CHAPTER 86: CHAPTER 83 I MIGHT CONSIDER IT

The words were half serious, half roguish, yet they carried a hint of impatience and indifference.

"You don’t need to provide for me," Qi Longbing said with a deliberate smile, pretending not to understand. This girl really was quite interesting, but it wasn’t certain yet who would be providing for whom!

"One month, huh... let me think..." Qi Longbing pretended to consider, then lifted his head to look at her, speaking swiftly, "If we’re talking about turning a fake act into reality, I might consider it..."

"Turning a fake act into reality..." Hua Xiaomo caught the phrase from his sentence and laughed insincerely. "President Qi, you really should stop daydreaming."

Interesting.

"Really? But I do want to... what should I do about that?" Qi Longbing said with a smirk, suddenly feeling intrigued by this little woman.

"You know... by playing pretend, feelings can develop, right, Miss Hua?" Qi Longbing said with a flawless smile.

As if! "Yes... and no," Hua Xiaomo also laughed, then fearlessly met his gaze.

"How can you know if feelings won’t develop if you don’t try?" Qi Longbing teased, picking up on her words.

Her image filled his eyes, and an inexplicable warmth, a faint sense of pleasure, spread through his heart. Okay, he admitted, he enjoyed conversations like these with her the most.

It’s like a captivating game of hide and seek, endlessly entertaining!

Do what? Fat chance! Hua Xiaomo felt like she was about to suffer internal injuries from anger. She’d been serving him for the past few days... had it been easy for her?

Yet this bastard was still giving her a hard time! He’d even tricked her into handing over her diploma, which was so infuriating!

However, though she was fuming inside, she still maintained that habitual, soft and icy smile on the surface.

"President Qi, are you saying that I have to come work at your company and be your secretary before you’ll give me my diploma?" Hua Xiaomo tried to back down a step.

There was no choice; one had to bow their head when beneath another’s roof.

Yet, she found it strange. Her usual approach of submission hadn’t earned her any "kindness" from him; instead, he seemed to take even greater advantage.

How infuriating!

"It’s good you understand. Come over at 8:30 tomorrow morning to start work on time," Qi Longbing said crisply, then flashed her a radiant smile.

He was actually quite welcoming of this new secretary and looked forward to her performance!

Hua Xiaomo looked at him. If she just let everything go his way, he’d really think she was easy to bully! Hmph! No, she absolutely couldn’t just sit by and wait for her doom.

Hua Xiaomo quickly shifted her mindset, her bright brown eyes gleaming as they darted around.

Turning the tide in a losing battle was her forte; she, Hua Xiaomo, would not be led by the nose by anyone.

Hua Xiaomo collected her thoughts and offered him a shallow smile before saying, "Actually, I’m truly honored to have the opportunity to work at the Qi Imperial Court right after graduation. It’s just that, taking on this prestigious position of CEO’s secretary all of a sudden... I’m afraid I might not get used to it. Perhaps it would be better to... start from an entry-level position!"

Qi Longbing continued with a smile, "Slowly... won’t you get used to it?" His own gorgeous face beamed with a soft glow as he looked at her, his gaze fixed and seemingly unable to move away, his fingers subtly stirring. It seemed like an innocuous little gesture.

But to Hua Xiaomo, it was a provocative gesture that was an eyesore and an affront to pure thoughts.

In one word, he was a devilishly handsome man!

And another thing, who the hell was this despicable President staring at? Was he mistaken about his target?

This was so infuriating! She really hated him acting like this. When would he ever stop? Ugh, she truly didn’t want to work for him; she had absolutely zero interest in being his secretary! What could she possibly do to avoid it? How could she escape becoming his secretary?
