CHAPTER 62: 062

Through the drive back home Tristan didn’t say anything, he only stared outside the car window but wasn’t really seeing anything. Trevor beside him was deeply worried.

"How did he get involved with that Alpha King?" He thought to himself but did not plan on asking. Maybe in the future he would be able to ask without any worries.

Tristan bid him good night and walked away slowly with his shoulders slouched.

Trevor watched him for a while before he ordered the driver to start the car.

His brows furrowed as he entered into deep thoughts, he realised for the first time that his father’s wealth and reputation means nothing when his opponent is an Alpha King. He hasn’t been in such a situation before but he does not plan to give up no matter what.

Tristan barely registered what Nita was saying as sleep gradually consumed him.

He suddenly felt like his strength and vigor had depleted a thousand folds.

"Goodnight" Nita whispered and tucked the bed covers around them properly but she remained awake for a while watching the Omega.

The following morning began just as eventful as the day before, loud knocking on the door startled Nita awake.

Looking around in surprise, she groaned and dragged herself out of the bed.

"Who the hell is that?" She said as rubbed the remaining sleep off her eyes.

Peeping through the hole on the door to see, she gasped immediately she recognised the person on the other side.

She rushed back into the room, alarmed.

"Tristan!

Wake up!" She began, vigorously shaking him.

"What is it?" Tristan whined and tried to get away from her.

Nita removed the covers on his body and gently tapped him on the face.

"It’s your father!" She whispered-yelled.

Tristan took a second to process what she said and his eyes flashed open immediately.

"My father?".

"Yes!, he is outside the door. How did he know you are here?!" Nita asked in panic.

She had met his father only once before and the impression she had of him was very bad.

She had told Tristan immediately they met again that she does not like his father but there was little she could do to help him.

Tristan hurried off the bed, but was caught by the bed covers and fell straight to the floor.

"Ah!" Nita screamed in shock and hurried to help him off the ground.

Tristan folded over in pain and clutched his head.

He turned over on his back and stared blankly ahead for a few seconds before standing up.

His eyes blurred and his gaze were unfocused.

He shook his head but a headache followed and he made his way to the door.

He opened it and before could talk, a loud smack hit him across the face. Nita gasped behind him and everything seemed to stop for a few seconds as his ear rang painfully from the slap.

He blinked away the tears that gathered in his eyes and looked towards his stepfather.

He noticed that his mother was standing behind him but he did not acknowledge her presence.

"Is this what you do to repay everything that I have done for you?!" His stepfather asked while wagging a finger close to his face.

"What did I do?" Tristan asked in a wavering voice. His face contorted in anger at the face of his father’s anger.

How can he act towards him like this after practically selling him off to an Alpha.

"How could you decide on your own to leave?!" His father barked again.

"Ask yourself!

You said you would fix it and it was only for a short time. I spent months with him. Do you even care what happened to me there?!" Tristan yelled, startling all of them.

Nita looked at him like he just grew a horn in the middle of his head.

His outburst shut his father up for up to a minute, he had no comeback to what he said because it was the truth.

"Even a short time could be years, that gives you no reason to leave!" His father said again and Tristan jaw dropped at the extent of his shamelessness.

"Get your daughter to do it then!" Tristan replied and shut the door in his face before he could respond.

Nita stood still and watched everything unfold like it was a blockbuster.

Her best friend was standing up for himself.

She thought proudly and in slight shock.

Tristan turned around to see her staring at him.

"What?" Tristan asked with his chest heaving slightly.

His hands still trembled from how he had shouted just now.

He cannot explain what had made him so bold to say all that but all that boldness was gone and only a nervous breakdown is all that’s left.

"I never thought a day would come that I would see you yell at someone" Nita replied and moved to hug him.

Nita pulled back with a frown.

"You smell a little different today, are you on heat?" She asked and Tristan slowly shook his head.

"I smell different?" He asked in confusion as he recalled Alpha Mitch said the same thing.

"I haven’t really gone through heat for a while now". He replied but a knock on the door interrupted their discussion.

"He hasn’t left yet?" Nita asked with wide eyes.

"Don’t worry, let me deal with him!" She said and went to open the door but Tristan’s mind was still on their discussion.

Why has his scent changed suddenly?.

He thought in confusion.

Nita suddenly shut the door and turned towards him.

"There is someone outside the door," she announced softly. It was rare for her to get visitors and it’s even more rare when she was not expecting anyone.

"Who?"

"I do not know either but he said he is here for you" She replied.

Tristan frowned and joined her there but standing outside was a face Tristan cannot recognise.

They exchanged a look as the man produced an envelope from his jacket pocket.

"I’m Boston". He introduced himself.
