The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World
Chapter 56- Dungeon (3)
CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER 56- DUNGEON (3)
As it is a special realm with its own unique spatial laws, the topography inside was completely different. When Reinhardt dived inside the dungeon, he found himself in a vast, cavernous terrain with winding passages.
Luminent moss grew all around the walls and floor, providing adequate lighting inside the place. Dense demonic energy pervaded the place, making anyone uncomfortable and reducing their strength.
However, in front of Reinhardt who carried numerous divine skills and abilities, the demonic energy dense enough to form fog, ran as if meeting its bane. Everywhere that he went, the place would be baptised by the divine light and become corrupt free.
Demonic monsters came in droves to stop him. However, in front of his sword, they all turned into white ash.
At some point, Reinhardt had equipped his sword, the Solar Edge. A huge greatsword that was half the size of Reinhardt and weighed more than a ton. The hilt of the sword was made of a divine metal, and the blade, a pristine shade of blue, was condensed from the heat of a star.
Be it looks or its power, the sword was the very manifestation of divinity, a weapon made with the sole purpose of punishing the evil. J
ust like his armor, the sword he carried was also a divine weapon given to him by Dioanax. It was one of three items he was bestowed with. The Divine Blade- Solar Edge.
Like the armor Celestial Vanguard that provided unmatched defence, the sword’s sharpness and ability to cull evil was next to none. Be it Giant Spiders, manticores or any monster boasting a high defence, in front of Solar Edge, they were sliced as cleanly as butter.
Every time Reinhardt brandished the sword, the blade left a magnificent blue trail that surged with the heat of the star, slicing and reducing any enemy into ashes within a second.
Before long, Reinhardt arrived at the end of the dungeon after walking through a long winding tunnel.
A huge hall with ominous murals carved onto the wall lay before him. In the centre, there was a huge crimson pool that was bubbling like boiling water, and around it were the hundreds and thousands of dead bodies.
Some had already rotted and become skeletons, while others lay there with their bodies dismembered and blood drained.
The moment he saw the scene, Reinhardt was shaken to his core. A scene so gory and demonic, this was the first time since arriving in this world that he saw a scene that unsettled him so much.
It was not anything unusual for the Reinhardt of this world, but to him, the Reinhardt who came from Earth, this was a very disturbing sight.
That said, thanks to his Divine Traits, he was only fazed for a moment, and he quickly regained his wits the next second.
The sight that lay before him evoked a deep disgust within him, and with that, another emotion surged within him... anger. All these bodies, they might not belong to the same race, but they were all innocent souls, mankind that the knights were supposed to protect.
Seeing them being abused and killed like that, even with the composure that came along with the Divine Traits, Reinhardt’s fury was difficult to suppress.
STEP... STEP.... The sounds of footsteps echoed through the chamber. Hearing this, Elmond turned towards the entrant.
"Oh? So you managed to slip past the demonic monsters huh? As expected of a knight commander, you are truly incredible".
Clap... clap... clap... He clapped his hands, his smile then turned into a disgusting grin the next second.
"However, you are too late though. They have already been sacrificed to lord Xolvoth... hehehe".
Elmond issued a laugh like a maniac, "Slurp~ It’s a pity though, I couldn’t enjoy their bodies this time. Sullying their minds and spirits before slicing their bodies piece by piece... it is truly the greatest joy".
Reinhardt continued to walk forward, his eyes observing the seven bodies that were brought here not too long ago. Just like the others, their faces were distorted in torment and stained with tears.
Clench... the sword on his hand tightened further.
"Hm?" seeing the knight approach closer and closer, Elmond arched his brows "Haa... I don’t know what you are planning to do, but you are already too late. The revival of lord Xolvoth is imminent, there is nothing you can do at this point..."
The elf chief didn’t get to complete his sentence as his head fell off from his shoulders.
Whoosh... the fire from the star enveloped his body, and he was disintegrated into nothing within seconds.
Reinhardt lowered his sword and looked at the seven dead bodies before him. Before entering the dungeon, he had just assured Zerina that he would bring them back safe and sound no matter what.
And what was the result? No, he refused to accept this outcome. He was and should be in all aspects, inevitable. This was why he wanted all those overpowered abilities from Dioanax.
"If need be, I will reverse fate using that skill, but before that..." Reinhardt slowly shifted his eyes at the being who was sitting on a throne made of blood with one leg crossed over the other.
The latter was grinning ear to ear and made no attempts to make any sound. A body that closely resembled humans, twin horns that protruded from their head, a long, thin black tail, limbs that were covered in black fur of malice.
There was no doubt, the being in front of him was a demon and not just any demon, but a very high ranking one at that.
The latter appeared from the boiling pool of blood while Reinhardt was busy coming to terms with the outcome. What was eerie about this demon was that even though it could attack him while he was feigning a lack of guard, it didn’t and simply sat there silently.
"That was fast. Are you done mourning for the dead?" the demon spoke with its raspy voice.
