That said, Reinhardt was not offended at all because he knew that was just how this person was. What’s more, the other party also held the rank to speak to him in equal terms, after all, they were the Vice Commander of this Order, Ryley.

Not many knights knew about him, especially the new recruits, since the latter was always busy with office work to make an appearance. However, Ryley was no doubt a part of the order.

"The vice commander is as busy as ever to not even have the time to talk."

Reinhardt made an apologetic face when faced with that glare. He was, after all, partly to be blamed for increasing his work. After the previous owner of this body fell into a comatose state, it was Ryley who handled most of the tasks the order was burdened with.

"So, how are our new residents doing?"...

"Four out of the six races that you brought along with you have already started integrating with the human societies. You could leave it to the elves and the panther tribe. One race is extremely rational and can be easily convinced with reason, while the other possesses an inherent friendly nature"...

"Thanks to these two races, the demi humans from the former Toto village had opened up to us humans somewhat. However, there are two tribes, or you can say youths from among them, that are creating some trouble. Well, we humans are partly at blame too"...

"Looks like it would take some time."

On his directives, the demi humans settled in an area that was not far from the Lumiose City and were building a new village there. Of course, for that to happen, a boatload of things need to be set up first.

"I see, for now, send some knights there to uphold safety and laws. Make sure they are powerful enough to be able to keep the demi humans youth in check"...

"I have already sent a few parties to patrol that area ahead of time. However, the current Order is lacking in manpower too much. Isn’t it time that Commander recruits a new Vice Commander? I don’t have the ability to lead the order in your absence. All I can do is these measly paperwork".

It was as he said, even though he was the acting Vice Commander, in terms of ability, he was only at level 4. If not for the fact that he could make up for the areas he was lacking with his intellect, someone like him would never be able to join the knight orders.

In that aspect, the order of the Temple of Light was quite peculiar to have chosen him.

"Believe me, I would have recruited them if there was someone eligible".

"Well, it cannot be helped for the time being. The seat left behind by the previous Vice Commander is that big after all. For now, I am fine acting as the Vice Commander, but I am not really suited for it. I am the strategist for god’s sake".

"Haha, I’ll do my best".

"By the way, Commander, before you leave, can I ask one thing? Why did you go so far as to help the demi humans migrate? Even if they are a race that is on the verge of extinction, you should know it was by their own choice. Their civilisation and technology are now completely lost. Even if you bring them here, there is not much benefit to it, is there?"

Ryley placed the document in his hand down and looked at him.

Why did he bring the demi humans here huh? Well, as a person from the modern earth, he didn’t want their race to go extinct from this planet. If he had to say, that would be his answer; he pitied them.

That said, that was not what Ryley was looking for. As the commander of one of the Seven Great Knight Orders, it was his duty to be chivalrous. However, he was the knight of Solaris; his first and foremost priority should be to his kingdom and his people.

With the forces of darkness continuously attacking the inhabitable lands, more and more people displaced from the borderlands are pouring into the Seven Great Kingdoms.

More residents meant more mouths to feed. Even if he was a Commander, he could not just make a decision like that arbitrarily. In fact, although he had harboured the demi humans in the Arcknight territory, it was only temporarily.

He has to give an account to the crown and convince them of the benefits and only then will this work. That said, the answer he could come up with from his experience after being in contact with them was—

"They are strong!".

Everything else aside, the very fact that these demi humans from the Toto village were able to survive as long as they did after the fall of their nation and civilisation was something to be admired for.

The struggle to survive and fight for their livelihood in an extreme environment where they would be dead if they showed any weakness, had honed them into the most finest of warriors.

It was that zeal and drive that refused to give up even in the face of despair that Reinhardt brought them here.
