CHAPTER 63: FIVE MAJOR CONTINENTS (1)

After all, things on the eastern continent had begun to become turbulent and strange, and Luke was well aware of this, as was Zoey, naturally.

These words were what truly piqued the curiosity of the seven princesses in the room.

"War?" Penelope asked with great curiosity.

Luke shrugged and said, "Strange things have been happening in the eastern continent for some time now. In several discussions about foreign affairs, we learned that the eastern continent is... how should I put it... in a state of internal war, with many kingdoms being destroyed."

Then, without hesitation, he added, "Mateo’s... That was why Mateo, the king of the Sea People, and naturally his entire people, had disappeared from the Eastern Continent. According to Mateo, the Sea Serpents had begun to behave strangely. Even though they were the lowest category of sacred beasts, being close to dragons, their transformation into mad creatures was not a good sign, sister."

What Luke said was exactly right.

The eastern continent was indeed in great danger. Someone, or perhaps something, had managed to control even the Sea Serpents, which were in the sacred beast category. During a civil war, many kingdoms had been wiped off the eastern continent.

The continent where the Hiera Empire was located, the Hiera Continent, was at the very centre of the world. Literally at the centre.

It was a vital, perfect continent with points where all four seasons could be experienced very well.

The northern part of the continent, as one might expect, faced extreme cold, just like the southernmost part of the continent, because the northern part of the continent was the North Pole, which was considered another continent.

In the south, there was naturally another continent, the South Pole.

The eastern and western continents were regions with axes pointing in different directions.

It was a world consisting of five main continents, but that did not mean there were only five continents. The world was enormous, truly enormous. The fact that Luke’s own region was thousands of kilometres in size and that the Hiera Continent, in which this region was located, was only a very small part of it, was enough to convey this.

There were dozens of continents on the world, but the five main continents were the ones that housed the most life.

The Eastern Continent Karion, the Western Continent Tilios, the Northern Continent Ampekos, and the Southern Continent Mahrak. And of course, the Central Continent Hiera is at the centre of the world.

The Karion Continent was home to the most Half-Demons and Half-Humans, and this continent naturally had an island named Karion, derived from the languages of the two races.

In this shared language, Karion meant "The Place Where the Sun Rises."

The name of the Tilios Continent meant "Nature’s Decision," and this continent was known as the one with the most Elves and Fairies, and it was a continent that used the Elf language. It was also the language Luke’s master spoke because the Hiera Continent was always in close communication with the Tilios Continent.

It was impossible for the Hiera Continent, ruled by humans, and the Tilios Continent, ruled by Elves, not to get along because humans and Elves got along very well.

That is why, in both continents, after their own main races and the races they shared the continent with, humans and Elves were the most numerous.

The exact origins and timing of this friendship were unknown. Still, some legends recounted that one of the Emperors of Hiera had fallen in love with one of the Empresses of Tilios. Still, since they could not be together, they turned their love into friendship, thereby binding the two races together in this way.

Of course, this was enough to explain why Bellatix Hiera, the first female emperor of the Typhoon family in the last two hundred thousand years, was a half-elf.

Friendship was truly eternal and had remained unbroken for hundreds of thousands of years.

That was why Luke had agreed to sell mythril to the Hilios Empire, which ruled the Tilios Continent, at a low price, or rather, without taking a single gold piece from them.

Betraying a friend was unbecoming of a Hiera.

The Ampekos Continent was the largest continent in the north and directly surrounded the entire North Pole. Due to the various and endless minerals found within the massive glaciers, the most common race on the continent was, of course, the dwarves. It was a continent ruled by many High-Dwarf Chiefs, and it had a single emperor.

The empire’s name was the same as the continent’s name. The name Ampekos meant ’The Verdict of Mythril’ in the High-Dwarf language.

The Mahrak Continent, however, was a bit peculiar... This was common knowledge because it was a continent ruled by vampires.

Vampires were not evil beings. After all, there were many types of vampires: Sun Vampires, who could absorb energy from the sun and continue their lives even under the sun, or Life Vampires, who could continue their lives by absorbing energy from small plants.

They were not hostile towards humans, and this was true even for the blood-drinking vampires.

They especially respected the Hieras because historical records stated that Andromeda Ariadne Hiera was the one who had given the entire continent to the vampires.

Naturally, the Southern Continent had been home to dozens of vampire races and millions of vampires who were determined to help the Hieras, even if it meant their deaths.

In the vampires’ language, which was considered incredibly ’noble,’ the name Mahrak, meaning ’Shadow of the Sun,’ was used for the continent and, naturally, as the surname of the Sun Vampire who ruled the entire continent. The reason they were called the Shadow of the Sun was to emphasise that they were the shadow of Andromeda Ariadne Hiera, who had granted them the right to live.

The Mahrak Continent was the continent where the empire ruled by the only woman who had truly known and lived with Andromeda Ariadne Hiera for hundreds of thousands of years was located.
