The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 132: When She Grows Up, She Will Marry Him
CHAPTER 132: CHAPTER 132: WHEN SHE GROWS UP, SHE WILL MARRY HIM
Holly Andrews glanced at the woman on the bed and reminded Noah Phillips, "Noah, you’ve probably heard the saying, ’A girl changes significantly by the time she’s eighteen.’ Simply put, a person’s appearance changes with age. A five-year-old girl’s looks will change dramatically by the time she grows up. So, how do you know this woman is your childhood sweetheart?"
"Do you know how many years I’ve spent looking for her?" Noah didn’t directly answer Holly’s question, asking one in return.
"I know, a long time."
It was no secret that Noah Phillips had a childhood sweetheart; those who knew him were aware of it.
"A full fifteen years!"
Noah Phillips looked at Sienna Johnson and slowly recounted the hardship of his search. "After my parents took me back from the Orphanage, the first thing I did was ask my father to bring Baby home too, but my family wasn’t willing. Later, I tried many methods, and they finally had no choice but to agree. However, by the time they went, Baby had already been adopted by someone else."
Holly Andrews asked, "With your family’s influence, shouldn’t it be easy to find an adopted little girl?"
Noah Phillips smiled bitterly. "What if they didn’t truly want to find her?"
"You can’t be serious!" Holly hadn’t expected Noah’s parents to feign compliance, promising their son they would look for Sienna Johnson while not genuinely searching at all.
"Then don’t you hate your parents? If it weren’t for them, you two really would have been ’childhood sweethearts.’"
Noah said magnanimously, "They are my parents, my biological parents. How could I hate them? They were only trying to do what was best for me, even if, in my eyes, it wasn’t truly for my benefit."
The sun rose, its light falling on Sienna Johnson’s face, making even the fine hairs there visible. Noah Phillips gazed at her, his eyes filled with intense emotion.
"Holly..."
"Hmm?"
"You have to cure her soon, because..."
"Because of what?"
"I want to marry her."
Holly Andrews choked on his own saliva, staring at Noah Phillips in astonishment. Noah had been mature and level-headed since childhood—sensible and intelligent. He was the perfect child growing up and became the perfect adult. As Noah’s friend, Holly had felt immense pressure since they were young.
"Um, do you even know this sleeping beauty on the bed? And have you asked her if she’s willing to marry you?" Boss, where on earth does your confidence come from? Holly thought.
"I’ve investigated. She’s never been married. Her previous fiancé was merely part of a family alliance; she didn’t like him. What’s more, her ex-fiancé has already married her sister who is not related by blood."
Noah Phillips held her hand. It was scraped and wrapped in gauze. Her nails were smooth and rounded. He looked at her with heartache, speaking gently, "Baby, you have to get better soon. I’ve come to find you as we agreed. You need to get better quickly and keep your promise. You said you’d marry me when I came to find you."
「A month ago, the Desmond Family in Abyanabad.」
When Adrian Desmond wanted to call Walter Klein, he realized his phone was missing. He then remembered he had been looking at a photo of Sienna Johnson on his phone when Melanie Carpenter came in, and he’d casually placed the phone on a chair. Later, flustered by Melanie, he forgot to take his phone when he left.
Adrian Desmond returned to the nursery and saw Melanie Carpenter holding his phone. Adrian asked discontentedly, "What are you doing with my phone?"
Melanie Carpenter pressed the "delete" button, and the recent call record with Sienna Johnson vanished completely. Her heart pounded, but she didn’t feel she had done anything wrong. That woman shouldn’t have existed in the first place. Since she had left, she should never come back.
"Oh, it’s nothing. I saw that you forgot your phone, so I thought I’d bring it to you," Melanie replied nonchalantly.
Melanie Carpenter walked over and handed the phone to Adrian Desmond.
"Sixth Brother, here’s your phone."
Adrian Desmond looked at the phone, then at Melanie Carpenter, took the phone, and said, "I don’t like other people touching my phone."
"I understand. It won’t happen again," Melanie replied obediently.
Adrian Desmond took the phone and turned to leave. It wasn’t until much later that Adrian realized how much he had missed in those mere ten minutes or so. So very much.
「Bluzell City,」
Lucas Robertson had been searching for Sienna Johnson all this time, but she seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth, impossible to find.
Kiki cried in front of Lucas Robertson, making him extremely frustrated. For the first time, Lucas found women to be troublesome. If it weren’t for Curly Baby being there, he would have walked out immediately.
"Can you please stop crying?"
"I’m going to cry! I’m just going to cry!" Kiki cried. "Lucas, you still haven’t found Mai, and you won’t even let me cry!"
Lucas Robertson reassured her, "Don’t worry. I will definitely bring Miss Johnson back."
"I don’t believe you. It’s been a month, and you still haven’t found her. Curly Baby is so pitiful; she’s so young and can’t see her mother."
Lucas remained silent.
"SOB, SOB... Curly Baby is just like me now," Kiki wailed.
"Stop crying! There are no tissues left." Lucas handed Kiki the last tissue. Kiki, disregarding her image, blew her nose right in front of him. Lucas was thoroughly disgusted.
Kiki was a beautiful woman, and people often said that a beauty still looks pretty even when crying. But when Kiki cried, she looked awful.
"Mai, where did you go? WAH..." Kiki continued to sob.
Curly, who was sleeping, was awakened by the noise. Seeing Kiki crying, the little one seemed very unhappy about being disturbed. Her lip trembled, and she burst into loud wails.
The big one and the little one, a pair of crybabies, made Lucas’s head throb.
"Alright, both of you stop crying! I’ll go look, I’ll go look, okay?"
Kiki stopped crying and asked with a choked voice, "Really?"
"Would I dare lie to you?" Lucas Robertson said through gritted teeth.
Kiki beamed at Lucas. "Brother Lucas, thank you! You’re such a good person."
Goosebumps erupted all over Lucas. "Just call me Lucas, please."
"Wait a moment!"
"What for?"
