CHAPTER 82: CHAPTER 82- ESCORTING THE TWO LADIES

Tick.. tick... seconds passed by, in the direction where he threw a punch, a ripple appeared in the air, followed by a loud sonic boom. The force of the punch was so great that a thirty feet long gouge appeared on the empty ground.

Reinhardt opened his eyes and looked at the result of his training.

"I guess this is the most I can suppress my power right now".

Thanks to his Divine Traits and talent, just a few hours of training allowed him to reap benefits that would otherwise take him months. Anyways, thanks to the training, he was now able to suppress his stats to a great extent.

If previously he could only use the force of [Divine (Beginning)], then now he was able to use his strength at the level of [High (High)].

While this may be a great progress, the stat was still at the level of superhuman. He needed to bring it down some more to be able to handle his day to day activities easily.

Be that may, this was a good start. After finishing his training, he went to the headquarters of the Temple of Light to do his duty. By the time he was done with some of the work, afternoon rolled in, and he had to go back to the mansion.

Back in the estate, Verdia and Miranda were already waiting for him. It was planned yesterday that the two of them would visit the market, and he had to escort them. A carriage was already prepared in front of the gate.

As soon as Reinhardt arrived, the three of them got in head for the market.

"Fufu... going to the market with just the three of us, I am quite excited," Miranda initiated a conversation.

Verdia nodded "It has indeed been a while since the last time we went together to the market. You have changed quite a lot since then"...

"My, lady Verdia jests. I’m still the very same person I used to be"...

"Not that, how do I say it, you seem more confident and overflowing in grace now. Quite a difference from the you from one year ago".

Reinhardt, who was listening in on their conversation, suddenly recalled the words Miranda told him back at the vault. If it were one year ago, then it must be because of that incident that she changed.

"Hmm, I guess I did. Well, what does young master Reinhardt think? Is the previous or current me better?"

Suddenly, Miranda turned the conversation towards him.

"I think... lady Miranda is lady Miranda. Whether it be the current you or the previous, both are beautiful".

"Fufu," Miranda smiled "Spoken like a true knight".

Verdia looked at the two of them conversing while inwardly thinking in her head ’When did the two of them get so close?’.

She clutched her chest, for some reason, her heart felt like it was being clutched by something.

The journey continued with the three of them making some light conversation. Soon, they arrived at their destination, the western block of Lumoise city, a heaven for shoppers.

"Where should we go first?" Verdia asked.

Miranda looked out through the glass and suggested "We are close to Opaline Street. How about we go to Velvet & Vellum?"

"Oh? I have never heard of that shop. Has it newly opened?"

"That’s right. It hasn’t even been three months since the shop opened. I have heard great reviews of the shop from patrons of our church. Let’s use this chance to visit the place".

The place Miranda was talking about was a fine looking shop with a stone facade and enchanted vines. Looking at it, appeared that the shop dealt in fashionable silk garments. When Reinhardt and the others entered, the scent of rosewood assaulted their noses.

The shop was brightly lit with adequate space and shelves placed at an interval around the shop.

"Welcome to the Velvet & Vellum. May I know what this sir, and the ladies behind him are looking for?" As one would expect of a high class shop, the customer service was top notch.

Reinhardt shook his head and pointed at the two women behind him. The ones shopping were these two; he was here purely as their escort.

"In that case, shall I show the young master to the lounge? You can read a magazine while the ladies finish their shopping".

That would be for the best, Reinhardt nodded his head. When it came to shopping, it was a woman’s natural instinct. He would only get in their way had he stayed. And so, while being served by the staff some good tea and snacks, he read the magazine.

It was good to work hard and train every day, but one also needed days like this to relax and drain their exhaustion. Of course, he didn’t come here with just that in mind.

"Karina" he called out. Immediately, the shadow beneath him quivered, and a sexy assassin woman wearing skin tight leather materialised in front of him.

Karina bowed her head and asked for his command.

"I went through Ryley’s report. Apparently, there is some kind of friction going on between the new demi human citizens and the inhabitants of the southern district. Investigate the reason for me"...

"As you command" Karina nodded and melded into thin air.

Stealth huh, that was quite a useful skill. Too bad, it was not suited for him. What’s more, given his flashiness and size, it would be quite weird if he learned a skill like that.

While Karina investigated the disturbance for him, Reinhardt relaxed in the lounge, enjoying the tea. When done browsing through the items, they would move to a different shop.

One after another, they visited quite a few shops. During this whole time, Reinhardt was purely just a surfer, getting swept by the tide.

After entering another shop, Reinhardt who was lazily glancing out of the balcony, suddenly felt a fluctuation of mana coming from inside one of the speeding carriages that quickly disappeared inside the centre of the city.

"What was that about?"
