CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 89 I’M HUNGRY
"Uh, I’m hungry... Let’s just eat!" Hua Xiaomo smiled awkwardly. As soon as Aunt Wang brought out the dishes, she plopped down onto the stool.
Qi Longbing flashed a lovely smile but didn’t say anything.
Soon after dinner, Qi Longbing was on the sofa, working on his laptop at the coffee table, while Hua Xiaomo sat on a different sofa, leafing through a magazine in utter boredom.
The two of them quietly went about their own business without exchanging a word.
Watching his focused and serious demeanor, Hua Xiaomo couldn’t help but squint her eyes slightly. This guy really is a workaholic!
Well, being a workaholic isn’t so bad! Hua Xiaomo smiled, then tilted her head and lay down on the separate sofa.
Aha, reading a magazine like this—now *this* is the life!
Might as well take a nap.
Hua Xiaomo covered her face with the magazine and, just like that, actually started snoring softly. She planned to find a new spot at midnight and continue sleeping.
It wasn’t a bad way to spend the night.
Just as Hua Xiaomo was thinking this, a pair of legs tiptoed towards her.
Suddenly, the moment a pair of hands slipped under her legs and knees—apparently tickling her as he began to lift her—she burst out laughing.
Only then, caught off guard, did Hua Xiaomo’s eyes fly open.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Hua Xiaomo snapped, quickly wriggling free from his grasp.
Qi Longbing smiled like a sly fox. "I thought you were really asleep. I was just about to move you to a different spot!"
"Heh heh..." Hua Xiaomo chuckled twice, feigning innocence. "Just pretending to sleep occasionally. President Qi needn’t take it seriously."
"Is that so?" Qi Longbing’s lips curved into a smile; this little slip of a girl was quite interesting.
His handsome face exuded a subtle radiance, and a hint of roguish charm played on his fine lips.
"Are you really that bored now?" Qi Longbing suddenly asked.
"Not at all! I’ll read my magazine, and you can... continue working. It’s perfect; we won’t bother each other!" Hua Xiaomo laughed.
Unexpectedly, he replied, "Seeing you, I suddenly don’t feel like working anymore."
"..." Hua Xiaomo lifted her head, feeling puzzled. What does he mean by not wanting to work when he sees me?
What on earth did his work have to do with her? So exasperating!
"Bring your sketchpad and come with me. I’ll show you something," Qi Longbing said, already picking up her sketchpad with one hand and pulling at her elbow with the other, heading towards a side door.
"Hey, you’re not thinking of going up the tower again, are you?" Hua Xiaomo asked, her mind full of questions.
Indeed, that place was a great spot for admiring the moon from high up. However, the setting with just the two of them... inevitably made one hesitate.
It wasn’t for any other reason; she simply wasn’t used to being alone with him up there.
A roguish smile flickered across Qi Longbing’s handsome face. "There are some new and interesting things added up there. Come and take a look."
Without further ado, Qi Longbing pulled her onto the elevator, and they ascended to the top of the tower.
The chill at the tower’s summit grew stronger, but standing there, Hua Xiaomo felt no coldness at all. Instead, this cosmic vista of flowing nebulae and stars made Hua Xiaomo’s eyes light up.
"Now, have a look over there," Qi Longbing said. He promptly pressed a button, and a spotlight shone upon a statue and a painting.
Positioned on the tower’s summit, against the backdrop of the cosmic vista, these two items were incredibly eye-catching.
Hua Xiaomo stared, her eyes widening again in surprise.
Weren’t these the Venus Statue and the painting "Venus and the War God" she had seen on Gasia?
What were they doing here?
