The 100th Attempt to Win Her Back
Craving 186
Chapter186
“No matter what happens, we’ll always be best friends.”
Hugging Kathie back, Harriet gently patted her on the back and
We’ll always be best friends.”
Holding Harriet, Kathie added, “All these years, I’ve never called
you sister–inw. Forget it, I can’t be bothered now. Let’s just
keep being good sisters.”
Harriet nodded vigorously. “Mm–hmm.”
Although she had made peace with Harriet, Kathie still couldn’t
swallow her anger.
After dinner that evening, once Harriet left the Townsend’s
mansion, Kathie called Ellsworth and gave him a thorough
scolding.
She called him stupid, said he didn’t know how to act spoiled or
coax a woman.
But she didn’t mention the agreement.
Chapter186
On the other end of the line, Ellsworth held his phone far away, and before Kathie could finish, he hung up nonchntly.
He had neither the time nor the energy to listen to Kathie
***
Meanwhile, at Auburn Heights.
Harriet had just gotten home when Ellsworth came out of the
bedroom.
He was holding a teacup, the faint aroma of tea wafting from it.
After not seeing him for several days, Harriet nced at him
but didn’t greet him.
Harriet avoided him, making way for him as she tried to head
back to her room. Ellsworth found it amusing and teased,
“Feeling guilty? Can’t even look at me?”
Harriet replied, “No, it’s gettingte. You should rest early.”
Harriet always used this line to end conversations. Ellsworth
was amused and said with a smile, “It’s only a little after eight.
Still early.”
Chapter186
Then, before Harriet could respond, he said, “Come on, Ms.
Chavez, let’s talk in the study.”
He had worked overtime at thepany that afternoon, when
Raymond called and scolded him harshly, then told him to get
back to the Townsend’s mansion.
After he got back, Raymond threw the divorce agreement at him
and told him to sign it quickly.
When he left the backyard with the divorce agreement, he saw
her and Kathie hugging as if they’d suffered a great grievance,
so he didn’t go over to disturb them and left through the side
yard.
Aftering home, he had been waiting for her to return.
When Ellsworth said to talk in the study, Harriet immediately
understood.
Grandpa had already spoken to Ellsworth, and he had probably already received the divorce agreement she had signed.
iSo /ishe nced at Ellsworth and went to the study with him.
This was something that should have been discussed seriously
long ago. He should have signed it long ago.
Chapter186
After they entered the study, Ellsworth walked over to the desk.
and picked up the two agreements.
The ones Harriet had already signed.
He had known that Harriet went to thew firm ito /iget the
agreements a few days ago.
He thought she woulde back and make a scene, but
instead she went to Raymond.
She was clever, really clever.
Looking at Ellsworth calmly, Harriet remainedposed and
unruffled.
But when Ellsworth approached her with the agreements,
Harriet instinctively took a few steps back.
Her thigh brushed lightly against the desk, and Harriet ended up
sitting on the edge, her hands propping herself up on the desk.
Seeing this, Ellsworth took two more steps forward, leaned in
slightly, and casually ced his hands on the desk, trapping
Harriet in his arms.
The posture was quite suggestive.
Chapter186
Seeing this, Harriet raised her right hand to press against his chest, keeping him from getting any closer.
At this moment, Ellsworth picked up the agreement in his hand,
nced at it, and asked with a softugh, “Harriet, who told you
that if you took the divorce agreement to my grandfather, this
matter would be settled?”
Harriet looked up.
Before she could speak, Ellsworth spoke again.
He said calmly, “Grandpa has already scolded me, and the
pressure has been applied.”
Before Harriet could respond, Ellsworth continued, “The
property and assets promised to you in the agreement–the legal department will start processing them tomorrow. You may need
to cooperate with some procedures.”
Listening to Ellsworth, Harriet thought he had already signed the agreement and that she could submit the application on
Monday.
But then, Ellsworth casually tossed the agreement onto the table and said indifferently, “Just don’t bother Grandpa with this
again, and don’t wear yourself out over it.”
Chapter186
Hearing this, Harriet looked at him, her brows furrowing.
“Ellsworth, what do you mean by that?”
Harriet was full of confusion. Ellsworth straightened up and
replied with azy smile, “What do I mean? After all these years,
you still don’t get it? If I don’t want to do something, ido /iyou
think Grandpa can force me?”
Harriet was even more puzzled. She looked at him and asked,
“You’re already dividing the assets, so why not go through with
the procedures?”
