The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.
Chapter 42
CHAPTER 42: 42
XAVIER
"First, we need something strong to sedate him for the pain." Nylah started, taking control of the room at once.
"Is there any anaesthesia available?" Nylah directed at the nurse that looked frightened at the sight of blood on the table.
She nodded and rushed to get it.
With a scissors, she tore the bloodied pants to reveal his wounded leg.
On seeing the extent of his injury, I knew that it wasn’t just some broken bones we were treating. Both his skin and some veins were compromised.
My heart clenched for my warrior. He was going through this because of me. Because of my failed deal with Alpha Dmitri.
"I was wrong. This is more than just broken bones. Are you sure you can do this?" I asked Nylah, giving up hope myself.
If nothing was done, he was either going to die from so much blood loss or he’d lose his leg. And without one leg, he can’t join in the war. He can’t fight with the remaining warriors. That’s one man down.
"Do you have another option?" Nylah retorted, inserting the syringe needle into the anaesthesia bottle and extracting some of its liquid.
She was already in control, and from the way she replied to me, I knew she didn’t like to be countered. She liked to be in charge, so I decided to trust her.
As she gave the warrior the anaesthesia, Brian came behind me.
"What’s she doing? Is she about to perform an operation on him? Is she a doctor?" He asked question after question.
"She says she can try. Let’s see what she’s got." I replied, suppressing the churning turmoil within me.
Nylah shot us both a quick glance and shifted it to her patient.
"Count backwards from nine." She said, and her patient counted to four before dosing off.
"Scapel." She asked with an opened palm towards the nurse who dropped it in her hand.
"Hope they’re sterilised." She asked again, and I was surprised at her meticulousness. I hadn’t watched a doctor perform an operation, but I could tell that she was so good at it that I couldn’t question her decisions.
"Yes, we never use them," the nurse replied before Nylah began.
She cut through some flesh to reveal some bones that had broken into half with bits everywhere.
"This trap must’ve been so strong to break his bones like this. There’s so much damage here." Nylah muttered as she removed the pieces of bones mixed with his flesh.
"Can you save his leg?" I asked with desperation.
"The leg was severed thoroughly. I don’t think it can be saved. We should cut it off and save him the pain." The nurse who was standing beside Nylah suggested, but Nylah shook her head.
"I can save the leg, I need a gauze to clean up this blood."
"Are you sure?" Brian asked, "His veins too are out of place. What if he’s never able to use the leg again?"
"His wolf will help him finish up the healing. All I need to do is tux the broken parts." Nylah spoke like a pro in this line. She spoke like she’d been doing this for years.
I couldn’t contain my surprise as I locked gaze on her and how she worked with enthusiasm in her lingerie.
So fucking sexy
’Won’t you say something?’ Brian’s words brought me back to the matter on ground.
’Say what? She said she could save the leg.’ I replied
’I think it’s too damaged.’ He voiced laced with concern, but I’d began to trust Nylah after the little I’ve seen her do.
’I think there’s a chance we can save him and save his leg as well, I suggest we take it than have him lose his leg and lose him to infection.’ Brian nodded at my words.
There was no harm in trying since Nylah was quite confident in her work.
I shifted my attention to her and watched keenly as she placed the gauze on his exposed leg and tapped on it gently so as not to tug at the bones sticking out of his leg.
After that, she pieced together the bones that were sticking out, and she did it so well it looked interesting.
Some minutes after putting everything in place, she asked for an herb to be collected and pounded. She applied the paste on his leg and wrapped it together with a new gauze and bandage to hold it together.
"Why did you use the herb?" I asked, eager to satisfy my curiosity and that of others.
"To stop the bleeding and prevent infections." She replied as she peeled off the gloves I didn’t even take note of from the beginning.
"Now what?" Brian asked
"Now we wait for him to wake up so his wolf can finish up the healing process." She replied with a small nod.
I had many questions about how she knew what to do for something as serious as this. It was no small wound, but she was brave enough to operate on it.
But I wasn’t going to ask her now, I’ll wait for her patient to wake up and hopefully get healed before asking her the questions I have piled up in my mental note.
"That was cool." The nurse who was wearing a scared face was now smiling with surprise at Nylah.
Truly, what she did was cool.
The warrior was transferred to the room and allowed to rest through the day. He woke up that evening, and we all rushed to check on him.
"How do you feel?" Nylah asked, checking his vitals.
"I feel fine, better even. What happened to my leg? It isn’t so painful as before?" He asked with a smile, but horror crept upon his face when a scary thought crossed his mind.
"Did you cut off my leg?!" His eyes widened as the words stumbled out of his mouth.
"No, I didn’t, I tried to save it." Nylah replied, looking at the bandaged leg.
"Can you try to move it?" She asked.
The reduced pain can mean two things.
Either he’s lost mobility in the leg, or his wolf had already begun to heal him.
The warrior shifted his gaze to his leg, and our breaths seized as we watched anxiously.
We all let out a sigh of relief when his leg moved slightly to the right side and then moved to the left again.
I almost screamed a "yes" but held myself back.
Nylah did such an incredible job, and I wonder how long she knew how to do this.
She just might be the doctor or healer we’ve been looking for all these while.
