The 100th Attempt to Win Her Back
Craving 208
“Hara, are you going to avoid us forever?” Johnathan continued, “It’s not just a casual dinner. I heard Gxy Innovations is seeking investment, and Darrick and I want your insider
perspective. Maybe you can give us some guidance.”
Before Harriet could reply, Johnathan added, “Let’s just say it’s
settled, okay? I’lle pick you upter.”
Harriet could tell from Johnathan’s tone.
He was determined to see her today and wouldn’t take no for
an answer.
So, with a hint of resignation, she said, “Alright.”
Avoiding the issue wouldn’t solve anything. If she had to face it,
so be it. She and Ellsworth would have to reach a conclusion
sooner orter.
iSo/ii, /ias Harriet was about to get off work, Johnathan drove to
Gxy Innovations.
A momentter, as Harriet came out after work on her crutch,
Johnathan quickly got out of the car to help her with her bag.
Chapter208
When he tried to support her, Harriet said with a wry smile, “Mr.
Burton, you don’t need to help me. I walk more steadily and conveniently on my own.”
Seeing this, Johnathan just gently supported Harriet and walked slowly with her.
When they reached the car, Johnathan opened the front passenger door for Harriet. After she got in, he put her crutch in
the back seat.
Fifteen minutester, when they arrived at the luxury private room at Fredmolix Hotel, Harriet, as expected, saw Ellsworth.
Since that night in the hospital when she argued with him, they
hadn’t seen each other.
“Hara,e sit over here. I saved you a seat,” Kathie called out, waving when she saw Harriet.
Harriet looked at Kathie and walked over on her crutch.
She greeted Darrick, Deandre, and the others, but didn’t greet Ellsworth, nor did she care about his indifference.
In the past, in situations like this, she would always greet him
warmly and look forward to his response.
Chapter208
Now, she no longer had the time or inclination for that.
Whether Ellsworth cared about her or not, she no longer
minded.
Not long after Harriet and Johnathan arrived, the waiter began serving dishes, and everyone chatted as they ate.
Johnathan and Darrick did have questions about Gxy
Innovations‘ investment, and Harriet gave them a professional
and objective analysis.
Her confidence andposure were much better than when she was at the Townsend Group.
After finishing the discussion with Johnathan and the others,
Harriet’s phone rang.
It was a call from Deloris.
Harriet wasn’t used to taking calls in crowded ces, so she picked up her phone and limped outside to answer.
On the other end, Deloris said that Ralph had been feeling weak and had a poor appetitetely, probably because of the hot
weather.
Chapter208
Harriet listened and said, “I’ll go back and check on him tomorrow, then take Grandpa to the hospital for a checkup.”
Deloris replied, “Sir Chavez is getting more stubborn with age. I offered to take him to the hospital, but he refused. The doctor made a house call, but couldn’t find anything wrong. They said it might just be the heat.”
Harriet said, “Alright, I’ll go back tomorrow.”
After chatting for a while longer, they hung up.
After hanging up, Harriet turned around with her phone in hand, about to return to the private room, when she saw that
Ellsworth had somehow appeared behind her.
Their eyes met. Seeing Ellsworth staring at her, Harriet nodded politely to acknowledge him.
Then, as she carefully limped past Ellsworth, he suddenly turned to her and asked gently, “How is your foot recovering?”
These days, he had been away on business trips.
He only returned this afternoon.
Ellsworth took the initiative to speak, and Harriet’s cautious

Turning to look at Ellsworth, she replied politely, “iMuch /ibetter.”
Ever since she had just noticed Ellsworth, he had been watching
her.
Harriet answered calmly, and for a while, Ellsworth just kept looking at her.
Seeing this, Harriet said to him, “Then I’ll head back to the
private room first.”
With that, she once again limped carefully back to the private
room.
In the corridor outside the private room, the yellow lights cast a somewhat quiet atmosphere. Ellsworth looked back and saw
only Harriet’s deste figure.
Even though the private room was lively inside, even though they were surrounded by noise, the Harriet he felt was still all
alone.
She had always been like this since she was a child, speaking
very little.
Chapter208
Not long after Harriet entered the private room, Ellsworth went
in as well.
The two of them chatted with the people beside them, but
neither spoke to the other, not even exchanging nces.
It wasn’t until the dinner ended and everyone went downstairs
together that Johnathan arranged for everyone to go home. He
said to Ellsworth, “Ells, you didn’t drink tonight, right? Then help
me take Hara home.”
