Chapter128

Chapter128

Looking up at him, Harriet blinked twice, stared at him for a

moment, and asked, “Then what do you want to do?”

With Harriet’s indifferent, dismissive attitude, what could he do?

In the end, he bent down and kissed Harriet fiercely.

It was less a kiss than a bite.

He bit her lips so hard that Harriet’s mouth hurt.

Before Harriet could react, he pushed her down onto the bed,

trapping her in his arms.

Giving Harriet no chance to resist, he kissed her aggressively,

pinning her hands with his left hand, while his right hand quickly

undid her clothes.

He kissed her hard, as if punishing her for her earlier

indifference and nonchnce.

Ellsworth’s kisses came down on her like a storm, tearing at her

clothes with a possessive force, as if Harriet had already

expected it.

Chapter128

She did not resist; she simply looked at him with indifference,

silently enduring everything.

It was as if she were merely an outsider.

Even as Ellsworth kissed her neck, tossed her discarded pants

aside, and undressed himself, Harriet still did not resist. She

merely turned her face away, ignoring him, letting him vent as

he pleased.

She knew that after this, Ellsworth would have let out his anger.

Afterwards, there would be nothing left between them.

There was no going back-never again.

Turning her face away, meeting Ellsworth’s storm with a

detached calm, Harriet gazed at the wardrobe nearby, and couldn’t help but recall many things from the past.

Ellsworth, I like you.

Ellsworth, you’re really good-looking.

Ellsworth, it’s so nice to have you.

She had whispered these words to him only when he was

asleep.

Chapter128

She still remembered that early summer evening, when she

went to his ssroom to call him after school. Ellsworth had

fallen asleep at his desk, all his ssmates had left, and he was

the only one still there, sleeping.

She pulled up a chair and sat beside him, watching him for a

long time.

Later, she quietly stood up, gently tucked her hair behind her

ear, bent down close to him, and secretly kissed him.

That was the boldest thing she had ever done in her life.

As memories surged, she thought again of all the ways Ellsworth had defended Kelsey, and of Kelsey’s Instagram post

at noon today.

With reddened eyes, Harriet thought, if he didn’t like her, he

shouldn’t have treated her so well, shouldn’t have let her

misunderstand, shouldn’t have let her fall deeper and deeper.

He shouldn’t have let her sleep in his room time and again,

shouldn’t have taken her along to skip ss, shouldn’t have let

her hold his waist when he gave her a ride on his bike.

He shouldn’t have fought for her, shouldn’t have run with her at

the sports meet, shouldn’t have promised her that she would

Chapter128

always be there in his future.

She believed it all-every word.

She thought he liked her too.

As Ellsworth forced her legs apart, Harriet’s eyes grew even

redder.

She was hurt by Ellsworth’s disrespect, by the fact that he didn’t

love her, and even more by the fact that they were no longer

who they once were.

Harriet’s utterck of resistance, the sadness and emptiness in

her eyes-Ellsworth looked at her and suddenly lost all his anger.

He let go of her hands and stopped his outburst.

With reddened eyes, he looked at Harriet for a while, then finally

copsed weakly on top of her.

Harriet did not push him away, nor did she resist.

Ellsworth was silent, and so was she. Even though his weight

made it hard for her to breathe, she didn’t move or make a

sound.

Neither of them knew how long they stayed like that, until

Chapter128

Ellsworth’s phone suddenly rang.

The quiet atmosphere was broken. Ellsworth got up from

Harriet, picked up his phone, and walked over to the back

window to answer it.

On the other end, Johnathan’s voice quickly came through. He

said, “Ells, you and Hara haven’t finished the paperwork yet.

Isn’t Kelsey being a bit too tant? Shouldn’t you tell her to

tone it down a little?”

Ellsworth frowned. “What did she do?”

In response to Ellsworth’s question, Johnathan said, “It’s one

thing for her to post about you on Instagram, but now the whole

circle is talking about you attending the Graham family’s

birthday celebration today, saying you’re the Graham family’s -son-inw. Even Sir Graham publicly called you his grandson-in-

“If you two really can’t let go, if you really love each other that

much, just get the paperwork done with Hara sooner. Don’t

make her suffer.”

After Johnathan’s reproach, Ellsworth hung up and opened Instagram, where he saw Kelsey’s post from noon.
