CHAPTER 61: THE TRUTH SHALL COME TO LIGHT
The months were passing by and Selena’s ’baby bump’ was growing heavier. She was now too ’heavy’ to walk around so she usually stayed in her room.
"Oberon, I want some chicken," she pouted.
She had begun to crave a lot of things, since she was ’pregnant.’
"Yes, it that is what you want, I will get if for you," he rushed out of the room to get her some chicken.
She now had almost everyone at her fingertips. She would yell at the poor maids at any slightest provocation, sometimes she would hit them if it crossed her head.
Since everyone was at her beck and call, she would order anything she wanted, sometimes she even made Oberon leave meetings all because of her.
Oberon came back with the chicken she had requested for.
"Are you still not satisfied?"
She shook her head, "I want a leg massage," she pouted and rolled her eyes.
He drew his head backwards, "Leg massage?"
She nodded, "Yeah, a leg massage," she made puppy eyes.
He frowned, "You know I can not do that, I can not massage your legs," he refused bluntly.
She made a face and began to cry, "I always knew you hated me," she cried.
He rolled his eyes, "Stop all this Selena, you are behaving childish."
"Now I am childish?"
He shook his head, "Okay, okay, stop crying, I will give you a leg massage," he sighed.
She grinned, "I love you Oberon," she kissed his cheeks.
He shook his head and massaged her legs to her heart’s content.
She wiggled her legs while he massaged it making it difficult to massage it.
"Stop wiggling your legs, it is difficult to give you a massage this way."
She pouted, "Do you not want to give me a leg massage?" She made puppy eyes.
"I do, but you are making it difficult for me," he shook his head.
"But that is what I want to do, I feel like wiggling my legs," she grinned.
"At least, do not wiggle it now, ker me be done with this leg massage before you wiggle it," he sighed.
She stopped wiggling her legs for a while but continued after some minutes.
"Oberon, your baby wants some wine," she whined.
"Do babies drink wine now?" He looked up at her.
"I am the one who is carrying your child, at least I am entitled to some form of enjoyment right?"
He shook his head, "That is not it, you should have said you want wine, not the baby," he replied calmly but she could notice from his tone that he was angry.
"Are you angry with me?" She blinked her eyes.
He shook his head, "No, I am not."
She giggled and clapped her hands, "Yay."
"I hope you give birth to him soon," he muttered.
"Oberon."
"Hmm?"
"I want to go round the palace."
"Why?"
"I feel like it, so take me round."
"Why is being a pregnant woman hard?"
"That is not an question for me to answer, you should ask the moon goddess," she shrugged.
He stood up, "That should be all."
She giggled, "Come closer."
He leaned forward and she kissed his lips, "You are the best, I love you so much."
He smiled and kissed her forehead, "Anything for you my queen."
She blushed, "Okay, now, feed me."
"Feed you what?"
"The chicken of course, and do not forget I also want some wine," she grinned.
"Yeah, if that is what will make you happy," he sighed, and fed her.
Selena was really troublesome, and made sure to spill some of the wine on him.
Oberon didn’t reply to any of this, he was patient with her.
"Okay, you can not take any more of it, let me go keep it, you might want it later," he stood up and left the room.
She smiled and lay on the bed, her heart throbbing with fear.
"Having to act pregnant is not so easy," she closed her eyes and exhaled.
She turned on her bed, making sure she kept her ’baby bump’ in place.
The breeze was gentle and it blew gently on her face.
"I can not wait to get all of this over with, this is so frightening, I really hope Due knows what she is doing," she gulped down nervously.
One of the windows clanged, and she got up with a start, "What was that?" She gasped.
She looked at the window but no one was there obviously.
"What is going on?" She arched her brow, walked to the window and closed it.
The breeze outside was gentle but her windows wouldn’t stop banging.
"This is odd, why are the windows behaving so strangely," she looked around.
She closed it again but it opened of its own accord, "Huh? This is strange," she frowned deeply.
"Now this is not what we see everyday," she squinted her eyes. She closed it again and this time it didn’t open on its accord.
*Strange things happen everyday," she arched her brows and walked back to her bed.
The breeze still blew all over all face despite the window now being locked.
"What is going on?" She sat up.
Oberon came into the room, "Selena? Why are you talking to yourself?"
She shook her head, "I am not talking to myself, something strange is happening."
"What is happening?" He arched his brow.
"Why is the breeze still blowing all over the room despite the room being locked?"
"Breeze? What are you talking about?"
"Do you not feel the breeze all over the place?"
"The window is locked, there is no way I would feel the breeze."
She gasped, "You do not feel anything?"
"No, do you?"
She creased her brows, "How come I feel breeze all over the room?"
"You must be imagining stuffs, there is no breeze, maybe you are in need of it, I should go open the windows."
"No there is no need for that," she shook her head.
becoming shaky?"
She gulped and sat down, her face was becoming pale, she shook her head and palmed her face.
"Selena, are you alright?" He held her shoulder, he could feel the vibrations throughout her body.
"Selena?" He called again.
She shook, "Oberon," she called softly, her face was becoming whiter with each passing moment.
Oberon was getting worried, "Selena?" He creased his brows.
He could feel the worry and fear coming from her.
"What are you even looking at?" He traced where her eyes went to but he could see nothing.
She pointed at a particular place, shaking with fear, he looked in that direction, "What is it? Tell me?"
Her teeth clattered, "Oberon, she.. is at one side of the room staring at me with her vulture like eyes," she screamed.
He creased his brows, "Who?"
She held his hand tightly, "Who is that?" She yelled.
He turned around, "Why are you screaming and who are you talking about?" He raised his voice.
Her eyes teared up, "She has a baby," she bit her nails.
Oberon was worried she was having the same problem as Nyx once had.
"I think you need the doctor, you are having the same problem Nyx had," he muttered.
She looked up at him, "Oberon, I think she is coming this way," she clutched his hand refusing to let go.
"Do not worry Selena, all you need right now is the doctor, I will go get him right away. I do not want anything to happen to my child."
"Oberon, this is not what I want, I do not want a doctor," she cried.
"I will be back, let me go get him," he realeased her hold on him and headed to the door.
"Oberon do not leave me, please," she ran to him but he led her back to the bed and made her sat down.
"I will be back."
"Oberon," her voice was choked, "Do not go," she held his hand.
He shook his head, "Wait," he left the room.
She looked back at the spot, the female was still there staring at her in an eerie manner.
"Who are you? What do you want from me?" She shook.
She didn’t respond, she only grinned at her evily.
"Please go away, I do not want you around," she shook her head.
She came closer to her, the evil grin still plastered on her face.
"What do you want from me? Go away," she took a pillow from the bed and threw it in her direction.
But the pillow passed through her. Selena was terrified, the baby with her chuckled darkly and crawled to her, giggling madly.
Selena screamed as loud as she could and ran to the door.
"The truth shall come to light," they both grinned.
She shook her head, "I promise you, I do not know what you are talking about," she held her head, screaming.
"The truth shall come to light," they whispered, and vanished as soon as they heard the door.
