The Alpha's Stripper Mate: Sold To Be His.
Chapter 87
CHAPTER 87: 87
XAVIER
"You have to act fast before the beast strikes again." the old man prodded. He looked like a terrified little child, and it made me even more scared about what could befall the pack.
"I didn’t know about any such beast. And I never knew that Alpha Dmitri could summon such a beast. And..." I wanted to talk about the plant of life and ask him why it didn’t work, but he cut me short.
"There are a lot of things our ancestors kept from us to save us from living in fear. thank the goddess for revealing such a secret to me." He replied with a satisfied sigh.
I was clueless and scared that the beast could storm the pack out of rage and destroy everything in its path.
"Can the beast be stopped?" I asked, my forehead furrowed with worry.
There had to be some other way to sort things out than together married to Ivy.
"There is no other way than to fulfil that which was promised." He replied, his voice firm.
"Even though the goddess knows that it is a wrong move and it is going to destroy the pack?" I asked, but he remained unflinched.
"You have to fulfil that which you promised them else no one who gets attacked by the beast would get better. They would die like the first victim did." He replied, and I knew right then that I had to make a move else, I would lose my pack members to the beast who knew nothing other than to kill.
"I will pay Alpha Dmitri a visit tomorrow." I concluded, and he bowed slightly before retreating.
"Take care, Alpha. I will beg the goddess to calm the beast so that you can go and return safely." he said, and I nodded before he retreated.
A few minutes after the old man left the room I was in, Brian walked in, like they all planned to visit me that very day, coming in one after the other.
"I hope you have not come here to tell me to return to the pack?" I said to him the minute he walked into the room without waiting for him to say anything.
He scoffed at my words. He looked infuriated by my words and attitude, but who cares?
"I came to tell you that the Alpha meeting will be held by the next full moon. And the venue is at the pack." My eyes widened at the sudden news that wasn’t supposed to be sudden.
"Are you surprised that the Alpha’s meeting is at hand already?" he asked with a wicked smirk.
I glared at him without saying a word. The bastard read my expression and probably read my mind, too.
"Well, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to you if only you paid more attention to the pack instead of locking yourself out of the pack and your own people." He added when no one asked him for his unsolicited opinion.
"I am not surprised because of that." I lied and scanned through the pile of papers, rifling through it like I’d left a pen in between the sheets.
"Oh yeah? Then why are you looking for what never went missing?" he asked, and I stifled a groan.
"Look, I will be going to see Alpha Dmitri soon." I changed the topic.
"Alpha Dmitri? Why?" he asked cluelessly.
"I got a visit by the advisor and he said that a beast summoned by pain and agony was responsible for the attack on the lady who did not make it and it would keep hunting members of the pack until I do what is necessary and required of me." I explained, and he got the point right away.
"Does he mean you should go and apologise to Ivy and her father?" Brian asked, and I nodded slowly, thoughtfully.
"Not only apologise but bring her back to the pack and fulfil my promise." I replied
Brian shook his head. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Well, it’s the only option we have so we can not choose whether it is good or bad. It is the only option." I emphasized.
"I knew that going to Alpha Dmitri from the start was not a good idea, and I tried to warn you, but you insisted and said you would handle it." Brian spoke about what had passed.
I hated it when he told me ’I told you so’
"Until you are in a position to go through the pressure I was under then, you have no right to tell me you told me so. I did what I did for the pack." I retorted.
Brian nodded as he pressed his lips into a thin line.
"Okay. I assume you would also go back to Alpha Dmitri and get married to his daughter even when you know that she can not be your Luna." He replied, and I forced a smile on my face.
"You got it right, Brian, that is exactly what I am going to do tomorrow. I am going to surrender and bring her back before the Alphas night because that is the only way to save the pack." I replied in the same angered tone.
He didn’t ask any further questions, but he stated his place.
"I promised to support you in whatever you do when you are made the Alpha, and I will keep my promise, but I will not accompany you to bring her back. You brought this upon yourself and the pack, and you alone will sort it out."
He finished and walked away without waiting for me to reply or counter him.
I let out a sigh and shot up from my seat. Sitting down there for long hours felt excruciatingly painful.
Especially while I was having conversations with Rex, Randolph, and Brian. It felt like the mahogany wood was set on fire, and my ass was getting the flame directly.
I walked out of the room. I’d turned to an office outside my room and walked into my room.
The images of Nylah dancing on the pole at the corner of the room sprang up in my memory, and I shook my head as if to push the memory aside.
I freshened up and slumped into the large bed that only increased the dirty memories I had of Nylah at the mansion.

The next day, at the crack of dawn, I headed for Alpha Dmitri’s pack. The Alpha’s meeting was in two days and I had to ensure I settled all the grudges between the both of us before two days’ time so that the Alphas coming to my pack and their pack members wouldn’t be attacked by the beast.
I rode alone to the pack since Brian already said he wouldn’t come with me, and I got there a couple of minutes to noon.
I alighted the car and the guards looked at me with curiosity in their gaze, It took everything in me not to lose my shit and ask them what the fuck they were staring at like that. But I decided to keep my head in the game and I was led to the throne room where Alpha Dmitri sat as usual.
He lifted his brow when he saw me.
"Do you know that you could be killed for walking in here like you own the place?" He asked when I got closer to him and I could feel the anger emitting from his voice.
