CHAPTER 83: CHAPTER 83- THE RECRUITS AND THE TWO WOLF KIN BOYS

The fluctuation of mana wasn’t weak. From its pulse, he believed that it could only be unleashed by someone with an [Intermediate (Intermediate)] stat in mana. A person with such a stat definitely had to be above level 5.

"Are they members of some guild?" That could be the only logical reason.

Just as he thought that he had nothing else to do but to guess who some random party passing through the road on a carriage was, Karina returned back to his side.

"Did you find any clues?"

He was so bored that he would even go on some random goose hunt. Thankfully, his capable subordinate returned with some useful information.

After hearing Karina’s report, Reinhardt narrowed his eyes. The information he got from Ryley made more sense now.

"To think that such an underground business was going on in Lumiose City right under the nose of the Order of the Temple of Light. Did you find out about the parties involved?"...

The assassin shook her head "It would take some time to crack down on the parties involved".

Reinhardt thought for a while before asking "How long do you need?"

This was a serious matter and needed to be dealt with as soon as possible, or it ran the risk of destroying the city.

"If I had more help, I can find where they are from and their association in..." Karina extended five of her fingers.

"Five days... huh. I guess it cannot be helped..."

At those words, the former shook her head, "No, if I have the aid of the assassins from the family, I can track them down in five hours".

Reinhardt widened his eyes. Though from the memories, he knew the Mad Blade was extremely capable, he didn’t know she would be this good.

"Very good, then get to it as soon as possible... [Dimensional Storage]"

A small gate the size of a Frisbee appeared. Reinhardt inserted his hand into it and pulled out an insignia carrying the authority of the head of the Arcknight family.

"Use this, use as many men and resources as you need," he tossed the insignia towards Karina, who respectfully caught it.

"Yes, master."

After storing the insignia carefully inside her bosom, she looked at him and reported "By the way master, on my way here I saw some of the new recruits get into trouble with the members of the gang involved in this incident."

"What? New recruits, you say? Their job should be to patrol the city. Who are they, and how did they get in trouble?"

Karina narrated what she saw "The young boy with black hair and crimson sword was patrolling the city with the other recruits when he stumbled across some humans fighting two demi human Therianthrope in an alleyway"...

"The fight escalated, and it seemed like he needed to step in. While that boy may be powerful, the enemy also had reinforcements. Before I left, I saw the new recruits and the demi humans getting cornered".

Attacking members of the Order of the Temple of Light, even if they were new recruits, was a serious offense. Looks like with the influx of immigrants from the borderlands, Lumiose City has become somewhat lawless.

As the commander of the Order of the Temple of Light, he needed to restore order back before the streets were filled with ruffians.

"Master, are you going?"

Reinhardt nodded his head. Although he doubted he would have to step in, he still wanted to go there and check what was going on.

He glanced at the two ladies who were happily shopping inside. It didn’t look like they would be done anytime soon. He had time to spare.

Reinhardt jumped off, his powerful and stats and leg muscles allowed him to soar through the sky as if he were flying.

Relying on his memories of the city, he quickly made his way to the alleyways that Karina mentioned. He stepped on the air to kill his momentum and lightly landed on the roof of a nearby building.

In his mind, he thought that he would see the new recruits struggling and being backed into a corner. However, when he laid his eyes on the scene, he was dumbfounded.

"This..."

Why would he not? After all, the recruit fared much better than he thought. In fact, they even had slight edge over the other party.

Karina reported that they were struggling, so what changed? If he had to point out, it would be the appearance of a girl with rose gold hair. Using the techniques she had shown back during the Magic Knight Entrance Exam, she was stopping the high levelled opponents all by herself.

No, it would be wrong to say she was by herself. Kevin was also assisting her with his skills that he had honed so far.

"The both of them have improved a lot".

He was not talking purely in terms of their skill, their bodies which had been put to a rigorous training regime and diet that he created for them, allowed them to grow drastically.

They themselves might not have realised it, but they were tapping into a strength that they did not have before and potential that was previously being wasted.

This not only went for Gwen and Kevin, but the other recruits were the same. All of them had grown a lot stronger than before. Even if the other party had more numbers and experience under their belt, the new recruits of the Order of the Temple of Light were no pushover that could be picked on.

"Dammit, you guys will regret it. You shouldn’t have meddled in our affairs."

Saying that, the ruffians started running. Those who couldn’t or were knocked out were left there.

"Come back here. For breaking laws and using arms inside the city, you are under arrest." Gwen tried to run after them. However, these guys knew the alleyways like the back of their hands and quickly disappeared.

"The sewers huh. Their actions and the way they handled the sword, does not appear amateurish. They definitely had to be members of some organisation" Reinhardt commented, observing the whole fiasco from the rooftop.
