successors had brought Luna Elena to my father’s council; she is said to be a traitor.
She had also engaged in underground activities with vampires in the casino, and such activities are regarded as treason; what awaits her is death.
It was on such a decision on the type of death sentence she was to undergo that I was sought after.
I saw the woman who once gallivanted all over the academic premises as one of the best staff, after all, she was the vice headmistress, get tied to the cross and stabbed multiple times with the silver blade laced with wolf’s bane extract.
This is what befalls traitors. Her husband was also suspicious; he could have easily been killed for just being related to a traitor. However, as a pack leader, such matters are handled carefully.
He was placed under careful monitoring against any suspicious moves.
After that business was concluded, I came back to Ashwood. But before I came back, my father didn’t fail to inform me that my betrothed mate, Andria, was missing; he insisted I find another partner to fulfil my duty, the duty of getting a Luna, since, according to him, I had come of age.
I was happy inside that whatever union they had planned wasn’t ever going to work; it seems the she-wolf also wasn’t interested in fulfilling such a task and decided to flee.
Ashwood was the liveliest as exam week had already drawn to a close. Although it was the weekend, I wanted to be in my office because I had a lot of work to do.
I spotted Aria walking into the school building. I felt it, that delicious feeling of the mate bond snapping into place that I feel whenever she is close.
I walked out of my office, as she immediately entered the hallway. I watched her walk into the student council room.
I waited a while before entering the room. "Ari, I knew I would find you here," I said, walking to sit at the edge of the table closest to her.
She tensed up immediately she heard my voice, but I could still feel the radiating inviting warmth from her wolf.
"What are you doing here, Sir Kaelric?" she asked as she lifted her face to look at me, re-adjusting herself on her seat.
"Finding my mate," I replied to her, the corners of my lips twisting into a smirk.
She arched an eyebrow at me. "You have a strange way of finding people, Sir Kaelric. Most would try knocking first."
Funny of her to assume that I would have to knock before I enter any room or place in this academy. I don’t expect anyone to be naked, therefore I don’t see the relevance of knocking when I would rather badge in on you doing the wrong things and now of all the wolves, both student and staff, she was my mate, why should I have to knock.
I was an undercover agent, sent to monitor what was happening in this part of the kingdom. News had reached the palace that the academy was under attack and that there were silent traitors among them.
I tilted my head a little, a faint smirk stretching my lips. "The most you refer to aren’t your mate."
She leaned back in her chair, "You should have at least shown some courtesy, knowing this is a council room, I might not be alone."
We had a series of back-and-forth, but I couldn’t help the feeling of nervousness I felt whenever I was close to her.
The room suddenly became tense, mirroring my body as I stared at her lips lusfully. I missed our last kiss, and I wanted it again.
I wasn’t on the table anymore; I was hanging over her so that I could have a closer inspection of my mate, which I wanted to devour.
Nothing else in this academy mattered as soon as her delicious scent hit my nostrils. My nose flared, and I could feel my whole body tense and radiate with desire.
She had it all displayed on her expression, which I knew she didn’t know, unless she was surrendering. Unless I was able to tame that wild beast in her.
And just as I was about to be granted my wish, Macy badged in, and I had no other choice but to leave the room.
I returned to my office, my whole body tensed and excited. Kyle, my wolf, was radiating all over, and this was one of the times he felt the safest. At other times, he was either preparing for war or running the kingdom’s business.
After a while, I took a glance at the window and spotted Macy and Aria walking out of the school building.
My instincts pulled up. There was something off about their movements, so I had to follow behind. I put the laptop on my table and dashed towards the door.
I watched them walk towards the Academy’s gate. I followed some miles behind. They walked into the supermarket close to the market square.
Of course, how could I have forgotten that they were planning a fundraiser?
Then suddenly I felt a looming presence. Whoever the person was seemed to have followed Macy and Aria to this place.
Aria suddenly stops, calls Macy’s attention and whispers something in her ear. I guess she must have noticed it.
Slowly, after picking some items, they made their way to the exit and immediately hit the market square, where they picked up race.
And as they ran, they started to shift. They got to the forest surrounding Ashwood, which had entirely shifted. I diverted my attention from Aria and Macy and started hunting after the hunter.
I tried as much as possible not to be noticed as I combed the forest trees. Whoever this is, they were good at hiding.
Soon, arrows started flying across the trees, and I followed the direction the arrows came from. And with quick and precise movement, I caught the hunter by the neck, allowing my nails to dig into their skin.
The skin was tender, just like that of a female. And that was when I decided to open her assassin mask, and the realization hit me immediately.
She was Tracy’s family.
