CHAPTER 552: CHAPTER 552 MORNING

When Ruan Hongzhuang and the others got up, they saw Shen Siyuan already sitting at the dining table.

The tabletop was a mess, with milk cartons, bread bags, and empty plates piled into a small mountain.

Even so, Shen Siyuan continued to eat incessantly—steak, milk, eggs, and all sorts of high-energy, high-protein foods went down his gullet like a bottomless pit.

Meanwhile, Mao Sanmei was hustling back and forth at the stove behind him, barely touching the ground with her feet.

Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi exchanged a glance, seeing the surprise in each other’s eyes.

Are we really that amazing? Could we have drained him so much after just one night?

"What are you both standing there for? Go wash up and join us for breakfast."

Only then did the two women notice that although Shen Siyuan’s voice was still full of vigor, his face was extremely pale, which was very unusual.

"What happened to you? Did something happen?"

Ruan Hongzhuang stepped forward, her face full of concern, and Taozi followed behind, looking at him and waiting for his answer.

At their words, Shen Siyuan smiled and said, "Just a little incident, nothing major."

But it was obvious that this answer didn’t satisfy Ruan Hongzhuang; she continued to gaze at him intently.

Taozi even puffed up her cheeks, seemingly trying to build up her momentum, and then looked at Shen Siyuan with dissatisfaction.

Shen Siyuan put down his knife and fork, a bit helpless as he said, "There are some things I can’t tell you yet, it’s just not the right time. I can only say, despite the heavy loss, it’s a great event."

Seeing Shen Siyuan speak like this, Ruan Hongzhuang’s expression softened too. She knew Shen Siyuan was no ordinary person and didn’t need to explain everything to her.

Her persistent questioning was also relying on Shen Siyuan’s love for her.

And Shen Siyuan’s serious response was a show of respect for her. To keep pressing further would seem a bit unreasonable and capricious.

Ruan Hongzhuang was a clever person and naturally wouldn’t do something so foolish.

So she turned her concern to Shen Siyuan: "Looking at you like this, wouldn’t it be harmful to your health? Should I get you some supplements?"

As she spoke, Mao Sanmei brought out another large batch of food, including steak, pork chops, braised lamb, old hen soup, and a large pile of eggs.

Early in the morning, her clothes were already soaked with sweat.

Her cooking speed simply couldn’t keep up with Shen Siyuan’s eating speed.

Shen Siyuan was like an unfeeling machine at full power; a plate of food was devoured in a matter of breaths, as if he didn’t need to chew.

In fact, Shen Siyuan didn’t chew much because once the food entered his body, it was instantly broken down by his strong stomach acid, then the nutrients were distributed throughout his body.

Even so, the speed was still too slow; it would probably take some time to make up for the loss.

Watching Shen Siyuan feast like this, Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi reacted differently. Ruan Hongzhuang felt that eating like this was too greasy, while Taozi’s throat moved as she felt an urge to eat.

"A diet alone is fine; most supplements are fake, and even if they are real, they might not be useful for me."

While speaking, Shen Siyuan didn’t stop his actions; in the blink of an eye, another two pieces of steak were devoured.

Ruan Hongzhuang pondered for a moment, stood up and went back to her room, quickly returning with a brocade box.

"See if this is of any use to you?"

Shen Siyuan reached out to take it, opened it, and saw that inside the box was a whole ginseng, complete with roots, looking quite impressive.

"Where did this come from?" Shen Siyuan asked in surprise.

"My mom brought it last time; most were given to your parents, and this is what’s left," Ruan Hongzhuang said.

Shen Siyuan didn’t know if it would be useful, so he took it out of the box, brushed it a couple of times with his hand, and then ate it like a carrot.

Ruan Hongzhuang: ...

Taozi: ...

Ginseng actually doesn’t taste very good; it has a slightly bitter taste and a hint of an earthy smell.

"It has some effect, but not much," Shen Siyuan said.

He felt the ginseng being broken down in his stomach, and his body felt a slight warm current, but it quickly disappeared.

"Do you need me to get some more for you?" Ruan Hongzhuang asked.

As long as there was even a little effect, Ruan Hongzhuang thought it was worth it.

"No need."

Shen Siyuan ate the entire ginseng in a few bites and continued, "It’s not very useful, and it doesn’t taste good. It’s expensive, so why bother."

"You two hurry up and wash up. I saved some for you." Shen Siyuan said with a smile.

"You eat your fill, don’t mind us," Ruan Hongzhuang said.

Then she pulled Taozi along to wash up.

Shen Siyuan also called back to Mao Sanmei, telling her not to make more, and for her to take a break and eat breakfast.

When Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi finished washing up and came out, they saw Mao Sanmei tidying up the empty plates.

"Have you already had enough?"

Taozi looked down at Shen Siyuan’s stomach, which still looked flat with no sign of bulging.

"If I keep eating, Sister Mao is going to get exhausted, plus there’s not much food left at home," Shen Siyuan said.

"Then I’ll have some food delivered over today." Ruan Hongzhuang said.

Previously, Ruan Hongzhuang had a special supplier who provided high-end ingredients and delivered them to the doorstep; naturally, the prices for both the food and service were quite high.

Since moving here, along with Mao Sanmei buying groceries daily, she hadn’t had food delivered in a long time.

Shen Siyuan hadn’t finished everything, leaving some for them, which, although not much, was enough for the two.

"I won’t go to the company today; I have to go out."

"Oh? Will you be back tonight?" Ruan Hongzhuang asked in surprise.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be back," Shen Siyuan said.

Upon hearing this, Ruan Hongzhuang breathed a sigh of relief. Although she knew Shen Siyuan must have important matters, she still hoped he would stay by her side.

Just then, Tang Tang ran out of her room in her pajamas, dragging her big plush bear.

This was the first gift Shen Siyuan had given her; she liked it very much and hugged it every night. Over time, it had begun to shed, but this didn’t stop Tang Tang from liking it.

"Good morning, Tang Tang." Taozi greeted her with a smile.

But she seemed not to notice, running straight to Shen Siyuan and gazing up at him.

"What’s the matter?" Shen Siyuan looked down at her with amusement.

"There’s no fire," she said.

"What do you mean no fire?" Ruan Hongzhuang asked, puzzled.

Shen Siyuan understood what she meant, patted her little head, and said, "In time, a new fire will be born."

Ruan Hongzhuang and Taozi looked baffled.

Only Tang Tang giggled, then turned and ran towards the kitchen to find her mother.

"Oh~"

Watching the little one with her short legs bustling about, Shen Siyuan couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile.

What he had just said was not empty words, as that divine fire was the manifestation of his spirit and will, and it could naturally regenerate.
