The Alpha King And His Omega
Chapter 50 - 050
CHAPTER 50: 050
Tristan was about to panic but he soon realised he had fallen asleep. He continued to stare at his face until he also fell asleep.
A few hours later, he woke up in bed all alone.
He sat up quickly as he noticed the strange environment before he remembered he had returned to the pack house. He had spent such a long time with Agatha that he had gotten used to the old and bare walls of the room he used.
He came out of the room to an empty hallway before him, he frowned slightly as it was almost impossible for that to happen.
There were always people walking around or a guard in one place or another especially by the door if he was in the room like this.
This made the whole house so eerily quiet that he could hear his own breathing.
Still curious about everyone’s whereabouts, he walked down the stairs and towards the front door.
That was when he heard it, loud clamouring and booing sounds from outside.
It was as if a riot was going on.
He paused with his hands on the door ready to push it open but he hesitated unsure of what was outside.
When he opened the door, he noticed the front of the pack house was equally empty, the noise was coming from somewhere else.
Still confused, he circled to the back of the pack house.
He gasped softly as he finally found the source of the noise and the emptiness of the house.
Everyone, including women and men, old and young, were all talking and shouting all at once.
The expression on their faces matched the sound of their voices. And it’s not a pleasant sight.
And he was glad no one noticed him.
"What do they want?"
Tristan thought as his eyes travelled to Alpha Mitch standing on the higher ground in front of them.
He was looking at them with a frown and rigid expression.
He stood tall and strong with his arms folded behind his back.
His eyes never faltered as he listened to them. If anything, he seems to stand taller despite the commotion.
"If you can’t lead properly then leave the pack!.
We will lead ourselves!" someone from the crowd yelled suddenly.
A few nods of affirmation followed and others echoed his words.
Tristan’s mouth opened slightly and a feeling of sadness stifled the happiness within him.
The pack members are revolting.
The thought filled him with dread, it had gotten to this point. He never thought they would openly and boldly voice out against their Alpha King.
It takes like little thinking for him to know it’s because of him.
From the state he met the Alpha today, it means he hadn’t been functioning and doing his duty as the Alpha of the pack.
And it’s all because of him.
How much more damage could he incur on the Alpha?
Tristan turned back to the pack house unnoticed.
He walked inside slowly, deep in thought.
This was his biggest fear, becoming the Alpha’s downfall.
***
Tristan waited for the Alpha to return but things dragged on and even till night he still didn’t see him.
His maid came inside to announce dinner was ready.
"Or would you like to eat here?" She asked as she always does and he shook his head.
"Is the Alpha back?" Tristan asked, he has been waiting for hours.
"He is currently in a meeting with some people, he should be back soon" She replied with a smile.
But her smile was only superficial, just like every worker and servant of the pack, she was afraid. If the people eventually change their Alpha, they would suffer but more than that she was worried about the Omega.
What would become of him?.
"I would eat here then"Tristan changed his mind.
Even after the food was brought inside, he could not eat properly and he continued to wait for the Alpha.
When it was some minutes before midnight, he finally returned.
Alpha Mitch opened the door carefully, he had been gone for too long. But his mind had remained on the certain Omega that he was impatient through the day.
He wouldn’t have paid much attention to what happened but the clamouring was led by the pack elders. They were finally done with him, they said.
They want him to step down from the position that he had held for ten years now.
He had almost laughed at their words, the pack had grown under his watch but they suddenly thought he could no longer rule properly.
Just because of a few days of indulgence he had suddenly become useless, but he has his suspicions.
All of that wasn’t even enough to distract him from the enticing scent of the Omega that slept on the bed in front of him now.
Tristan heard the door opened but with his back to the door he appeared to be sleeping.
He smiled when he realised the Alpha was making minimal sound around him. He probably thought he was deeply asleep and didn’t want to wake him.
Whereas he couldn’t sleep, his mind and body were widely awake.
He did not move or speak until he felt the bed dipped beside him.
Alpha Mitch moved closer and wrapped an arm around his body, only then did he turn to face him.
"Oh, you are awake.
Or did I wake you?" Alpha Mitch asked, surprised by the eyes that looked at him with a hint of laughter in them.
"I was waiting for you" Tristan replied and turned fully to face him.
"Why?
It’s very late already" Alpha Mitch said with a chuckle. Tristan struggled to keep the smile wide on his face as he noticed the dark circles under his eyes.
"Because I missed you" he replied simply and Alpha Mitch’s eyes widened at his words.
He wasn’t expecting him to be plain and direct, it’s unlike him.
Always shy and evasive or just scared of him.
"I missed you too, terribly". Alpha Mitch confessed and moved his face closer to his wanting to kiss him.
And surprisingly for the second shock of the night, the Omega joined their lips and kissed him first.
Vaguely he remembered their first day together.
