Chapter 169: Chapter 166: Peng Demon King’s Angry Battle with Mount Meru Chapter 169: Chapter 166: Peng Demon King’s Angry Battle with Mount Meru The Peng Demon King, having consumed several Peaches of Immortality and healed his wounds, soared into the skies and headed straight for Mount Meru in the Western Heaven.
By the time the Macaques King noticed, the other was already at the foot of Mount Meru.
Tathagata was lecturing on the Buddhist Scriptures within the Da Xiong Palace. The mountain gate of Mount Meru was guarded by Arhats, and upon seeing the arrival of a Great Peng, they shouted, “Halt! This is the sacred ground of the Buddhist sect, entry is not permitted!”
The Peng Demon King then made a respectful gesture and said, “I am the Gold-Winged Great Peng King, and my elder brother is Peacock Great Ming King Bodhisattva Kong Xuan of Mount Meru. I ask this Venerable to announce my arrival.”
However, the Arhat shouted back, “The Buddha Ancestor has decreed that no one may enter Mount Meru! Leave the way you came!”
The Peng Demon King’s forehead throbbed with visible veins as he said in a deep voice, “Would the Venerable truly not grant me this convenience?”
“Why the clamor! A refusal means refusal, return the way you came, or do not blame this poor monk for being impolite!” the Arhat replied.
Enraged, the Peng Demon King instantly brought forth his spear and, without another word, launched an attack! The Arhat was caught off guard and was pierced through the heart by the Peng Demon King’s spear, blood spurting wildly as he was impaled and killed. Upon the Arhat’s death, the sound of a bell rang out from Mount Meru, startling Tathagata, who was lecturing in the palace.
Tathagata said to the Great Mighty Celestial Dragon Bodhisattva, “Something has happened below; go and see.”
“As you command, Buddha Ancestor!”
The Great Mighty Celestial Dragon Bodhisattva rose to his full height and left the Da Xiong Palace. Striding upon the Buddhist sect’s Dragon Elephants, formidable and mighty, he intercepted the Peng Demon King halfway.
On his way, the Peng Demon King was blocked by a group of Buddhist sect disciples who formed the Eighteen Arhats Great Array. Although their mana might have been weaker, they managed to entangle the Peng Demon King, infuriating him greatly. He let out a howl and transformed into a giant Gold-Winged Great Peng, its wings beating and immediately unleashing a rain of Sword Qi. The Great Mighty Celestial Dragon naturally would not stand by as the Peng Demon King committed violence before him, for where would that leave his face? Taking a step forward, he punched towards the sky, and with a booming sound like the crushing of earth and mountains, a massive Fist Seal soared, exploding the swath of golden Sword Rain and crashing towards the Peng Demon King!
The Peng Demon King was inwardly shocked; such immense strength and mana from the Bodhisattva, definitely above the Indestructible Realm. Yet, with his incredible speed, the Peng Demon King dodged the massive Fist Seal with a swift sidestep.
Great Mighty Celestial Dragon gave a loud cry, and from his sleeves released multiple Magical Treasures, cutting off the Peng Demon King’s escape and raining down in attack!
Feeling somewhat irritated, the Peng Demon King recognized the Bodhisattva’s mana was exceedingly high. To get past, he would have to defeat him.
“Wind Thunder Pearl!”
Upon seeing the Peng Demon King spit out a Pearl, the Great Mighty Celestial Dragon’s expression changed. It was a powerful object formed from the essence of Soothing Wind and geng metal thunder, terribly potent.
With a flick, the Peng Demon King activated the Wind Thunder Pearl, hurtling it with astonishing speed, a sight that was truly alarming.
Caught off guard, the Great Mighty Celestial Dragon was struck full-on in the chest by the Wind Thunder Pearl, instantly throwing him back and spewing blood as he tumbled from the Dragon Elephant.
The Peng Demon King had used the Wind Thunder Pearl specifically for a sudden strike, swift as the wind and thunder, unleashing it in a breath and catching anyone unprepared with a direct hit.
With the release of the Wind Thunder Pearl, the Peng Demon King proved formidable; even a master like the Great Mighty Celestial Dragon was left in pain, struggling to get up.
The Peng Demon King was elated, retrieved the Wind Thunder Pearl, and turned to rush towards the Da Xiong Palace of Mount Meru.
This Peng Demon King was indeed audacious; daring to storm the stronghold of the Buddhist sect, where Three Thousand Buddhas, Infinite Bodhisattvas, and numerous Vajras resided. To enter was to risk being slain a million times over by the merest trinket shed by any among them. Yet, even so, he was determined to proceed, for within resided his elder brother, and how could the ties of blood be severed so easily?
“Dragon Elephant, go!” Great Mighty Celestial Dragon shouted, and the Dragon Elephant immediately let out a thunderous roar, entangling itself with Peng Demon King, preventing him from passing.
In terms of mana, Great Mighty Celestial Dragon was indeed far superior to Peng Demon King; however, Peng Demon King’s Wind Thunder Pearl caught him off guard, causing Great Mighty Celestial Dragon to feel a great loss of face.
Having lost so much face, Great Mighty Celestial Dragon naturally sought ways to regain it. If he allowed Peng Demon King to ascend to Da Xiong Palace, he truly wouldn’t know where to put his face! The terror of the Indestructible Realm was suddenly displayed; nine transformations of his Primordial Spirit healed most of his wounds in an instant, and with a thunderous shout, he attacked again.
Peng Demon King inwardly complained bitterly. Great Mighty Celestial Dragon’s mana was formidable, and his physical strength was incredibly terrifying. A punch landed on his spear, causing it to tremble incessantly, and his whole body ached from the shock!
“Bang!”
Great Mighty Celestial Dragon flipped his palm and formed a giant Dharma Seal, and above his head, a Treasure Wheel appeared; this was the Treasure Wheel Seal.
With the formation of the Treasure Wheel Seal, the force of his punch seemed to increase manyfold in an instant. As soon as Peng Demon King’s steel spear collided with it, it was immediately knocked away. Caught off guard by another punch, Peng Demon King let out a painful groan and crashed into the ground, creating a large pit.
Peng Demon King climbed up from the ground and felt a strong wind rushing towards the crown of his head. Crying out that it was not good, he hurriedly channeled his divine skills, and a layer of Witch Clan symbols appeared on his body. A shadow rose behind him, and with a thunderous boom, a massive Fist Seal smashed right into it!
“Crack!”
The power of this punch was shockingly formidable. Great Mighty Celestial Dragon, acclaimed as the most powerful Bodhisattva in the West and capable of shaking Mount Sumeru with a single blow, shattered Peng Demon King’s Gonggong Dharma Body with that punch. The Dharma Body let out an agonized howl as it turned into fragments, and Peng Demon King was blasted a hundred zhang deep into the ground.
Just as Great Mighty Celestial Dragon was about to throw another punch, he suddenly heard a fierce sound of Sword Qi. He saw a figure brandishing a sword, accompanied by the shadows of immortal flight. This sword thrust was incomparably swift, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
Great Mighty Celestial Dragon was shocked, knowing that Peng Demon King’s ally had arrived. He quickly formed a Dharma Seal with his hand, creating a massive gateway. The door was engraved with profound Buddhist Scriptures, shimmering in golden light.
“Sizzle!”
The sword thrust on it, yet it lacked force, causing Great Mighty Celestial Dragon to be taken aback. How could such an apparently powerful sword be so fragile?
In fact, this was because the enlightenment daoist, upon hearing the news that Peng Demon King had gone to the Western Heaven, was alarmed and rushed over. Throughout the journey, he traveled incredibly fast by using the Sword Leading Immortal Flight, traversing The Three Great Continents before finally arriving here. However, the power of this intervening blow was greatly reduced and could not harm Great Mighty Celestial Dragon at all.
Great Mighty Celestial Dragon withdrew the gateway and threw a punch. He had few magical treasures, but his unarmed combat was strong, with boundless power. The saying “One Force Breaks Ten Thousand Laws” was fully demonstrated by him!
The Enlightenment Daoist hurriedly created a Sword Shadow Clone, pushing it forward to block Great Mighty Celestial Dragon’s punch, only to be blown apart by the impact.
Nonetheless, this action freed Peng Demon King from his dire straits.
Great Mighty Celestial Dragon’s expression was as dark as water as he exclaimed, “How audacious! Which sect’s Taoist are you, daring to intrude upon the Buddhist holy land of Mount Meru?”
The Enlightenment Daoist did not respond, instead attempting to rescue Peng Demon King from the ground and flee. But how could Great Mighty Celestial Dragon let him succeed? He stepped forward to block the escape route.
As for how the danger unfolds, please listen to the explanation in the next episode.
PS: After finishing writing, I’m off to the hospital for an IV drip. My apologies for the shorter length this time. Once I feel better, I’ll get back into the groove. Promises are difficult to keep, otherwise I’d have to chop off my hands.
