The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World
Chapter 123- Exhibition Match (2)
CHAPTER 123: CHAPTER 123- EXHIBITION MATCH (2)
"What top three?"
Some of the young knights and squires were all surprised. For them, the Seven Great Knight Orders were all objects of worship; their feats and valor were something that they all grew up reading in books and talks.
Yet one of their high ranking Holy Knights was saying that a foreign knight order was stronger than some of their Seven Great Knight Orders.
It was only natural for these budding knights to be surprised after all, since their joining, they haven’t been on too many expeditions outside the kingdom or even within it, so to speak.
Of course, in that regard, ninety percent of the crowd here was the same. They only know what little stories and poems that they heard from bards and passing merchants.
"Perhaps they could be compared to our order of the Temple of Light when it was in its prime. You see the man with dark black hair and eyes?"
On his indication, everyone turned their focus on Vaerion, seated next to Diana.
"He is the Commander of the Black Gryffin Legion, and just like our own Commander, he is one of the few heroes who managed to reach the legendary level 10."
The more Bob explained, the drastic the shock on the faces of these budding knights became. For their sake, he refrained from mentioning Vaerion’s fight with the Eighth Heavenly King.
Time ticked by, after about half an hour, when the excitement and hubbub of the audience was starting to die down a little, a movement occurred at the centre of the stadium. Space distorted, and in the blink of an eye, two figures stood there, appearing out of nowhere.
This fact itself was surprising; however, when they laid their eyes on the person that was standing in the centre, they all gasped in shock.
With a height well above 195 cm, hair like molten gold and features that made him a man among men.
With broad shoulders and defined muscles that even his clothes cannot hide, he was a living legend, a hero worshipped by the masses.
Who else could it be other than Reinhardt? He stood there with a demi human woman by his side. The latter had brown skin, a long, fluffy tail, and an exotic hourglass like body.
Clad in form fitting body suit and armor that accentuated her mesmerising figure even more. Her form was both sexy and heroic.
As demi humans were very rare in the kingdom, she attracted quite a lot of attention.
"How are your new gears?" Reinhardt questioned.
"Hmm, it does not restrain my movements and is both stylish and made with sturdy material. Hehe, I am quite pleased by the gift that you gave me." Zerina gave him a flirty smile.
"Don’t start again. We are already late because of what happened in the jungle" Their session had lasted for quite a long time, thanks to the competitive nature of this woman.
"Hmph, you should have lost to me at least once, even if it was deliberately. If you did, then we wouldn’t have been late."
There was no arguing with her. Reinhardt quickly changed the subject.
"Anyways, we are here now. I have told you everything that I know; the rest is now on you. Go show them the power you used against me".
Saying that, he turned towards the King and the Queen seated at the elevated platforms of the coliseum. The latter stood up, appeared before the eyes of the spectators, and declared the start of the Exhibition Match.
"The Exhibition match between Order of the Temple of Light and the famous knight order from the Kingdom of Aetherion, the Order of the Black Griffin Legion, will now start. The match will take place inside the World View Imperial Mirror, a special domain with its own separate space"...
"It is one of the treasures left behind by the old gods. As for the rules, they would be the same as all the previous Exhibition Matches. The fight will end once one hour is up, so everyone please enjoy this spectacle between these two powerhouses of a knight order".
WOAHHH... The audience exclaimed, their excitement shooting through the roof.
"Now then, each knight order, please send the knights who are going to fight in the Exhibition Match."
On the Queen’s directive, Reinhardt jumped away from the centre of the coliseum, joined his squad in the audience stands, and sat down.
Eh? What was going on? Why was he not sending in any knights and simply sitting there? Some quick witted ones quickly understood what was going on and looked on with shock and disbelief.
"This cannot be? Is he sending a demi human to fight on behalf of his order?"
Soon, the audience started making a racket. They were all looking at Zerina as if saying ’Why is a lesser being, a slave, standing at the hallowed place where the knights fight’. Some extreme ones even started jeering and throwing their bottles at her.
Despite their ridicule and booing, Zerina continued to stand there, waiting for her opponent to arrive. She already knew she would get this kind of welcome; as such, she wasn’t fazed.
Today, she came here to change the views and beliefs of the humans over demi humans, and changing social stereotypes wasn’t easy. Besides, it was not like there was no one on her side.
On the stand where Reinhardt and his squad were, she could see them cheering for her, telling her to give it her all. That was all the strength she needed.
"You inferior, get out of the stage this instant."
A noble shouted out. He was just about to send someone to drag her away when a shadow appeared in the sky, blotting the sun.
"Hehe, It’s going to be interesting," Vaerion commented from his seat, eyes locked towards the sky.
SCREECH... at his moment, a large piercing cry echoed through the skies of the northern district, followed by a black dot descending from the sky.
