CHAPTER 29: SYSTEM FAILING--THE HOST HAS MATED THE SUCCUBI.

Selendra moved faster, bouncing on me with a rhythm that made my voice break every time her hips dropped. I couldn’t hold the sounds in..every thrust dragged another moan out of my throat. My nails dug into her thighs, useless to stop her, only clinging as she used me the way she wanted.

I lay frozen, still inside her, chest rising and falling hard. Shame burned through the haze of release and my hands trembled against the stone floor. "Alma...?" I whispered again.

There was still no reply.

The charm on my chest glowed a sickly red,he usual steady hum was gone. In its place was a low, broken buzz that sank my stomach.

Selendra chuckled when she saw my panic. "Don’t worry about her. She’s just sulking." She kissed me again, deep and slow, savoring the taste of my fear. "You’ll learn,I’m the one who can really make you feel alive."

"Shut up," I rasped, shoving at her shoulders. She didn’t move,my body was too weak to push her off.

She smirked. "Oh, you’re adorable when you try to fight. But you’ll come back for more." Her hips gave a teasing roll that made me gasp despite myself.

The charm pulsed one more time..faint, fading.

The words burned across my vision, then blinked out.

Selendra’s smile widened. She leaned down, lips brushing my ear. "Looks like it’s just the two of us now, host."

My body went cold with fear.

Selendra only laughed, sliding off me with a slow stretch. Her tail flicked lazily, like a cat after a kill. "You’ll get used to the quiet. You don’t need her, not when you have me."

I sat up, choking on panic. "Shut up! She’s part of me...I need her!" My fists pounded the stone floor until my knuckles split. No hum,no voice,nothing.

Rhea’s voice cut from the cave mouth. "Eiji?" Her steps were quick, alarm sharp in her tone. "What happened?"

I scrambled to pull my trousers up,my heart hammering in my ches..Vesper slipped in behind her, eyes sharp as she scanned the room. They both froze when they saw Selendra smirking beside me, tail swaying.

Rhea’s hand went to her blade. "What did you do?"

Selendra purred, running a finger down her throat. "Relax, little knight... He begged for it. Didn’t you, host?"

"I..I didn’t.." My voice cracked. My throat closed. Rhea’s glare burned through me.

Vesper crouched and touched the charm on my chest. She flinched at the cold. "It’s dead. Alma’s link is broken."

The words gutted me. My vision blurred. "No... she can’t be.."

Selendra’s grin widened. "She’s not dead,just locked out. You should thank me,now you’re free."

Rhea stepped forward, sword half-drawn. "Undo it..now."

Selendra only licked her lips. "Or what? You’ll kill me and lose your little boy’s only chance of power?"

The ground shook beneath us,dust trickled from the ceiling. The charm sparked weakly, like a dying ember.

A single line flickered across my vision.

The words faded.

My stomach turned ice.

"Rhea..." My voice was barely sound. "If we don’t fix this...she’ll be gone. Forever."

The earth rumbled again,a horn blew in the distance...the Soldiers were on us again.

Vesper hissed through her teeth. "We don’t have time for this."

Selendra only smiled wider, stretching like a queen on her throne. "Then you better decide, host. Cling to your little ghost... or accept me as your system instead."
