CHAPTER 46: 046

Alpha Mitch stared at the doctor with wide eyes.

He couldn’t believe what he just heard.

"No one has ever survived it?"

He thought in fear and disbelief.

He dismissed him with a wave of a hand and went back to Tristan.

His only option left was to wait for someone that knows about poison. The doctor had said there was little that could be done to help, but he wasn’t going to believe that and just wait for him to die.

It’s impossible. Death would have to fight him for that to happen.

He met his mother and sister with Tristan when he returned to the room.

The look on their faces added to his guilt and he numbly walked over to the bed.

"What did the doctor say?" His Mother asked eagerly.

Alpha Mitch ignored her question because he could not bring himself to repeat those words out loud. He does not believe it, so he cannot say it.

Repeating it feels like he was confirming it.

"Is he going to wake up? His skin is too cold" Mariah added in a small voice. And that made him frown.

"Can you both please leave?" Alpha Mitch asked without answering any of their questions. Their presence was making it hard for him to think properly.

The mother and daughter exchanged a look and Mariah got up from where she had sat on the bed after her Mother gestured for them to leave.

Once alone, Alpha Mitch shrugged out of his jacket and climbed onto the bed. He pulled the covers around them and wrapped his arms around Tristan. His heart dropped when he couldn’t hear him breathe.

He put a hand close to his nose and felt a faint warmth on his finger.

He sighed and brought him closer. If there wasn’t anything that could be done now, he needed to keep him as warm as possible.

A couple of hours passed and Gale was yet to return, but Alpha Mitch still hadn’t moved from the bed. He was slightly relieved because his method works and Tristan is no longer as cold as before but his skin was the same.

A gentle knock sounded on the door and Gale walked in. He paused briefly, taken aback by the sight before him but the Alpha’s eager eyes reminded him of the problem at hand.

"I couldn’t get anyone," Gale reported.

"But I was referred to someone that is very good with poison".

"Who?!" Alpha Mitch asked eagerly. His heart thumped with excitement.

Finding someone is solving a fraction of the problem at hand.

Gale hesitated after he asked to know who.

He never expected something like this soon.

"Agatha" Gale whispered as if the name was a taboo.

He watched closely as the light in the Alpha’s eyes died down.

The last time the two of them had clashed, he had gotten Agatha angry to the extent that it would be a miracle if she helped them.

"So?"

"I went to meet her and she said you would have to come to her yourself".

Alpha Mitch’s arms subconsciously tightened around Tristan.

Unlike what Gale had expected, he watched in disbelief as the Alpha ordered things to be put in place and those that would care for the Omega.

"Is he really going to meet Agatha"

Gale thought in disbelief. He had wished the Alpha pride would be too big for him to meet Agatha so that the Omega could finally cease to exist.

They set to leave the pack house very early the following morning.

If Agatha was meeting people she could come through any doors in the world, but if they were meeting her it’s a different case.

There is a particular cabin outside the pack borders where people meet her.

They got there after a few hours and the surroundings were surprisingly deserted.

Alpha Mitch stayed behind Gale as he knocked on the door.

No response came and his knuckles were about to hit the door for the second time when a voice sounded from within.

"The door is opened" Agatha replied from within.

Gale looked back at the Alpha and the frown on his face made him nervous and somewhat happy.

He wished he would ruin his chance with Agatha and the Omega won’t get a cure, but he was scared things would get worse between the Alpha and the sacred being.

Alpha Mitch stepped inside the old house, he looked around until he saw Agatha sitting on a rug with her back turned to him.

He scoffed under his breath and remained standing.

Gale didn’t go inside with him and stood guard outside.

"What do you want ?" Agatha asked without turning to look at him.

"You know why I am here," Alpha Mitch replied.

"If you do not answer my questions properly, then we would waste more time".

"I need the cure or antidote to a poison called Death Lilly".

Agatha gasped but didn’t say another word for another minute.

"For you?" She asked.

Alpha Mitch fists clenched as he knew she was messing with him.

She knew everything even before he stepped through the door.

"If you want me—

"No, for my Omega" he replied, his jaw clenching.

The room went quiet again and neither of them said a word until Agatha chuckled.

"Why should I help you remove the Death Lilly?" She asked after a few minutes.

"You insulted me the last time we met. Like you said, my powers had gotten to my brain so I do not think" She continued in a mocking tone.

She slowly turned around to face him.

Alpha Mitch’s eyes fell from her face and he knew he had shot himself on the foot.

His words had come back to haunt him.

"Answer me Alpha King Mitch, why should a lunatic like me help you?" She asked again, looking straight at him.

Alpha Mitch gritted his teeth and looked back at her.

"Please help me," he pleaded.

She continued to look at him as a smirk played around her lips, and in the next second Alpha Mitch does something he never thought he would do in his entire life.

Swallowing his pride, he went down on his knees.
