CHAPTER 160: CHAPTER 160: YOU WEREN’T LIKE THIS TO ME BEFORE
Without giving Xia Yuge a chance to speak, he ended the call directly.
He put the phone back into his coat pocket and saw Munni had already parked the car at the door when he got there.
He walked around the car body to the front passenger seat, opened the door, and got in, "Today seems a bit warmer, Munni, what do you want to eat?"
"Porridge, and by the way, to meet that pretty girl the old doctor mentioned."
"There’s a handsome guy sitting next to you, isn’t that enough eye candy for you?"
Munni gave Xu Yisen a disdainful glance, deliberately ignoring his comment.
The car suddenly fell into silence, Xu Yisen amusingly glanced at the intentionally quiet Munni, and asked again, "Why so uncooperative?"
"Oh, because I really don’t know how to respond."
"Tsk tsk, Munni, you’ve changed. You didn’t treat me like this before."
"Maybe I was too young before, too immature and silly, doing stupid things and saying foolish words. Don’t take it seriously."
Her words seemed calm but hinted that her past pursuit of him was just a result of youthful naivety.
Xu Yisen pretended not to notice the underlying meaning, sighing, "I do miss the time that little Miss Qin used to trail behind me."
Munni pursed her red lips, her eyes on the road ahead involuntarily revealing deep, unfathomable waves.
The conversation between them ceased after her renewed silence.
When the car arrived at the porridge shop, Munni parked the car and unfastened her seatbelt. As she was about to get out, she suddenly remembered something and hurriedly told Xu Yisen, "Oh right, help me find a good lawyer."
Xu Yisen got out of the car, closed the door and looked at Munni, who also got out, "What’s wrong?"
"I want to sue Orange Entertainment."
"Oh, I’ve already filed a lawsuit for you," he paused, adding, "in your name."
Munni raised an eyebrow slightly, "When?"
"The day you ran away from home."
Xu Yisen didn’t tell Munni that the day before she ran away, when he saw the news about her and Yuan Chengmo house-hunting written by Orange Entertainment, he had already instructed Secretary Tang to have the legal team prepare to sue Orange Entertainment.
Munni nodded thoughtfully, and when Xu Yisen thought she was displeased with his decision to file the lawsuit in her name, Munni suddenly grinned and gave him a thumbs-up, praising, "Well done!"
Since the divorce, Munni had always been hot and cold with Xu Yisen, often more confrontational.
This rare compliment made Xu Yisen inexplicably smug, so he nodded, "Of course, can’t you see who they messed with? Don’t mess with the owner..." not yet finishing the five words, he caught Munni’s warning gaze.
So, he tactfully corrected himself, "Messing with them is my specialty! They need to be taught a lesson and remember it!"
"Uh huh."
The porridge shop wasn’t large, but at this time it wasn’t too crowded either.
Once they found a seat, the waiter promptly came over with a menu, "Hello, what would you like to drink?"
Munni rested her chin on one hand, her warm eyes nonchalantly sizing up the waiter taking their order, and after two seconds she replied, "I’d like a cup of warm water, thank you."
While opening the menu, Xu Yisen responded, "A pot of chrysanthemum tea, thank you."
"You’re welcome, please wait a moment."
After the waiter left, Munni slowly withdrew her gaze, looking at Xu Yisen with a half-smile, "Pretty indeed. What do you think, Yisen?"
