The Alpha King And His Omega
Chapter 34 - 034
CHAPTER 34: 034
Tristan woke up with a long stretch, his body felt more relaxed than when he last remembered.
He lay still on the bed and stared blankly at the ceilings until the memories started rushing back, he sat up immediately. But a painful pang made him wince and he held his head with both hands.
"Why did you drink alcohol?" The voice he wasn’t expecting to hear asked.
The Alpha was standing by the window with his back turned to him.
The semi-darkness of the room hid him and Tristan was stunned to see him standing there.
He left the question unanswered and lay down back on the bed. Trying to pretend to sleep again.
He was unsure of how he got here or if he had misbehaved while he was drunk but somehow he is in the room with him and the Alpha doesn’t look pleased.
And he also wasn’t ready to speak with him.
"Tristan" Alpha Mitch called softly and Tristan breath hitched.
He had never said his name before, maybe not directly in front of him.
Seeing that the Omega was ignoring him, Alpha Mitch matched towards the bed and pulled covers back.
"Why are you ignoring me?" He asked in a cold voice and Tristan scooted away from him after hearing his question.
Since he pulled the covers away he couldn’t hide under them but he still covered his ears with hands.
"Everything you heard wasn’t a lie" Alpha Mitch’s voice softened as he began.
He was tired of the distance between them increasing by every passing second.
"I did not choose you and didn’t even know who you were. I only agreed because I needed to not because I wanted to. If those words had hurt then you need to hear them again to understand". As if someone had twisted a knife in his heart, Tristan felt an intense pain from within.
"Is it because I... I am a male Omega?
Is that why you hate me?" Tristan asked with his hands still over his ears as tears slowly gathered in his eyes.
"I... Alpha Mitch’s voice trailed off as he had no idea what to say to his question. He did not hate him but he can’t admit that without confessing his feelings.
Which he never dawned on him that he had till that moment.
"Can you let me go?
I’m sure you would find someone better than me. Can you please just let me return home?" Tristan’s voice trembled as silent sob vibrated his whole body but he did not want the Alpha to know he was crying.
He already hates him, he doesn’t want him to get disgusted by the sight of him.
Alpha Mitch’s gaze stayed on him and he was at a loss on what to say or do but one thing was sure for him.
He would never let him go, he would chain him down if he had to.
"No, I cannot let you go!" Alpha Mitch spat and stormed out. His hand trembled as he walked out the door.
"Mitch?"
He spun around to see his Mom, basking in the bright glow of the hanging chandelier in the hallways.
She smiled at him and he relaxed a little.
"Is everything alright?
Where is Tristan?" She asked as she noticed his clenched fists.
"He is inside" Alpha Mitch responded and gestured towards the door behind him.
"And?
Is something wrong?
Do you want to talk about it?" She continued to pry on.
But contrary to what the Alpha thinks, his mother had come to find him after what happened between them.
It had reminded her of what she and the late Alpha went through. She believes it would be sad to watch him and his mate go through the same thing.
Alpha Mitch nodded to her question after silent deliberations.
He followed her to her room and they sat on the chairs in her verandah.
"He thinks I hate him" Alpha Mitch started softly.
"Oh, poor him," She exclaimed.
"But how can I hate him?
Although it was a bit unusual at first as I never really had Omegas around me or gotten close to one but I slowly started to...
"Like him?" His Mom finished his statement in a hopeful voice.
"When the problem of the pack elders got too much, Gale had suggested I choose an Omega and I agreed but I left the task to him.
I did not regret doing so but it’s all for the pack. But we signed a marriage certificate at the registry.
Isn’t all of that enough?" Alpha Mitch asked in a frustrated tone.
"All of what?
You said he thinks you hate him, didn’t you say anything to convince him?" She asked in an alarmed voice.
"What can I say?
If that’s how he feels, is there any effect words would have on him?" Alpha Mitch asked and his Mom gasped in shock as she could not believe what was coming out of his mouth.
"You need to find a way to tell him you do not hate, that you like him.
Do you feel happy to see him cry? He is fragile at heart as well as physically. The more you hurt the more pain you will also pass through!" She continued in desperation.
"Wait, is that why I feel pain in my heart?"
"That is possible after you... umm...get intimate. Have you—
Alpha Mitch’s expression darkened as he continued to listen to her talk.
He wasn’t expecting their discussion to drive towards that direction.
You have done that?" She asked again but went silent afterwards.
"You better know what you are doing, you married him, you like him, and you did whatever with him. You then intend to hurt him. I won’t allow that".
"I never said I like him" Alpha Mitch corrected and her mouth hung open but no words could come out.
She couldn’t believe what she just heard from him after all her nagging and he was adamant.
"What is wrong with you?!"
"Nothing, I’m fine" He replied coldly and stood up to leave.
