Chapter 741: Chapter 741: Transferring Qian Huixian Here

Ji Yang had taken care of things here and then returned to the city.

This time, Ji Yang could clearly feel that everyone’s gaze held a greater sense of awe towards him.

It made sense to him, considering that upon his arrival in Xiashan County, he had pretty much taken down the entire county committee. Now Xiashan County was reduced to just a few forlorn souls, and there was a pressing need to fill the ranks with a substantial number of officials.

Of course, until the full extent of corruption in the county had been clarified, personnel adjustments would need to wait. Many department heads of Xiashan County were temporarily drawn from the city; after all, there was mistrust towards the county officials, and the city was not willing to extensively utilize local cadres.

Sitting in his office, Ji Yang picked up his teacup and took a sip, finally allowing himself to relax a bit. With so many counties in the city, now there were only two counties left he had not visited, and he didn’t expect it to be difficult to develop them.

Ji Yang also decided that if those two counties really lacked resources, he would be willing to invest his own money to jump-start them.

As he pondered these matters, a call from Qian Huifang came in.

“I heard from Wu Mi that you’ve scored another coup for them in Xiashan County. When will you come to our place?”

Ji Yang chuckled and said, “You all should scout out the area first, note down any spots with potential for development. I need to handle some things in the city right now.”

As mayor, Ji Yang couldn’t really dedicate all his energy to those tasks, as there were many duties waiting for him back at the office.

Qian Huifang was just making an inquiry when she said, “I need to discuss something.”

“What is it?”

“It’s about your little sister-in-law.”

It then dawned on Ji Yang that although he had slept with their youngest sister, she hadn’t come over with them and was still working in a government department. He realized that he really hadn’t been paying much attention to her lately.

“How is Huixian doing?”

“Why don’t you call and show some concern for her? She’s very resentful towards you, saying you only know how to sleep with her.”

Ji Yang was helpless; ever since he arrived in Ximu City, it had been one thing after another.

“You know my situation; it’s just too busy.”

“I understand, but she doesn’t quite get it. Besides, things haven’t been easy for her lately.”

“What?”

“A new leader came in, and is now pursuing her aggressively; she’s at her wit’s end. She said you must transfer her to Ximu City.”

Ji Yang began to seriously consider the situation. After transferring to Ximu City, he felt that he might not be able to work there long-term, so he hadn’t thought about bringing close ones over. However, given the current circumstances, he might not be moving on so soon, and since Qian Huixian wasn’t comfortable there, it would be better to transfer her over.

For Ji Yang at his current position, bringing over a few officials wasn’t too difficult.

Thinking this through, he said, “I’ll give her a call and see what job she wants to do. If push comes to shove, I’ll just transfer her here.”

Qian Huifang then happily remarked, “I knew you wouldn’t ignore the matter. Besides, the residential complex we’ve been working on in the city is nearly finished.”

Ji Yang was aware that they had developed a residential complex in the city, designed as a villa community. In fact, within that complex, there were several areas off-limits to outsiders, with all of them being the residences of a few women—very secluded. Cars could drive straight in, then descend to an underground parking garage from which they could access the villas. The villas themselves had obstructed windows that prevented outsiders from looking in while still offering a view. The interiors boasted many luxurious features, turning the place into a veritable pleasure haven.

“That’s great news.”

Ji Yang’s thoughts turned to the various facilities within, and he could feel his desires stirring.

Qian Huifang whispered, “Are you interested in having the three sisters’ service?”

Hearing this, Ji Yang felt an even stronger impulse to rush over and engage in a thorough battle with them.

Both realized that they could not continue this conversation over the phone and quickly wrapped up the call.

Ji Yang then phoned Qian Huixian.

When Qian Huixian received the call from Ji Yang, she voiced her mild grievances: “You finally remembered me.”

Ji Yang had no choice but to comfort her for a while.

After mollifying Qian Huixian, Ji Yang asked what kind of job she would like to do.

“I don’t really have any preferences; just being able to be with you is enough,” Qian Huixian said.

Ximu City was indeed in dire need of officials. Ji Yang thought for a moment and suggested, “Given your situation, how about starting as a vice-chairperson at the Cultural Federation? What do you think?”

Qian Huixian was in fact a capable writer, having published stories and being a member of the Writers’ Association. She had previously been a deputy secretary of the Youth League and had later become the secretary. Now Ji Yang was helping her take a step further; becoming a vice-chairperson at the Cultural Federation was definitely feasible.

“I’ll leave it to you, your arrangements are always fine by me,” Qian Huixian responded, instantly cheered up by the prospect.
