CHAPTER 84: 084

Tristan did not know the extent of the change that the completion of their bond would bring.

Everything had been normal at first until he gradually grew extremely attached to the Alpha King that it became a cause for worrying for him.

Although the Alpha King didn’t mind and would indulge him, they would go everywhere together and do everything together, bringing them even closer.

And today even though it’s noon, he sat on the Alpha’s lap and rested on his chest as he made a phone call in his study.

The door suddenly opened and Mariah walked in.

She paused and smiled before turning to her brother.

"I’m sorry but I would have to steal your mate away for now". She said to him and gestured at Tristan.

Alpha Mitch frowned and threw her a glare as he quickly ended his call.

"What do you want?" He asked grumpily.

"Your mate". Mariah said with a wide grin.

"Just for a few hours!

I’m not going to eat him, you know?".

Tristan chuckled as he watched the siblings exchanged glares, although he was enjoying his time with the Alpha he wouldn’t mind going away for a while.

Alpha Mitch finally agreed and let him go after a kiss.

Mariah grimaced watching them but she was excited as they left the study together.

"Why do you spend so much time with him?

Now you reek of him". She asked and scrunched up her nose.

"Since we are still going to use a few days here, I want to use it wisely. He gets too busy at the mansion". Tristan replied as she linked their arms and walked hurriedly outside the pack house.

He winced in pain as he tried to keep up with her but she was too fast.

"That’s alright but don’t forget Nita came here with you". She reprimanded, but their attention was drawn to Nita waiting outside in a swimsuit.

Tristan looked at her with raised brows.

"Wear this, we are going swimming". Mariah announced and handed him a swim trunks.

Nita nodded and grinned.

"Mariah said there is a small river farther back into the woods, we would swim and have a little picnic there". She announced and pointed at a tote bag they packed with necessities.

Tristan smiled and watched in awe but he was hesitating to change into the short they gave him.

His stomach had grown slightly bigger and Mariah might notice if he did.

"I don’t think I want to swim". He said softly and handed out the short back to her.

"There are no excuses allowed, let’s go!" She yelled and tugged at his hand.

Nita carried the tote and they headed towards the wood.

They walked about twenty minutes when they got to the river, the refreshing smell of nature and the clean water was so captivating that the two ladies went in first.

Tristan watched them have fun as he sat on the river bank.

The water wasn’t too deep and it was clear and clean.

"Come on, join us". Mariah yelled.

Tristan shook his head and continued to watch them.

He would love to, because watching them splash around in the water was exciting.

Mariah waddled out of the water towards him.

Just a few steps away pulled him by the hand and threw him into the water.

Nita gasped in shock and Tristan was too stunned to react, he hit the water with an unexpected force that he was disoriented for a few minutes.

"See?

It’s fun right?" Mariah yelled as she jumped back into the water but she didn’t see the distorted look on his face or the fearful look on Nita’s face.

"Are you okay?" Nita asked in a soft tone and steady.

Tristan nodded but he wasn’t.

He smiled at her to calm her down and tried to swim but he couldn’t move much.

His lower body seems to have gone rigid and moving his limbs sent a painful sensation back to his lower back.

He stood at a spot as his panic grew, he groaned softly and was beginning to feel lightheaded.

Nita kept her eyes on him and noticed the change in his pale face but she was too occupied to pay much attention to him until she and Mariah left the water.

"Let’s have lunch!" Mariah announced in a loud voice as the sun casted its glow on the water and the surrounding. They took their stuff to the nearest tree for some shade.

Mariah spread the quilt they brought on the floor and Nita dropped the bag on it.

"Tristan?" Mariah called as he wasn’t in sight.

Nita looked back towards the river, alarmed, she dropped the things in her hands and ran towards the river.

She met him with half his body out of the water and his legs inside the water, he laid on his stomach and unconscious.

"What happened?" Mariah asked in a trembling voice as she ran to catch up. They both hurry to carry him out of the water.

"Did he drown?" Mariah asked as Nita struggled to turn him over.

"I do not know". She replied and tapped his face several times until he groaned.

"Let’s go back". Nita said in a hurry and went back to the tree to get their things.

Mariah was a little confused and she frowned as Nita’s hand trembled as she tried to lift him up because he was still laying on the sand.

"Please help me, we need to get him back to the pack and to a doctor.

It’s urgent!" She screamed at Mariah and she finally snapped out of the daze.

"Let me do it". She replied and immediately bent down to lift him on her back.

Nita ran ahead of them to the pack house to alert the Alpha, what happened started out as a cool afternoon had taken an unexpected turn.

Neither of them had expected it, but she was more scared because she knew the truth and noticed a few signs that she had been too gullible to ignore.
